So conversion therapy - the psychological practice that seeks to help people suffering from same sex attraction, is outlawed in no fewer than 20 states (including, amazingly, Utah) and the District of Columbia.

This is a voluntary practice whereby those with such issues - sometimes at the behest of their parents - are treated for their sexual desires.

I don't know about the effectiveness of this, but nobody is forcing anyone into it.

I will add that all societies in history have rejected homosexuality and did what it could to discourage it. Yes, there were a couple of outliers - particularly notable was the Greek Golden Age (which lasted just about fifty years) where older men sometimes sodomized young boys. But the Golden Age didn't last long, and the Greeks gained a dreadful reputation thereafter for it. One wonders if the era wouldn't have lasted much longer had it not been for this and other rather unsavory practices.

Indeed, gay marriage has only existed since 2001 when the Netherlands legalized it. It is a new thing in human civilization.

But let me get to the point. Our liberal friends promote abortion, and had a conniption when the Supreme Court overturned the radical and unsupportable national mandate that was Roe V. Wade. We were told abortion is a "right" - one not found anywhere in the Constitution or in Natural Law or in any historical precedent, but we were told it was a right because a radical Court found it in some mythical "penumbra".

So a woman has a right to an abortion, and we are not supposed to "tell her what she can do with her body" but the government is free to tell people what they can do with their own minds?

Conversion therapy is entirely voluntary and is about control of one's own mind and psyche. If a person chooses to NOT be gay and wants help controlling their sexual lusts, who are we to say no? A "woman's right to choose" disregards the child involved, the wishes of the father, or the grandparents. Conversion therapy involves a person, his or her therapist, and their God. But we can't have it, no sir, because it does not comport with the template of our good Progressive friends who want to promote the notion that it is genetic (no "gay gene" has ever been found, nor does that make a lick of evolutionary sense as such a gene would breed itself out of the gene pool) and that it is uncontrollable and therefore society must change to acomodate the gay person rather than the gay person showing restraint or at minimum discretion.

It was the success of the gay movement that spawned the "trans" movement that is destroying so many lives today. And this will spawn ever more disturbing movements. Pedophilia is waiting in the wings.

The Marquis de Sade is best known for enjoying the sexual torture of women, but he was far more than that. He advocated for a libertinism that was at the core of the so-called Free Love Movement in the 19th century. He wanted sex to be as common as eating or drinking. A lot of the degenerate upper classes jumped at the chance to new world where anything and everything goes.

And even the appearance of "petty bourgeois morality" had to go. That's been the program since the "sexual revolution" and even before.

It is ultimately an assault on Christianity. The New Testament echoes the Old here, which condemns such behavior as soul-killing. But, as Charles Darwin once accused, Christianity is a "damnable doctrine" because it says we cannot do whatever we please. That is the bane of all modernity; the idea we aren't God and cannot choose whatsoever we please.

We shouldn't want to be God; it's too much work. And God knows what is best for us. It may not be what we want, any more than a child wants to go to school or eat his broccoli.

At any rate, the sexual vandalism of modernity is aimed at creating a new man, one self-willed and who determines right and wrong. It's basically the sin of Lucifer.

And sex is one of the cornerstones of human existence. Twist our sense of sexuality and we twist the minds of those who reject the traditional values.

So our friends on the Left want abortion on demand (because it empowers the de Sadian sexual revolution) and at the same time reject efforts to temper out of control sexual appetites.

Yes, it benefits many politically, but it is a form of societal vandalism, something that will lead to civilizational collapse in the end. We won't stop at homosexuality, indeed we haven't stopped there. We are now talking about multiple sexes and how men can get pregnant. Once we go to the other forbidden fruits - pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, Sado-masochism, etc. we will completely dismantle all the restraints which keep our civilization in control. Then everyone will be like the worst criminals, deciding what they want right and wrong to be.

And those who oppose this will be vilified as haters and somehow twisted prudes and will be shunned or worse. Probably a lot worse. Remember the Christians and the lions?

America and the West is returning to the worst sort of paganism imaginable. There will be a terrible price to be paid.
