Somebody just tried to explain to me that the current spell of extreme cold is what we should expect from global warming, because the warming disrupts weather patterns causing greater extremes of temperature. (yawn).
Here is my reply:
"Here is the same theory from the 1970's. Exactly what you have been told would result from a net warming of globe.
All the details are there, the disruption of weather patterns. The increased extremes of temperature and precipitation. It's all here mapped out.
And what was the cause of this according to the public science messaging of the time?
Yep, global cooling.
now of course our T.V. science is far superior, and we have experts who tell us exactly the same story, but reversed so that warming is the cause.
You are letting smart people pull the wool over your eyes.
Think about it - you have let people convince you that warming causes more cold.
Doesn't that possibly seem a little odd?"
Tim adds:
Yep. These people think we don't remember anything.
I distinctly remember them saying global warming would lead to a "warmer, wetter world" yet drought and cold is blamed on it now. They think we are stupid. There was never any discussion of weather pattern disruption or the "polar vortex" in the 20th century; that is all modern phenomenon designed to explain away the lack of cooperation from the weather.
And if we decrease planetary temperatures as they want? Will that make the Earth become uninhabitably warm, as on Venus? I suppose Pluto is hotter than Venus now? I mean it's cold so it must be hot, right?
