USAF colonel says we shouldn't hire white pilots any more. That diversity and inclusivity are the priorities. More proof of the wokeness imposed on our military by this odious administration.

And exactly what are the beneifits of "inclusivity" and "diversit anyway? How does it actually improve military readiness, or make for better pilots? I am so tired of this shibboleth. There is nary a shred of evidence to suggest diversity improves anything. On the contrary,t here is considerable evidence it has the exact opposite effect.

"Diversity" might be useful in an organization where a plethora of ideas are valued and input from the workers is important, perhaps, but the military is a rigid top-down insitution and there is no benefit to it. In fact the military labors to break "diversity" and "inclusivity" when training recruits; they are not to be white or black or yellow or anything except olive-drab green. They are supposed to lose their individualism and cultural traits while serving and the military is supposed to be their culture and heritage. They start that in basic training.

So, we try to beat our differences out of recruits, then these woke military nitwits call for "more diversity". Why? Either it is a pearl of great price or it isn't. If it is so valuable then we may eschew basic training and uniforms and military haircuts and every other thing designed to knock individuality out of the recruits.

This is beyond stupid.

It is especially beyond stupid to choose pilots based on affirmative action guidelines. People will die needlessly. Our military efficiency and capabilities will suffer.

I remember the military used to recruit on the basis of merit, and actually encouraged people to join to prove their mettle. Now it is morphing into the U.S. Post Office. That really worked out well for us when they turned the USPS into a minority outreach agency.

I tried to Google studies on capabilities of pilots based on race and sex. I found ones about "bias against women and minorities" but not about actual capabilities. Interesting, no?

My brother was a PACE instructor on a number of naval vessels and he told me that women at least were given a wide amount of latitude. They could have more "downs" on their record than male pilots, for example. And there were cases he told me about. For example,a woman pilot crashed on landing on an air-craft carrier. She had shut her com off because she didn't want them to hear she was crying (which she had been until she shut the com off). The result was a crash. She had had problems before that but she was a female aviator and they desperately wanted such. It's something they've been doing for a long time now (this was back in the '90's.)

It's one thing to put less-competent people in some jobs (like postal carriers) but where lives are concerned it is a dreadful idea. Affirmative action pilots are just daft; it MUST be on the basis of merit.
