On Monday night, I went to visit a friend of mine in her little cottage in the country. She is middle class by most standards, owns her house and has the ability to let some of her property. But she has also been doing live in care over the years.
I also work in the care sector, on relief.
She was explaining to me that she hasn't had any work for 14 months.
I said to her, "well you know why, right?". And she replied "Is it because they are using all these africans?".
I said, "well obviously that, and all the people they are bringing in from the Punjab and Pakistan".
She, just kept asking "why?". She just couldn't understand why she had been replaced.
She's a very kind and calm middle class lady. But, people get radicalized slowly one by one, as the reality of what is being done to then finally intrudes directly into their life.
I'm not worried about her, since she has alternative sources of income.
But phonecalls and texts have also dried up for me, and I only have my savings.
Yes, I could join some shitty agency. But then I am right back at square one working for not much more than minimum wage.
Who's idea was this? Displacing the native British people from the opportunity to make a decent living working in the care sector?
Last time I checked, the govt. had brought in 300,000 foreign workers in one year to specifically target the care sector.
You know when you've been tangoed.
