Scientists Unveiled the World's First Living Robots Last Year. Now, They Can Reproduce

Do we really want machines like this reproducing? What happens if their programming becomes garbled and they begin infecting people and, say, turning off our growth restrictions or whatnot?

Looks like Argentina's "anarcho-capitalist" isn't so right wing after all.
Argentina will stay in Paris climate agreement under Milei, negotiator says
If he won't take Argentina out of that socialist scheme, why would he do anything else to turn Argentina into a free market system?
I suspect he's just another Ruling Class plants.

The so-called "radical right wing" Suprme Court just threw out a number of lower court rulings against Biden's vaccine mandate.
The cowards didn't have the courage to sign it.
Here is why SCOTUS vacated the lower court rulings:
Now the way is open for Biden or anyone else to impose these mandates again.

Out of the desert the sandstorm comes
malformed in rage it beats the drums
to seize little children, ignoring their plea
and bury within "from the river to the sea"
"From the river to the sea" as the beasts pluck
their prey
the young women they rape, the old women they slay
no pity nor mercy, laughing as they pray
Moloch's maw gapes as as he feasts on those they slay
"From the river to the sea" with their hearts full
of glee
as the blood flows in rivers, they pay Satan his fee
sacrificing themselves to the dark witches brew
they prefer their own deaths just to kill every Jew
And as the fiery darts of the Justice of God
rains upon them they rage at the angelic rod
"From the river to the sea" like the winepress is trod
they flee in the night without staff and unshod
They hide among women, they hide with the poor
they hide in the hospitals under the floors
But they can't hide away from the wrath of His face
they cower like rodents in total disgrace
Then the bloody ones cry to the fools in the West
they claim they are victims, and demand a redress
for calamity brought on at their own behest
the ignorant fools take to beating their breast
"From the river to the sea" turns to demands for cease-fire
the wisdom of the foolish says it's time to retire
as the beasts and the fools in their judgment
conspire
The old man spoons ice cream as he watches the fire
How many must die "from the river to the sea"?
How much blood must be spilled to get them to agree
will they ever pay them back for settling their old
lands?
wherefore is the end of all of their demands?
"From the river to the sea" is something we now hear
But it is little more than a chant of death and fear
nothing will placate them, nothing will come near
and next time around all the people will cheer
All they understand is a bloody sharp knife
"death to the infidel" as
they take another life
and they will never submit, no, nor ever will they bend
this war will rage on to a terrible end.
"from the river to the sea" means Israel upon their knees.

It does not matter what accompanies that atheism...be it collectivism or Objective Reason and Extreme Individualism.
Ultimately, atheism at any critical level in any society will take that society towards collectivism.
It eventually leads to greater central power, and the restriction of individual liberty.
Always
No exceptions.
There is no freedom from God. Apart from our Creator, evil fills the void. Either blatant tyrannical evil, or evil that begins with a smile and a promise of a utopia.
Tim adds:
Amen. Eventually "freedom" will necessitate government enforcing it without the concept of God and Natural Law. And what one sees as freedom is as good as another, and so whoever can acquire the most political power to get their way is the "freest" in the minds of theatheist.

So Donald Trump jokes about being "dictator for one day" and the media loses it's mind.
I would say these people are thick but I am certainl they understand it was a joke; they just despise the man so much that they take any opportunity to attack him.
Case in point.
Some fellow Republicans insisted that Trump was joking about his plans to be dictator for a day, with Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) describing the remarks as "part of his appeal … that authenticity.”
But for autocracy scholars and constitutional law experts, Trump’s statements raised alarms that he had thought carefully about how to consolidate the levers of power should he return to office in ways that eluded him in his first four years in the White House.
The comments — which he reiterated at a dinner in New York City on Saturday night — are part of a pattern for Trump, who has made several statements suggesting that he could use extraconstitutional powers to enact his agenda. Late last year, Trump, who is the leading contender for the Republican nomination, called on his social network Truth Social for terminating "all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” in a post on his social network Truth Social.
Since leaving the White House in 2021, Donald Trump has said he would approach a second term as president with an expansive view of executive branch authority. (Video: JM Rieger/The Washington Post, Photo: Jabin Botsford/The Washington Post)
But scholars say that even without violating the letter of the law, Trump would have access to broad powers granted to him as chief of the executive branch. He does not need to become a dictator to subvert democracy, they say: He can simply use the tools of democracy to do so.
"With Trump, the line between provocation and prevarication is always blurry,” said David Pozen, professor of law at Columbia Law School. "I think we should take that ‘dictator’ comment seriously as a window into his mind-set, and an admission of his authoritarian designs, even if the precise policy implications are unclear — even to him.”
End excerpt.
And yet nary a word about some of the things Joe Biden has done, including colluding with social media to censor Conservatives, imprisoning people without trial for two, three years in violation of habeas corpus, in simply rewriting law to allow him to do as he pleases, etc.
The media knows full well who the dictator is and who is not.
Donald Trump did nothing illegal when he was President. He scrupulously obeyed the law, even when it was most inconvenient. For example, Trump offered the national guard to places like Portland but did not send them in when Oregon refused to stop the violence there because the Constitution did not grant him the authority to do so.
Whenever a court struck down a policy of his he obeyed. He appealed but did not just ignore the ruling as Joe Biden has repeatedly done.
WaPo knows this too. But the best way to get awway with something is to accuse your enemy of doing what you are doing.
So a joke about being a dictator from day one is solemnly stated as a policy position for Trump. In other words they are liars.
The article continues:
End
So it's just fine to go after Trump and his people but Trump isn't allowed to return the favor?
How is appointing a special prosecutor, who is outside of the authority of the President, some sort of abuse of power?
How is the Heritage Foundation a fascist entity? Not long ago Democrats were heaping praise on them for providing the blueprint for Obamacare.
Oh the horror! And we all know Joe Biden and Barack Obama never did that! I suppose Obamacare was passed with enthusiastic Republican support? I guess Biden just put up Build Back Better and then let it stand on it's own weight without help from him? I guess Mr. Biden didn't just close ANWAR to oil driling with the help of Republicans?
This part really is a belly-laugher:
"I know of zero dictators who became more democratic,” said Ben-Ghiat, a professor of history and Italian studies at New York University. "That’s not how autocrats behave.”
It’s also rare for autocrats to give up power through a democratic process, she said. She cited Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, who tortured and killed Chileans for nearly 17 years before being voted out of office, as one exception.
End excerpt.
I agree; and Joe Biden will probably not be willing to leave office, which is why he'll steal 2024 as surely as he stole 2020.
This is all projection and faux fear. It's a desperate attempt to gin up the Democrats into a spasm, an orgy of spittle-flying Trump rage.

I reveal a disturbing nationwide pattern of home break-ins, implicating foreign crime rings and lax immigration policies under the Biden Administration. Addressing the media’s failure to spotlight this crisis as a national issue, I question the political motives behind this silence. This widespread criminal phenomenon threatens our communities, raising urgent questions about public safety, border security, and the accountability of those…

Trump is a threat to democracy we’re told while this administration works secretly behind the scenes using our tax dollars to crush free speech! Dictators silence opposing views and that’s what Blinken and the state department have been doing! They have stomped on and subverted the constitution. while blaming Trump and conservatives of what they’re doing! Isn’t that exactly what Marxists are told to do! The state department has been a useless, rogue agency for a long time! Pompeo did good work but too many deep state bureaucrats are dug in there & it’s time to get rid of that subversive agency!

And the government wonders why people have no faith in our elections! How screwed up is AZ that they require proof of citizenship to vote in state & federal elections but if you don’t have proof of citizenship you can only vote in federal elections! So you have to be a citizen to vote for the mayor but if you’re here illegally you can vote for president?!! This is ridiculous & it’s why people don’t trust the sketchy elections!

Excellent piece regarding coercion by HHS forcing compelled speech on doctors treating patients with gender dysphoria! They are being required to falsify patients medical records to align with gender identity rather than reality putting patients at risk! Women don’t get prostate cancer but doctors could miss diagnose a patient telling them they’re a woman! There are a couple of excellent videos in this article, especially the one done by alliance defending freedom at the end of the article. This organization is a good place to donate to because they’re fighting back against this insanity! This idiotic change to HHS was done after supposedly moderate Joe was installed! Our entire language & culture is being changed by radical ideologues to compel acceptance of the trans ideology whether we agree or not!

Jim Grant has been tracking the ins and outs of Federal Reserve policy and its effects on the economy and markets in his famed newsletter, Grant’s Interest Rate Observer, for over 40 years. The always bow-tied and often staunchly skeptical economic historian has made a name for himself with some pretty prophetic forecasts ahead of past financial calamities, including the Global Financial Crisis.
Now, in an interview with Fortune, Grant lays out his fears that another potential disaster is on the horizon. After roughly a decade of near-zero interest rates, he argues, the U.S. economy developed a debt problem—one likely to end badly now that higher interest rates are here to stay. The inevitable fallout from the end of the "free money era” has yet to be felt fully, Grant warns.
Read full interview here:
The Fed watcher who called the 2007 housing bubble expects interest rates to stay high for ‘much, much, much longer.’ It’s payback for the unsustainable ‘free money era’

Almost all of the current oil drilling is happening on private land, not on public land. Biden has yet again restricted ANWAR after courts ordered he honor the agreement made under Trump to open them.
He never met an oil well he didn't want to close.
Biden pushed banks to stop making loans to oil companies. And he talked down investments. His promise to end oil as our priamry energy was intended to spook investors and oil is futures based so that is critical. He also tied up vast swaths of land, banning drilling (such as in ANWAR).
He did approve a lot of leases but the wayhe did it was sneaky. It takes multiple leases to get a field to actually produce.Biden would approve one lease but not the one next to it. As fracking requires horizontal drilling it simply tied up the field without allowing oil to be produced. Then Biden could claim he has approved leaases but the oil companies "refuse" to produce! In fact they CAN'T because they can't turn the drills. Most of the oil production by American companies has been on private lands outside of Biden's ability to stop the companies from drilling as they must.

So Elizabeth "Magilla Gorilla" Magill has resigned as PMS Matriarch, er, President of state Penn, er, U Penn, over her comments made to the House where she said promoting genocide would only be punished on a case-to-case basis "depending on the circumstances".
Now, crazy eyes here (man, she has those crazy eyes!) no doubt promotes every snowflake complaint against microaggressions, up to and including using the preferred pronouns, but she is unwilling to say promoting murder and genocide is not acceptable at her mossy little fiefdom.
She is a moral and spiritual monster. Sadly I don't think she's an outlier in Academia.
Would she not kick out Nazis on campus? Klansmen? Trump supporters? If yes to any of these she has no grounds for protecting Hamas-lovers.
But what do we expect? Muslim countries donated millions to American higher education.
According to City Journal:
" Between 2014 and 2020, Muslim-majority countries together donated $4.86 billion to American higher-educational institutions, representing 29 percent of all foreign donations. Qatar and Saudi Arabia were responsible for much of this largesse."
End excerpt.
They aren't donating that money because they want to help America be the best it can be.
Is it any wonder we are seeing huge Pro-Hamas protests on college campuses now?
China is funding these universities too.
And U Penn received noless than $258 MILLION dollars from foreign entities. 2.7 million of that came last year from Saudi Arabia.
So is it any wonder Magilla was scrambling in that testimony? She feared angering her big donors.
I was watching Fox News Sunday and that dimwit Juan "Huh" Williams was trying to excuse this as simply poor language skills! Not that she doesn't agree with the Jew haters, or that she's whoring for dollars. No sir! It's just that a woman whose job is to speak and give public addresses is a poor communicator!
While Magill quit as President she will remain on the faculty. That is unacceptable. She needs to be drummed out of education as awarning to others. But of course our side is always too gentlemanly, and we will be satisfied. If things were reversed and a college president said she wouldn't kick Klansmen off campus they would see she learned good communication skills when she asks "do you want fries with that?"
Congress needs to ban any and all foreign funding of colleges or any education in the U.S. And they need to defund U Penn. After all, they were at the center of Joe Biden's documents scandal and seem to have been helping Mr. Biden launder money. Is it any wonder Biden has been pushing so hard for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas (which in reality would be a unilateral surrender by Israel.)
This is what colleges have become. Is it any wonder America is shrinking faster than a bag of cocaine at a Hunter Biden party?
