The Democrats claim to be the party that wants to count every vote. They fight tooth-and-nail against any sort of restriction on voting, be it purging old voter rolls of names long deceased or moved away, or making people register prior to an election, or even so much as having a police presence near a voter poll. They are forever accusing Republicans of trying to suppress voters. And they find all sorts of "missed" votes they demand be counted after deadlines.
So you would think a party as dedicated to the proposition of the sanctity of the will of the voters would want as many people in the race as possible, right?
You would be wrong if you think that.
It appears Democrats in Florida are trying to keep Bernie Sanders off the ballot in the primary.
From the Washington Times:
The lawsuit, which was filed this week in Leon County, argues that Mr. Sanders of Vermont is an independent and thus ineligible for the March 17 primary.
"Florida is a closed primary state, yet here we have someone who is an independent on the Democratic ballot,†Karen Gievers, attorney for the two plaintiffs, told Politico for a report filed Tuesday. "You can’t be an independent and be a member of the party.â€
Well, well, well.Looks like their commitment to a big tent and every vote counting isn't as deep as they pretend. Winning is more important to them in the end.
I never would have guessed.

You might even say this was why Debbie-Baby Schwartz tried to torpedo him in 2016 and that she was legitimate to do so. If you're not a member of the Country Club, don't be surprised if they won't serve you at the bar.

Wouldn't it be, er, "interesting" if he managed to amass a winning number of delegates and then were kept off all, or most, of the states' ballots for the same reason?
