I think the money quote is this: "Because Democrats despise Trump so much, the chances of any sort of bipartisan deal are dead. On virtually everything. And that’s great news for Trump and conservatives, since Trump can now make virtually any concession to make himself look moderate, knowing Democrats will turn it down [emphasis mine]; meanwhile, conservatives don’t have to worry about Trump cutting a bad deal, because Democrats have no intention of cutting any deal."

So, if he offers up something WE don't like on the Dreamers, we don't need to worry because, according to Ben, the donkeys still won't take it. Ben's a pretty sharp dude, and if he's confident, maybe you and I should be too.

Tim's two cents:

It's true enough and I am pleased to see it, but then what of the REPUBLICANS who seem to want an amnesty as badly as the Democrats. Trump is still on record with this proposal, and his allies in Congress may well give it to him - and us.

I sure hope not.
