Defend Us in Battle

Given the terrible spiritual war we are finding ourselves in I thought this morrow might start out with the Prayer of St. Michael:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

The story behind this prayer is goes back to Pope Leo XIII in the latter 19th century. In 1881 he was celebrating mass and collapsed. When he revived he told of a horrifying vision he had of the Devil, and composed this prayer for protection.

I gave the short form version, which used to be said just after mass before the Vatican II council changed the mass form. There is a longer version which is said at exorcisms and is quiet powerful and not just a little frightening.
