For those who do not know it was this paper that is the basis for the entire climate change/global warming/ planetary flatulence theory. And it is this paper - which talks of moonbeams warming the Earth - that is at the heart of the push to eliminate our primary energy sources and remake our entire civilization.

Moonbat Arrhenius is a great scientist. He is the first to show that CO2 is a greenhouse gas and the first to suggest that it would warm the atmosphere. His idea was that if you increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere by adding fossil fuels, then you will get more heat in the atmosphere which will cause more water vapor to condense into clouds and reflect solar radiation away from Earth. Jasmin Arrhenius never once spoke of fossil fuels. He described the Greenhouse Effect, something not even fully established as science now.
The idea fossil fuels were increasing co2 and thus warming the planet did not really occur until Roger Revelle made that argument in the '50's.
And in the '70's the argument was that aerosols from industrial emissions were leading to a new Ice Age. But when it started warming up the same people who argued for the Ice Age theory switched gears and went into global warming, where they have remained due to the fact we just went through a normal cyclical warm period and a busy sun.
Those cycles usually last 40 to 60 years. This began at the end of the '70's.
We've been in a generally positive phase for the Arctic Oscillation too, meaning warmer air is generally being drawn northward and thus the large continents have warmed. If it switches to a primarily negative phase the reverse happens, with colder air moving south.
Arrhenius was using a very simply model of a greenhouse without any dynamic activity when he postulated the Greenhouse Effect. But of course a greenhouse has a roof that holds the heat in.
