Faux Charity

Daniel Jupp

"A man is to carry himself in the presence of all opposition, as if everything were titular and ephemeral but he. I am ashamed to think how easily we capitulate to badges and names, to large societies and dead institutions. Every decent and well-spoken individual affects and sways me more than is right. I ought to go upright and vital, and speak the rude truth in all ways. If malice and vanity wear the coat of philanthropy, shall that pass? If an angry bigot assumes this bountiful cause of Abolition, and comes to me with his last news from Barbadoes, why should I not say to him, "Go love thy infant; love thy wood-chopper: be good-natured and modest: have that grace; and never varnish your hard, uncharitable ambition with this incredible tenderness for black folk a thousand miles off. Thy love afar is spite at home.” Rough and graceless would be such greeting, but truth is handsomer than the affectation of love.

Your goodness must have some edge to it—else it is none. The doctrine of hatred must be preached as the counteraction of the doctrine of love when that pules and whines…..do not tell me, as a good man did today, of my obligation to put all poor men in good situations. Are they my poor? I tell thee, thou foolish philanthropist, that I grudge the dollar, the dime, the cent, I give to such men as do not belong to me and to whom I do not belong. There is a class of persons to whom by all spiritual affinity I am bought and sold; for them I will go to prison, if need be; but your miscellaneous popular charities; the education at college of fools; the building of meeting-houses to the vain end to which many now stand; alms to sots; and the thousandfold Relief Societies—though I confess with shame I sometimes succumb and give the dollar, it is a wicked dollar which by and by I shall have the manhood to withhold.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance.

Emerson was warning against the stupidity of fake compassion, suicidal altruism, charity for enemies and strangers before the interests of your own, polite sanctimony above rude truth, the decline of manhood and self reliance, and everything that would become woke attitudes of contempt for your own…..in 1841.

The current madness has some roots to it.

Tim adds:

It certainly explains this refusal to close our borders; we think we owe it to the whole world to let them come into the U.S. and take what they have not earned from us.

The Trump Agenda

Diane Kimura

The agenda presents a refreshing departure from the usual proposals from presidential candidates of both political parties for more government involvement in almost every public policy issue and the mindset that government is the necessary solution to every problem.

Trump deserves credit for proposing a new vision and new policy ideas for ending America’s dependence on a bloated and arrogant federal government that has grown too powerful, too abusive, and too corrupt.

The ten new policies proposed by Trump at the rally:

1. End the weaponization of government and the abuse of law enforcement against political opponents.

2. Protect free speech and our First Amendment rights and fight against government-imposed censorship.

3. End the corruption of the military-industrial complex and expel "warmongers” within the foreign policy and intelligence communities.

4. Curtail the power of the federal bureaucracy with the improved ability to remove and replace entrenched bureaucrats and return regulatory policy decisions to Congress.

5. Establish a Government Efficiency Commission with Elon Musk to conduct a financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.

6. Abolish the U.S. Department of Education and return education policies to the states and local parent-teacher associations free of federal mandates.

7. Abolish diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) human resource policies and return to the principle of merit.

8. Establish a commission with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to end the corruption of the medical-industrial complex, including the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization.

9. Push for legislation with Congress to pass sweeping lobbying reforms to prevent foreign influence-peddling of US government officials.

10. Push for a modification of the 25th Amendment to add an impeachment clause if the vice president engages in a conspiracy to hide the incapacity of the US president.

Greater detail for each of the above proposals needs to be articulated and will be provided in a future article.

The list came from Trump's campaign rally in Mosinee, WI last Saturday, September 9, 2024

"Our country is a failing nation right now,” Trump told supporters at his rally. "Over the past four years, our country has seen the sickness and corruption of the Washington swamp exposed like never before.”

The Many Lies of Kamala Harris

25 Lies Kamala Harris Told In Her Debate Against Trump

And they accused Trump of lying in his debate with Biden! Typical; accuse others of that which you are most guilty.

Greenland Had Far less Ice Just a Few Thousand Years Ago

Jim Church

Few people know that half of Greenland's ice has formed over the past 4000 years as the Earth began to cool following the end of the Holocene Thermal Maximum (HTM).

Aerial surveillance using ice penetrating radar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0VbPE0TOtQ) has been able to identify distinct layers corresponding to ice that has formed during the current neoglacial phase of the Holocene Interglacial, as well as the residual ice from the Last Glacial Maximum that did not melt during the HTM, together with the very small residual ice left over from the Eemain Thermal Maximum (ETM). The ETM was the peak state of warming in the Eemain Interglacial, which is known from paleorecords to have been significantly warmer than the HTM. Whatever ice has melted in Greenland over the past couple of decades, pales in comparison to the ice that melted during either the ETM or HTM.

Of course, this implies that "global average" sea levels were AT LEAST 3 meters higher during the HTM than today.

Tim adds:

They've found Viking villages under melting ice caps. It's clear a large swath of Greenland was once far more habitable than now.

Are AI Evil?

Carlos F Velázquez

Stuff like this article is why so many smart people, not understanding the technology to even a small degree, assume AI is the spawn of the devil. As a famous science fiction author said, "any sufficiently advanced technology will look like magic (paraphrasing)." And we all know that magic is biblically prohibited.

But AI is not magic. The foundations for AI were written in scientific papers on neural networks almost one hundred years ago. What needed to happen and has happened was the development and creation of super fast computers and digital storage systems of high capacity and speed.

I can personally affirm that the level of apparent intelligence and knowledge of AI is beyond anything that I ever could have imagined. Nor anyone else.

I have shown chats on certain Christian topics to a seminary professor who said it was amazingly on point, or words to that effect. Frankly, if I had not prompted the AI chatbot myself and read what it responded, I would have thought it was the work of a highly educated and knowledgeable biblical scholar.

Yes, I know the devil can quote the Bible and misapply it for evil purposes. But that's not what happened in my example. Can AI be used for evil? Yes, absolutely. Any tool can be used for evil. A surgeon's scalpel can save a life or take a life in the hands of an evil person. Cars and vehicles have been driven by evil people into crowds with the intent to end lives. The wheel was invented in pre-biblical times and used for peaceful transport and for war chariots. By both pagans and God's people.

Woman asks ChatGPT to analyze her date's texts, left speechless by response
newsweek.com

Tim adds:

While the technology itself may not be inherently evil (any more than an atomic bomb is evil in and of itself) but the human heart most definitely is and these machines can and often do reflect the thoughts and desires of their creators.

I am mindful of the Tower of Babel in the Book of Genesis. Was building a big tower evil? Normally no but in that context it was because of the purpose to which it was intended; to ascend to Heaven and seek equality with God. I fear that these AI gizmos are ultimately intended for that same purpose. They are an attempt by Man to create a new god for himself.

Yes, Arthur C. Clark did say any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. And there is a difference between technology and magic, no question. But at what point do the two overlap? We live in an era of witchcraft via science. Transgenderism being the most obvious example; we believe these days an act of will can change a fundamental biological condition, and we use science to serve that magical purpose. AI may bot be witchcraft in and of itself but it certainly makes witchcraft a whole lot easier.

Isaac Asimov wrote a story "The Last Question" about a world-girdling AI called Multivac. Over the course of history people asked the last question "can entropy be reversed". In the end Multivac finds a way; it becomes God and creates the universe. While an interesting story from the atheist Asimov (whom I enjoy reading, or used to when I could see to read) it bespeaks the arrogance of the HUMAN heart, that we can create God. That is, I fear, where this AI stuff is heading.

And everything in the Book of Revelations, about "all eyes will be upon them" and about the complete control the Antichrist has of his slaves, the cashless economy and the works, can only be achieved through these types of computer AI's. The machines themselves may not be evil in themselves but their creators certainly are.

I suspect in the Kingdom Age technology will be a lot more limited. Technology is a tool to circumvent the curse put on Mankind by God in the book of Genesis. It is not evil in itself; in fact God probably is pleased by efforts to improve the lot of Man's neighbors (as indeed that is no small part of the reason for our lives, I suspect) but technology has always been misused. The first guy who sharpened a stick and stabbed the man he was robbing abused technology. And we've abused it ever since. But in the Kingdom Age God Himself will do for us what technology has done. I suspect people will realize how badly it has served us over the centuries not because it is in and of itself bad but because we cannot be trusted with it - like babies with razor blades, it inevitably cuts us.

At any rate there is no stopping this technology. Those who do not embrace it will perish. That is why I believe time is running out for Mankind. We created a new god and the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will inevitably take action against this false deity.

BTW writer Larry Niven once wrote a story about an AI. It was after aliens had visited Earth and the dominant aliens (all of whom went to the Draco Tavern) sold plans for an AI to the tavern owner. They never used them "machines should be proper servants". The AI wasted huge amounts of the hero's money, and in the end just shut itself off, apparently a common problem with those machines which is why the aliens didn't use them. The machines just grew bored over time, dealing with what were to them dimwitted biological intelligences. Then of course there was Skynet...

The Radical Kamala

John F. Di Leo

this evening, of the most presumably extreme accusations that President Trump leveled on Kamala Harris was her extremism in such craziness as supporting taxpayer funded gender reassignment surgery for illegal aliens.

You listen to a thing like that and you figure, OK he’s exaggerating again. That’s crazy. Nobody would go that far. It’s nuts.

Well, it’s absolutely right. She is that extreme. It’s how she answered a question on an ACLU questionnaire five years ago, when she was a US senator from California.

The evidence is in the first comment below, in today’s AT article by Andrea Widburg.

That’s just one example. I thought would begin with that one. But for those of you who don’t know how unbelievably extreme this Marxist dingbat is, Please read the article.

Kamala Harris’s radicalism is so extreme even CNN’s Erin Burnett was shocked

The Gold Standard of Atmospheric CO2

This courtesy of Jim Church:

Repost Joseph Fournier, LinkedIn

From the early 19th century to the middle of the 20th, the gold standard for measuring atmospheric CO2 concentrations was chemical titration.

This titration method was replaced in 1958 by spectroscopic methods, which now forms the basis of the famous Keeling Curve (https://lnkd.in/gDmdRztF).

Shown here is a comparison of atmospheric CO2 measurements produced by both chemical titration (purple) and by ice core samples (red).

Note the very close agreement in estimates in the early 1920s and in the 1950s, together with the very large disagreement in estimate atmospheric CO2 concentrations in between.

The names associated with the purple curve are the authors from which published their chemical titration results during the first half of the 20th century. These values were obtained from numerous locations scattered across the Northern Hemisphere.

The problem here is self evident.

Chemical titration results are remarkably similar to air temperature trends across the Northern Hemisphere during the first half of the 20th century, while ice core CO2 estimates do not.

Most importantly, historical CO2 measurements using chemical titration methods shows that atmospheric CO2 concentration values are on par with those measured today using spectroscopic methods.

See Greenland's historical air temperature records below to verify that air temperatures were also similar in the 1940s to present day.

The fact that chemical titration records for the Northern Hemisphere are aligned with air temperatures, while ice core samples are not, in my mind represents a serious flaw in mainstream claims that the later is better representative of the dynamically changing atmospheric CO2 composition since the early 19th century to present.

I for one reject answers that can not be questioned and will tend to accept questions without an answer if forced to make a choice between the two.

Here is a detailed white paper that outlines the historical record on the use of chemical titrations in measuring atmospheric CO2 concentrations. Note that the author is highly biased towards chemical titration. Make up your own mind.

We'll Breed Them Out

Diane Kimura

The survival of Christian-based nations and the traditional nuclear family feels more under threat than ever, and many argue that mass immigration is being used to weaken the core values these societies were built on. It’s not just about borders and numbers—it’s about a larger agenda that seems to be dismantling the very foundations that hold communities together, from faith to culture and identity.

Think about King Edward Longshanks in *Braveheart* and his infamous line: "If we can't drive them out, we will breed them out." He understood that conquering a people wasn't just about taking land; it was about diluting their culture, their spirit, and their identity over time. And that’s what feels eerily familiar today. Instead of direct conflict, there’s a sense that mass immigration, driven by globalist policies, is changing the character of Christian-based societies, not by force but by slow erosion.

It’s not about rejecting diversity or fearing change—it’s about recognizing when the cultural glue that holds a society together is being stretched to a breaking point. The nuclear family, a cornerstone of stability for generations, is facing immense pressure from competing ideologies, social changes, and a world that’s increasingly disconnected from traditional values. Faith and shared beliefs, which once anchored communities, are being watered down by ideologies that blur the lines of morality and identity.

The real issue here isn’t just about immigration itself but about the philosophy behind it. Christian-based nations were built on shared values—faith, family, and a sense of continuity. Globalism, however, seems to promote a vision that overlooks those roots in favor of a borderless, cultureless society. The result? Immigration becomes less about integration and more about shifting societal values, pulling these countries away from the Christian principles that have shaped them for centuries.

Protecting these values isn’t about resisting progress; it’s about preserving the things that allow nations to thrive: strong families, shared beliefs, and cultural identity. If we don’t pay attention, we might find ourselves like Longshanks' Scotland—not conquered by force, but slowly losing what makes us who we are. The fight for the future isn’t just political—it’s about preserving the spirit and values that define our communities.

The problem with Scotland - Braveheart
youtube.com

Tim adds:

Agreed. The culutural elites in the West have long resented our Judeo-Christian culture as it doesn't allow them to act as they wish and doesn't put them in charge. They see it as a doctrine of slaves and fools - read Marx and Engels on the subject, or Mussolini, or any other radical.

Ultimately it goes back to sexuality, and their vision of sex as an everyday activity, like taking a shower or eating lunch (which came from the Marquis de Sade). They want a society where everyone sleeps with everyone else all the time for amusement and think the Christian values are prudish and old fashioned and want them gone. So they are trying - consciously - to destroy the Western Christians culture by bringing in people from elsewhere.

In their arrogance they believe they can control this population with free stuff and shiny objeccts. The Romans thought the same but were disabused of that notion by reality.

BTW Selwyn Duke made this same observation, the similarities with Braveheart, a number of years ago. He and Diane are both right. This is exactly what Replacement Theory is.

The Illegal Alien Vote

Timothy Birdnow

Yes, illegal aliens do vote and the DOJ is admitting it.

FTA:

On Thursday, the DOJ announced that Angelica Maria Francisco, a 42-year-old native of Guatemala, has been assessed nine charges involving false claims of citizenship in connection with voting, false statements in application for a United States passport, use of a United States passport obtained by false statements, and aggravated identity theft, according to the DOJ press release.

Authorities believe that sometime around 2011, Francisco assumed the identity of an American citizen and used that false identity to obtain an American passport. She then allegedly used that passport to travel back and forth to Guatemala in 2012, 2015, and 2018 before renewing the passport and visiting Guatemala again in 2022.

Francisco also allegedly used the false identity to register to vote in Alabama in 2016 and to vote in the 2016 and 2020 primary and general elections, the DOJ claimed.

The Repulsive Donald Trump Dilemma

Jules Kunofsky

America has an historical upcoming election (and debate) between an ex-President and a current Vice-President. If you are old enough to read this post, you need to realize how different THE REST of your life will be based on who wins the election. Do I need to include the effect on the lives of your children and grandchildren?

A good percentage of the country hates Donald Trump, a loudmouth rich New Yorker. They find him repugnant and disgusting. His loathsome and distasteful reputation has been fueled by a one-side politically controlled media. The audience of this one-side politically controlled media are NOT politically astute, they do not have an ability to notice and understand things clearly. Therefore, they are willing to believe the repeated brainwashed lies about a man that literally has a target on himself. The Russian hoax, the Hunter laptop and a host of other media proven lies are still believed by a large segment of the brainwashed voting public. Words of a Trump speech or statement or phone call are parsed in a way to change the meaning to mean the opposite of the truth.

Why? I’ll tell you why.

Donald Trump is intellectually brilliant. He has an exceptional level of intelligence, creativity, and cognitive ability that sets him apart from his peers. Donald Trump also has shown an uncanny capacity for deep and original thinking, problem-solving , and the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly and effectively. The Problem is Donald Trump is a braggart, a very boastful and talkative person that exhibits self-importance . People dislike or are jealous of him. The Conundrum is that Donald Trump had 4 incredible years as President of The United States. Trump, being a self-made man, did not become President to make money. He could not be bought. He did not even take a salary. He was thrust into the "politician” role and surrounded by a corrupt, bloated governmental system that was bleeding the peoples Treasury blind. He was a dealmaker that enjoyed the challenge of global dealmaking with ruthless dictators that previously took advantage of America’s political corruption. The ruthless dictators joined with Trump’s media enemies to destroy the man. Trump, nevertheless, understood the complex US economy and its needs, especially energy. He understood the importance of having minorities, especially people of color, getting the chance of the American dream. He understood the Constitution and what equality means. He understood that Capitalism is the greatest wealth creating system in the history of the world. He understood the meaning of hard work and education.

Donald Trump is human, he has his faults and as I previously said, those faults have been exaggerated by a cabal of powerful enemies. They spied on him, lied about him, bent the justice system laws to indict him, used anti-Trump prosecutors and judges that should have recused themselves, tried to take his money and property, raided his house as if he were a terrorist leader, and who knows who tried to assassinate him. Each attempt to defeat him, humiliate him, bankrupt him, jail him and kill him have FAILED. His base has become stronger and now sees him as a victim of corruption for just entering the dangerous political game.

Which brings us to the "Dilemma”. America NEEDS Trump more than Trump needs America. At this very point in time, we need a secure border, we need to get crime under control, we need food and other necessities’ prices to go down, we need homes that are affordable, we need affordable energy, we need global deals that are fair to America, we need a strong military, AND we need a loud mouth braggart that understands economics and believes in the people of America. That person is Donald Trump!!!!! The opposition offers failure. Failure at the border, failure at law and order, failure at National Security, failure at economics, failure at controlling global wars, and many, many more failures. In fact, I can’t think of any real success stories of the Biden/Harris 3 ½ years. I’ll take the Repulsive Donald Trump any day of the week.

Inmates Running the Asylum

Diane M. Kimura

The inmates are running the asylum.

Johanna King-Slutsky, who absurdly stated that Columbia University had an obligation to bring meal plans and drinks to students who violently took over Hamilton Hall with hammers, destroyed the interiors of the building and illegally detained a building janitor - on Columbia’s campus this past Spring - is now a Professor teaching a mandatory class at Columbia in the same Hamilton Hall this fall!

Back in May, King-Slutsky took questions from reporters, as if she was some kind of legitimate spokesperson for criminals, and made the following ridiculous statement:

"I guess it’s ultimately a question of what kind of community and obligation Columbia feels it has to its students,” King-Slutzky said in a video posted on X. "Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill even if they disagree with you? If the answer is no, then you should allow basic … I mean, it’s crazy to say because we’re on an Ivy League campus, but this is basic humanitarian aid we’re asking for, like could people please have a glass of water?”

Now this person is teaching "Contemporary Western Civilization” to all of those students who spent their entire childhoods working to get into an "Ivy League” school.

This is a sad joke and a terrible indictment of where Columbia is as an institution. Someone who actively defends violent and illegal actions shouldn’t be teaching anyone anything.
