Who can blame them?

In a June 18statementdetailing the results of the survey, the union said the reforms, "have wide ranging negative impacts to the working conditions of police officers in the district.â€

The survey found that of the 71% who are considering leaving, 25% may retire early, 35% are looking for opportunities at other law enforcement agencies and 39% are considering leaving law enforcement entirely.

According to the unionâ€™s statement, among their concerns are the elimination of collective bargaining rights for employees, the changes in body-worn camera policy as it relates to evidence collection and changes in "use of forceâ€ policy.

1 The citizens of DC had better hope -- and pray -- that the cops don't follow up on these feelings, for many reasons. The capital city of a country really ought to be safe and secure, and both political parties should realize they have a huge (Yuge?) stake in that.

2 Maybe it's time to move the capital out of D.C. and let the city join Maryland. Move out west somewhere, like to Montana! And leave the bureaucrats to fester in the swamp that D.C. will return to being.
