Backpacks For Life wins second prize in Veteran Small Business Award competition
Jack Kemp
The Streetshares Foundation and the Burt Williams Memorial Veteran Small
Business Award competition was decided last evening .
The finalists gave their pitch at Bourbiz at MGM National
Harbor Hotel just outside Washington, D.C. - and Backpacks For Life won the second prize of $15,000.
I wrote the following in an email to the co-founders, Brett D'Alessandro and Alexa Modero, this morning.
"Congratulations
on all your efforts paying off with getting a pretty good prize and lot
of national recognition. I think this second prize you won will lead to
some great new contacts with people in America who now know your names
and the work you do. Frankly, I believe you will be contacted by people
who think Backpacks for Life is the first place winner in their eyes.
Congratulations
once again to both of you, Alexa and Brett, on this great national
recognition of all the work and planning the achievements you have done."
