Castrating Christ; the Transgendering of the Trinity

Timothy Birdnow

The Church of England has been descending into madness for some time now. The latest craziness comes from the Archbishop of Canterbury, who has declared God a eunuch.

Breitbart has the story:

"Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has said that God is "not male nor female,” after female bishops demanded the Church of England stop referring to God solely as "he.”

The head of the worldwide Anglican communion told attendees at a lecture at St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square: "All human language about God is inadequate and to some degree metaphorical.

"God is not a father in exactly the same way as a human being is a father. God is not male or female. God is not definable."

End excerpt.

This despite absolutely clear-cut language in the Bible making it incontrovertible that the First person in the Trinity is to be viewed as male (and the Second Person WAS male on this Earth).
Strange; the gender-bender Left insist that there is a range of "gender" (a misnomer for sex) and that the biological aspects are less important than the psychological ones, and yet when we say God is male they say "nuh-uh!" and shriek about how God has no physical body (even though Jesus certainly did) so He can't be a man (and we all know men are evil so Zhe just COULDN'T be, although maybe Satan is a dude.)

The article continues:

"Professor of Christian history Diarmaid MacCulloch backed Archbishop Welby’s statement, telling The Times that the reason God has been perceived as male is due to "patriarchal assumptions” of early Christian societies of Greece and Rome."

End excerpt.

Ri-ight.

Funny; I seem to remember the Book of Genesis, the earliest book of the Bible, saying "God created man in his own image" and He made a man before He made any women. Dames were Adam's idea, not Gods. God appeared to be perfectly happy with an all-male fraternal system. But Adam saw how animals reproduced and wanted to get in on the action too, so the Almighty relented and produced a gal to keep him happy.

In short, God clearly is a more male personality than some amorphous blob.

It should also be remembered that Yahweh is specifically referred to as the FATHER of Israel well before the Romans came a-calling.

See these Deut 32:6 ; Isa 63:16 ;  64:8 ; Jeremiah 3:4 Jeremiah 3:19 ; 31:9 ; Mal 1:6 ; 2:10 Exod 4:22-23 ; Deut 1:31 ; 8:5 ; 14:1 ; Psalm 103:13 ; Jer 3:22 ; 31:20 ; Hosea 11:1-4 ; Mal 3:17 2 Sam 7:14 ; 1 Chron 17:13 ; 22:10 ; 28:6 ; Psalm 68:5 ; 89:26}

Jesus always called the First Person "Father". Was Jesus then somehow brainwashed by Greco-Roman thinking? If so, why worship Jesus at all, since He was so clearly weak-minded and subverted by those evil Greeks and Romans. Jesus either had inside knowledge or He was somehow fooled. If the latter then there is no reason to be Christian.

See Mark 14:36 ; Rom 8:15-16 ; Gal 4:6

In fact, Jesus promoted the use of Abba (Father) to the point where He instructed His followers to pray:

Our Father, who art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of ambiguity there.

In the rest of the New Testament God is repeatedly referred to as Father. See Rom 1:7 ; 1 Cor 1:3 Rom 15:6Eph 5:20 Eph 5:20 for some more examples.

It is funny how sex is something based on how you feel on Earth but cannot be determined by God Himself for Himself.

Now, none of this diminishes the role of women. Far from it. In point of fact, one must keep in mind that Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, had a mother, and he gave her to the World at Calvary when He told His disciple John "Son, there is your mother". Also, one of the Commandments is "honor thy Father and Mother" which means Jesus put Himself under the authority of a human woman. This is part of the reason why Catholics venerate Mary; Catholicism does not see her as somehow the 'fourth person" of the Trinity or whatnot, but just as a saint, but a saint with extraordinary access and authority since Jesus is pledged to obey her as a good son. Mary's role in the Plan of Salvation was and is extraordinary, and it should disabuse anyone of the notion that women are somehow in a lesser role. But it does not change the fact that God has represented Himself as male, and clearly holds male characteristics. It is disgraceful and near heresy to attempt to castrate the Almighty

Deuteronomy 32:6

"Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is not He your Father who has bought you? He has made you and established you.

Isaiah 64:8

But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.

Jeremiah 3:19

"Then I said, 'How I would set you among My sons And give you a pleasant land, The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!' And I said, 'You shall call Me, My Father, And not turn away from following Me.'

Psalm 68:5

A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.n

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him
