Barr to Prosecute Constitution Violations

Timothy Birdnow

Looks like AG William Barr is on guard for gross violations of the First Amendment.

AG Barr Directs Prosecutors to Watch for Lockdown Restrictions that Violate Constitutional Rights

In a brief memorandum (pdf), Barr urgedU.S. attorneys general across the country to "be on the lookout” for state and local restrictions that could be running afoul of constitutional rights and civil liberties of individual citizens.

Those restrictions that attempt to mitigate the spread of the pandemic, he said, are "necessary,” but "there is no denying that they have imposed tremendous burdens on the daily lives of all Americans.”

Barr noted that the Justice Department(DOJ) previously issued guidance to state and local authorities explaining that even during times of emergencies, the Constitution and federal laws prohibit discrimination againstreligious institutions and religious believers.

"The legal restrictions on state and local authority are not limited to discrimination against religious institutions and religious believers,” Barr wrote. "For example, the Constitution also forbids, in certain circumstances, discrimination against disfavored speech and undue interference with the national economy.”

1 Tim, this Mr. Oxy is starting to piss me off. Big time! I'm beginning to think about learning about web design, so I can learn how to crash his site. It's obvious the DOJ isn't interested in him, unless it's just taking them a long time. I was going to say I like what the AG's doing about other things as indicated in this article, but I also wish he'd have a couple of his underlings look into illegal online drug sales.

3 And I really DO trust the AG. Anybody who has the stones to play bagpipes in public is nobody to be trifled with!

4 So true!

Dana, I tried something that seems to have stopped Oxy from posting - at least for now. If it did in fact work I'm hoping I can remember what it was I did. We'll see.

5 You should play this well-known game. Drift boss is a true driving simulator. In an infinite three-dimensional cosmos, you will be able to travel through time and space. To stay in the right lane, move the car left or right. You can be thrown off the road at any time if you have minimal driving expertise. With a group, how far will you travel? Put your pals to the test by playing with them.
