The Progressive disaster in Parkland Florida keeps getting worse. According to The Hill, not only did the school marshall not go in himself, he warned other officers away. And the icing on the cake? Two SWAT team members who went in without orders have been punished.

"The Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Wednesday that two SWAT officers from the Miramar Police Department who were on duty headed to the high school when a gunman started shooting, even though they hadn't been instructed to. According to the police department, that created a safety issue that resulted in their suspension.

Detectives Jeffrey Gilbert and Carl Schlosser, the two officers, were reportedly in the area where the shooting occurred. Following their suspension, the two were ordered to turn in their SWAT-issued rifles, but they remain on active duty for other assignments, according to the newspaper.

A third SWAT member, Officer Kevin Gonzalez, was suspended for violating the department's social media code of conduct over posts that portrayed the department and the city in a negative light, the Sun-Sentinel reported."

This is Progressive ideology run wild and it cost lives.

The shooter had been on everyone's radar for a long time, but was not prohibited from buying firearms because of an Obama-era policy where the police did not \make arrests of teenagers, ostensibly to avoid giving minorities police records.

As the Conservative Treehouse article pointed out:

"Broward County schools intentionally created polices from 2011 through 2015 that culminated in the 2018 mass school shooting in Parkland. We know this with great specificity because five years ago we warned Broward County Florida school board members this could happen.

In 2012 and 2013 while doing research into the Trayvon Martin shooting we discovered an alarming set of school policies being enacted in Miami-Dade and Broward County Florida. The policies were called "diversionary programs” and were essentially about stopping High School students from being arrested. Law enforcement was instructed to avoid arrests and defer criminal conduct to school administrators.

Students who engaged in violence, drug sales, robberies, burglaries, theft and other various crimes were intentionally kept out of the criminal justice system. County administrators and School Superintendents told local and county law enforcement officers to stop arresting students."

This was to break the "pipeline from school to prison" by keeping clean records for bad seeds. Trayvon Martin was one such bad seed, having been involved in all manner of criminal and thuggish behavior before being shot by the White Hispanic George Zimmerman (notice how it can't be an Hispanic, since people of color are ALWYS victims). Nikolas Cruz, another "white hispanic" had police called to his home forty someodd times, with zero arrests. He would not have obtained a firearm had anyone ever pressed charges. No matter how much you tighten gun laws, that would not have changed because officially Cruz had no record.

In 2013 Broward County issued the following:

Broward’s Collaborative Agreement on School Discipline was announced in early November. Instead of suspensions, students can now be referred to the PROMISE program, where they receive counseling for several days and then return to school. A host of non-violent misdemeanors no longer require an arrest, though officers can sometimes override that if they feel it is necessary ("I wanted to make sure deputies always had discretion,” says Scott Israel, Broward County’s sheriff). The school district’s Office of Minority Male Achievement reviews data to ensure that punishments for minor infractions and racial disparities are on the decline.

Strong pressure was put on the Sheriff's department to not arrest teenage criminals, and the school refused to even suspend them. This was part of the PROMISE program.

Here is the Obama Executive Order on the matter.

Among some of the highlights of the EO:

(iii) decreasing the disproportionate number of referrals of African American children from general education to special education by addressing the root causes of the referrals and eradicating discriminatory referrals

(iv) implementing successful and innovative education reform strategies and practices in America's public schools to ensure that African American students receive a rigorous and well-rounded education in safe and healthy environments

And here's a big one:

(vi) reducing the dropout rate of African American students and helping African American students graduate from high school prepared for college and a career, in part by promoting a positive school climate that does not rely on methods that result in disparate use of disciplinary tools, and by supporting successful and innovative dropout prevention and recovery strategies that better engage African American youths in their learning, help them catch up academically, and provide those who have left the educational system with pathways to reentry;

In a prior EO Obama stated:

However, substantial obstacles to equal educational opportunity still remain in America's educational system. African Americans lack equal access to highly effective teachers and principals, safe schools, and challenging college-preparatory classes, and they disproportionately experience school discipline and referrals to special education. African American student achievement not only lags behind that of their domestic peers by an average of two grade levels, but also behind students in almost every other developed nation. Over a third of African American students do not graduate from high school on time with a regular high school diploma, and only four percent of African American high school graduates interested in college are college-ready across a range of subjects. An even greater number of African American males do not graduate with a regular high school diploma, and African American males also experience disparate rates of incarceration.

See, we must have equality of outcome without regard to behavior or character. That is the Progressive way, and at the root of what has been going wrong in American schools, and why school shootings appear to be getting worse (actually they are not.)

PROMISE, while addressing the behavior specific to the youth, is committed to addressing family and community circumstances that serve as both strengths and challenges for the youth’s resiliency. PROMISE is an intervention-based program designed to correct student behavior that violates Policy 5.8 and/or Policy 5006, Suspension and Expulsion. PROMISE utilizes a comprehensive set of supports and education. The intent of PROMISE is to safeguard the student from entering the judicial system."

"Restorative Justice" is code for grievance, And notice it is aimed at "community" which is another dog whistle for micro-racism. This is essentially Progressive racial grievance masquerading as concern for students.

I hate to tell these people, but "resegregation" is the choice of the minorities, not of white America. And in so doing the lax view towards criminality and simple rude or unacceptable behavior has grown, as pathologies feed upon themselves and grievance has metastasized.

Let mo offer a few more points to ponder.

In August of 2016 the Obama Justice Department sued Georgia for segregating disabled students from the general student population. Any mentally ill students who posed a danger to the student body were thus forced into the general pool, where they could be taunted or bullied by other students and could not be watched. This action guaranteed mentally ill students were in a position to do terrible things, but, hey, it's all about "fairness" after all.

Also, the infamous Obama Administration Title IX guidlines made it clear that "transgendered" students were to be afforded special protections. Now, a "transgendered" is someone suffering from a mental disorder, and even if the Federal guidelines only applied to cross dressers it will be put into effect across the board, allowing many people with dangerous mental disorders access to situations where they likely shouldn't be. That's the danger of trying to make everything fair; you wind up discriminating for the "victim" class and it comes around to bite you.

Interestingly enough, I couldn't find any statistics of crimes committed by transvestites on Google, a sure sign that the fix is in by the left. I found just one article about psychological problems of crossdressers, and it linked a Lancet study trying to claim lack of societal acceptance was the sole cause of psychological problems of these people. In fact, over half of all trans suffer from depression and a whopping 41% have attempted suicde. That is overwhelming evidence of serious psychological disturbance, yet we are expected to believe it is just because of social disapproval. Is that it, or is it the knowlege that the individual is willfully rejecting his or her nature in favor of a fantasy? And if one is willing to kill onesself, aren't at least a few of them willing to take others with them? Strange how I could find almost nothing on the subject, which is a clear sign of suppression of the information by Google.

Also, under Obama, the DOJ tried to strangle the Louisiana school voucher program to force minority kids to remain inside the pressure cooker schools. For a group that is so upset about children getting shot by classmates, the Progressives sure don't seem to worry about what causes this sort of thing. Clearly, maintaining the status quo on education is not the answer, but the Left demands it continue, then rails against guns when their policies fail.

Here is the agreement in Broward County between the school board, the Sheriff's Department, and other interested authorities. It is spelled out in no uncertain terms that the Sheriff's Department is hamstrung in handling these bad seed children.

The school shooting was clearly the result of Progressive policies run amok. Sadly, the mainstream media will not report this.
