This from Tony Heller at Realclimate:
During 1953, Harrisburg, Illinois had 100 days over 90F. Last year they 42 days over 90F. The percent of hot afternoons has plummeted in Illinois over the past ninety years.

The Inside Scoop About How Covid and Affirmative Action Policy Gutted Aviation Safety
Back around 1990 I took the air traffic controller exam. I did VERY well, and the letter they sent me said I was absolutely qualified to be an air traffic controller BUT there was a hiring freeze, and any new controllers hired would have to be over a hundred percent on the test (which was possible because ex military got ten points automatically - fair enough - but women and minorities did likewise.) So I never did get the job. I was squeezed out by political correctness.
So someone with a poorer score than me probably got the job I was qualified to do. This has been going on for a LONG time.
It's probably for the best; I'm not a calm person and I might have cracked under the pressure (although I'm usually very calm in an emergency situation, oddly enough). But that's not the point; the point is I was bumped because of the color of my skin and the shape of my body.
DEI just metastasized this. It is deadly, as it is now being proven. We have to go back to a merit-based system. Or many more will die.
But to the Left you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet...

Probably. But certainly it will never wind up taking Obama down. Holder maybe.
Unearthed video: Did Obama and Eric Holder get paid to rig court cases?
Eric Holder should have been pursued to the ends of the Earth by the GOP. He was corrupt and he abused his power. There were multiple examples of criminality by Holder. But the GOP wouldn't even convict him of Contempt of Congress for doing what they sent Steve Bannon to prison for doing. Worse actually. They listen to Karl Rove still and let bygones be bygones. That is foolish; if someone transgresses the law they should be punished. Leave an enemy at your back and you will regret it. Holder was and is an enemy.
Prosecuting him wouldn't be retribution, it would be justice.
From the Revolver article:
The video was posted by an account "Against the Giants,” and it exposes a shocking timeline that suggests Big Tech, the Obama regime, and his DOJ may have colluded to rig our nation’s courts.
The building blocks of the left’s lawfare?
This disturbing story centers around a small, relatively unknown innovator who developed some cutting-edge wireless technology—and then had it allegedly stolen by Qualcomm.
When he sued for patent infringement, the court ruled in his favor.
But here’s where things get deeply disturbing and very interesting…
In shocking twist, that decision was mysteriously overturned right after Eric Holder’s DOJ was caught tracking the case. Suspicious? Yes. But there’s more…
The White House Executive Office was apparently busted visiting the inventor’s website, specifically looking at information related to the lawsuit against Qualcomm.
This has many people asking some very serious questions: Did the company Qualcomm grease the wheels inside the Obama regime to protect their billion-dollar empire?
Many would argue that the dots are connecting fast and furious (pun intended).
And to make matters more curious, Qualcomm’s founder met with Obama White House officials just days before the case was overturned, raising more concerns that perhaps campaign cash or political favors may have been exchanged for some favorable court rulings.
Take a look for yourself:
Big tech’s betrayal of America — unveiled.
Inside the untold story of how big tech giant Qualcomm ripped-off one of the most important patented innovations in American history and shipped it off to China with the help from the US government.
Did the Obama Admin provide cover? pic.twitter.com/bOvjq6Zv27
— Against the Giants (@Against_Giants) January 30, 2025
If this is true, it means Big Tech and the government worked together to rig the courts, crush competition, and sell out American innovators—and they did it while China swooped in and profited from stolen US technology."
We know this sort of thing goes on and has through history. We've seen some very suspicious actions by, say, the Clinton Administration back then (but the public didn't want to pursue it any more than they wanted to pursue the Obama folks). But if we find this is true then it at least goes back to Holder.
I suspect it's just the tip of the iceberg too.
Since these people went after Donald Trump they opened the door to politics by lawsuit and we must respond in kind. Mutual Assured Destruction. The only way to end this is to make it clear nobody comes out ahead in the end. The GOP has never understood that. They think if they unilaterally disarm the other side will too. Like the old Nuclear Feeze crowd, they believe we are all the same. We aren't. Until we disarm the Democrats they will keep coming. We can take this weapon out of their hands by employing it ourselves. In fact it's the only way to stop it.
Eric Holder was Obama's "wing man" and has a lot of things he can be charged with. Time for the Republicans to charge!

Time to bring back the old women driver jokes...
Fox News identifies helicopter pilots involved in crash… female pilot in command, male crew chief…
Back in the 90's my brother taught college level history courses on Navy ships. There was a big push to get female aviators into the service. They changed the rules for these chicks. They called "downs" on them less (a down is an observational demerit for a bad landing) and gave the gals extra downs before they were benched. There was an incident that was a major news story where this allegedly ace woman pilot crashed. Brian got the story from people directly involved; she was crying because she was having trouble and eventually turned off her radio so the controllers couldn't hear her freakout. In other words she may have had the technical skill but lacked the emotional control needed for this top gun slot.
I get it. I always thought I'd have made a great pilot too but would have washed out as a fighter pilot because I wouldn't be able to keep my head under the pressure, I don't believe. But that's why I would never have tried for that in the first place. As Clint Eastwood said "a man has to know his limitations". Sadly women and minorities don't and are encouraged not to under the theory that there is a white male patriarchy and So many are pushed into roles for which they just aren't suited. I strongly suspect this chopper pilot is one example.
There were plenty of other examples of this. My brother told me women techs were assigned grunts to carry their toolboxes (which weigh a hundred pounds) since they obviously were not strong enough. So it takes two people to do the job one MAN can do. And one of them is a man.
You don't win wars that way. It becomes a hobby activity, like Junior ROTC.
And the exercise regimen had a lower bar. Women didn't have to do chinups. They had to do fewer situps and other such exercises.
Just because somebody wants to do something doesn't automatically mean they have a right to do it. I'll never play in the NBA. I'd make a lousy politician (can't remember names and faces and don't like to gladhand). I would bomb as a mathematician. I have come to terms with that; it's who and what I am and God has blessed me with different talents. I'll think of one of them by tomorrow, maybe.
The point is women can have a place in the military, but we've got to be realistic. If they are going for a given job they MUST be equally qualified. This notion of women for women's sake, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, is batcrap crazy. We don't have to balance testosterone with estrogen, nor light skin pigmentation with heavier. It MUST be based on job performance. Nothing else should matter.(Well, almost nothing; an 85 year old man may be competent until you put them in a certain situation. Age can be taken into account because abilities decline and that is often invisible to us. I wouldn't feel very confident having an old guy show up to rescue me from a burning building...)
Anyway, while the old "women driver" stereotype is not true of everyone, it became a stereotype precisely because there was a KERNAL of truth in it at one time. Why? Probably because women had less experience doing it when they started driving. But men are recognized as better at mechanical things than women and always have been. Men and women are different. The Left refuses to recognize any distinction, except the idea of "male toxicity". All one need do is look at children and how they play. The Left's answer is to make children play just the same, and they think it's purely a learned behavior. But it's not; it's natural.
These sorts of thing will continue as long as we continue to place a wrong-headed and unnatural ideology above human life.

Trump is actually doing pretty well in the polls especially on immigration, according to this analysis by Mark Krikorian at the Center for Immigration Studies.
That poll does include internals, and it has a margin of error of between +/- 3.2 percent overall, and +/- 3.3 percent with respect to responses from registered voters.
Trump received higher marks in that poll, with half of both respondents generally and registered voters in particular — 50 percent — having a favorable impression of the president, compared to the 48 percent of respondents generally and 49 percent of registered voters who have an unfavorable view of him."
There is much more analysis in this article; be sure to read it all.

Doug Ford, the so-called populist running for Premier of Ontario, isn't what he's made out to be, according to our old friend Judi McLeod at Canada Free Press.
Judi states:
What a joke! Ford never "protected” Ontarians during the pandemic. In fact, Ford was the leading Canadian premier to join Trudeau in what the international media at the time called a "draconian” response to a ‘pandemic’, including lockdowns that closed children’s schools and all churches, among other once thriving businesses.
"You might remember that in 2022, the Doug Ford PCs’ treatment of Freedom Convoy participants included:
• Petitioning an Ontario court to freeze over $8 million in voluntary donations raised for the truckers.
• Declaring a provincial "state of emergency” days before Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act. (New Blue Party, Dec. 12, 2024)
"Crown prosecutors (who answer to Doug Ford’s PC Attorney General) relentlessly prosecuting hundreds of protestors for nearly three years now.
"Compare that to the Ford PCs’ response to the pro-Hamas activist occupation of the Confederation Building on Parliament Hill last week:
• No arrests.
• No frozen bank accounts or donations.
• No public condemnation from Doug Ford.
Purported Pugilistic Prowess
"The double standard is eye-opening, and it extends far beyond the Freedom Convoy. (New Blue)
"Whether it’s imposing carbon taxes, keeping gender ideology in schools, or giving billions in handouts to electric vehicle producers, the Ford PCs’ actions have not matched up with their rhetoric.
"By prioritizing the interests of left-wing ideologues and lobbyists over everyday Ontarians, the Ontario PC Party has proven itself to be nothing more than an extension of Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party of Canada.
"At the New Blue, we’ve stood firm against draconian COVID-19 policies and government overreach since day one. Starting in 2020 with Belinda Karahalios’ courageous vote against Ford’s Bill 195, we’ve been Ontario’s true conservative voice.”
fin
Ford appears quite eager to get into a fight with Donald Trump, knowing he'll be able to hide behind the central government of Canada if he does.
In short this guy would be a RINO if he were in the GOP. Like John McCain, he talked a good game until he got in a position where he saw himself reaching the top then started playing politics and betrayed his base. He's John Boehner without the crying.
Yes, an energy embargo would be hard on the U.S. and we do import more from Canada than they do from us. But we offer things they cannot do for themselves and Trump no-doubt knows the pressure points. I've come to realize Trump does not make idle threats.
There were about 800,000 Canadians living in the U.S. as of 2020, and probably more since. I doubt Canada would like us to send them all back.
We also offer a huge amount of military protection to Canada's arctic region. Be a shame if something happened to it.
Our economy is much, much larger than Canada's and we can squeeze them every way from Sunday. Canada's total economy is $2.015 trillion, quite good but paltry next to the U.S. at $24 .8 trillion as of 2021. So our GDP is over ten times that of our northern neighbor. And E\exports were $427.7 billion; imports were $481.2 billion in 2021, so we have run a trade imbalance. BUT during the Trump presidency we ran a trade surplus with Canada - around 20 billion bucks, modest but a surplus. The U.S. exports advanced machinery, refined oil, cars and trucks, etc. to the Great White North. Canada mostly exports oil and gas, electricity, and back bacon to the U.S. Oh, and don't forget teeth broken off from hockey players. The Hosers also export raw farm products to America. That is the very definition of a colonial economy.
Oil and gas are the biggies that Canada exports to us. Guess what? We won't need it as we have all the oil and gas we need and now Trump is going to let us go get it.
So I am sure Mr. Trump can squeeze Canada dry if he so chooses. BTW Michigan and California are the two top importing states. So if Trump squeezes the Canucks it will mainly hurt Blue State America.
Bring it on Ford! Don't write a check you can't cash chum!

There has been a quiet yet massive buildup of Ukrainian air power thanks in large part to the U.S.and France supplying large numbers of aircraft, as well as other NATO members (like the Dutch) and this poses a serious danger of excalation of the war.
William Walter Kay dishes:
[...]
But for NATO, Ukraine wouldn’t own a warplane. NATO supplies all ammo and fuel. All active UAF pilots are NATO-trained; so to, much of UAF brass. More than Ukraine’s army, UAF is a Brussels proxy. As fighting spills skyward, it becomes NATO v Russia.
Europeans, not Americans, are the air-warhawks; none more than Dutch King Willem and his First Minister Rutte. They initiated aircraft transfers, donated their entire F16 and trainer fleet, and were first to greenlight airstrikes inside Russia. Last October, Rutte became NATO Secretary General!
UAF could launch hundreds of strikes a day; but doesn’t. Their boast of 50 sorties a day in 2024, no doubt exaggerated, is doable with two dozen planes. UAF began launching Storm Shadows from Su24s in May 2023. One Su24 could have launched all Storm Shadows to date. Downing a UAF plane makes news; indicating how few are at risk. Reportage on Ukraine’s F16s recount lore-larded tales of drone and missile interception; i.e., work better left to ground-base weapons. F16s, seemingly, undertake defensive missions only. UAF sequesters jets whilst acquiring more.
Idleness might result from fuel and ammo shortages. It might reflect a methodical roll-out on a multi-year timetable, or …they’re prepping a blitz.
Unleashing the new UAF, suddenly or slowly, will surely trigger an avalanche of Russian ordnance… and the war shall soar."
At some point the Ukrainians will have to use all these weapons. They cannot sit on them indefinitely. And when they do Russia will turn to balistic missiles.
And in fact Russia may not limit herself to using such weapons on Ukraine, but may target the suppliers.

Ebola, that most dreadful family of filoviruses, has broken out in Uganda with one death and no doubt more to come.
There are several strains of Ebola, including Sudan,Taï Forest aka Cote D'Ivoire, Bundibugyo, and the dreaded Zaire. There is also a benign form of Ebola - Reston - which popped up in a monkey house in Virginia but didn't make anyone sick with actual Ebola symptoms.
These diseases are closely related to Marburg, another filovirus which is less lethal but just as terrible in symptoms.
Ebola is a hemorrhagic fever disease; you get fever, rash, chills, and bleed out of every orifice. Your eyes turn bright red from blood. You vomit and defecate black flecks in blood. You become disoriented. It has a special liking for the testicles and you will not be able to have sexual relations for along time after recovering (assuming you do; Ebola Zaire's death rate was in the high ninetieth percentile.) Many of the Ebolas cause seizures and spasms, leading to flying spittle and blood, thus transmitting the disease to anyone nearby.
There are other hemorrhagic fevers, notably Crimean Congo, Dengue, and Yellow Fever, which are not caused by filoviruses.
Filoviruses are ancient viruses, RNA based (not DNA) and appear as threads or strings - or worms. Under an electron microscope it appears like a bunch of worms or a snake pit slithering around. And they breed incredibly fast, taking over the cell nuclei and converting cells into ebola factories.
Horrible disease. Fortunately it has never broken out into the general population, largely because it kils too fast to spread . But now we have some treatments (that come from tobacco plants, by the way) and the virus may well mutate into one with a slower incubation, thus allowing it to spread through the general population.
If it were to become airborn it would be catastrophic - an ebola flu season!
So any major outbreak anywhere in the world is a terrible thing and cause for alarm.
BTTW Obama was bringing Ebola patients into the U.S. for treatment during a major outbreak, and we were fortunate indeed not to suffer our own outbreak; one infected woman escaped and wandered around Texas for a while. Not sure why the idiot Obama didn't send these folks to, say, Gitmo where it would be Cuba's problem if it escaped is beyond me (well it isn't; Obama hoped it would break out here to "teach America a lesson".)
It's good Trump pulled us out of the WHO; we'd be up to our eyeballs in it there, and would bring a bunch of infected people here if he hadn't done that.
Anyway, prayers are in order for Uganda. Any Ebola outbreak is a horrible thing.

All about how NGO's are at the heart of the invasion by illegal aliens.
The article states:
They provide "humanitarian transportation" to ferry immigrants up to our border, waypoints with shelter and medical services along the way, Spanish-language maps showing the best route to the U.S., and legal services for immigrants to beat our immigration laws once they get here. Image
Oh, and money. They just give them cash cards, vouchers, and often even just stacks of cash in envelopes.
Tough to think of a more direct 1:1 redistribution: You pay your taxes. Your government sends that money to the NGOs. The NGOs hand it to immigrants. You work, they benefit. "
This invasion is purposeful, intentional, and malicious and they have been making us pay for our own demise. Uttterly despicable.
Like Edward Longshanks says in the movie Braveheart "if we can't drive them out we'll breed them out". They are trying to breed America out of existence.

Now the media is just being ridiculous!
Once again, Trump starts a term with a weak approval rating
Everything Trump has done has been wildly popular and the Democrats are completely cowed - why would they be cowed, why would they not be resisting but rather joining Trump, if he's so unpopular?
FTA:
Trump's initial net approval rating of +7 percentage points is lower than that of any newly elected president since World War II, with one exception: Trump himself during his first term. Trump began his presidency in 2017 with a 44.6 percent approval rating and a 41.4 percent disapproval rating, based on applying our current averaging methodology retroactively. Before that, the record low for initial net approval rating was set by former President George W. Bush in 2001, at +28 points. However, former President Joe Biden started his first term at +22 in 2021."
So, the same 538 that told us Trump would lose the election is now saying he's wildly unpopular. And based on a selection of media polls. Ri-ight.
This article claims the public hates withdrawing from the Paris Accord, hates his plan to deport aliens, and hates his pardoning of the J6 tourists.
Odd.Rasmussen has a 57% approval rating on immigration raids, for instance.
The fact remains that Trump won't get good polling numbers now any way you look at it; results are what will matter. Most of these polls are heavily weighted to Democrats anyway, and this coming in a time of a sour national mood as everything costs a fortune and we have to rebuild from the ruins left by Biden.
This is only the first week of the President in office. These polls are completely meaningless.
And in fact there was this:
CNN Data Guru Stunned byTrump's Approval Shift from Eight Years Ago
From Yahoo News:
"The American people really like what they’re seeing, at least compared to where Donald Trump started eight years ago," Enten told anchor Kate Bolduan on Friday's edition of CNN News Central.
Enten shared a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken this week which found more Americans approve of Trump's presidency now than they did when he entered office in 2017.
Trump started his first term with a net negative approval rating at -3 points, Enten said, but Trump now stands at a +6 net approval rating, up nine points from January 2017.
Cnn Data Guru Marvels At Trump Making Biggest Electoral Gains In Over 30 Years: Trump ‘Breaks History’
"To borrow a Donald Trump phrase, this is big league," he remarked.
Read On The Fox News App
Trump is not just doing better with Americans than he was in January 2017, Enten said; his approval ratings are higher now than they were throughout his first term.
Previously, Trump's highest ever net approval rating was +3 points in March 2017, according to Enton.
"He’s in a better position than he was at any point during his entire first term," the reporter remarked. "Things have very much turned around."
Yet now they are telling us he's dropped and is worse than ever! This is just gaslighting.
I would remind everyone that Ronald Reagan, now beloved, never had more than niggling approval numbers.
FTA:
Reagan has done far better in retrospect, as can happen as ex-presidents recede from the fray of day-to-day politics. Asked to think back to when he served, 66 percent in an ABC News/Washington Post poll in 2001 approved of his work, as did still more, 73 percent, in a 2002 Gallup poll. (Jimmy Carter's retrospective rating did the same thing, rising 20 points in the two decades after he left office.)
Reagan's personal ratings also have improved with time. During his presidency an average of 61 percent of Americans reported an overall favorable impression of him, about the same as the career favorable rating for his successor, the first President Bush (63 percent). By 2001, though, more— 69 percent — viewed Reagan favorably.
Reagan's ratings while in office rose and fell sharply with events. Approval peaked at 73 percent after he was wounded in a March 1981 assassination attempt, but tumbled to 42 percent in the early '80s recessions (unemployment hit a 40-year high in 1982). It recovered to 70 percent in early 1986 as the economy improved, but then dived by 26 points in nine months during the Iran-Contra scandal."
Yet he slaughtered both of his opponents for President and few Democrats dared buck him, much less Republicans. Now why is that?
Because these polling numbers are total nonsense and always have been. The real polls, the internals run by campaigns, show a very different situation than what we hoi poloi are given by the media.
Trump is a titan right now and the Ruling Class knows it. This is an attempt at gaslighting.
They've been gaslighting us for years now, to the point where it has become obvious. They still believe they have the power to make us believe anything they want but we've gotten wise to them.

Catholic Charities has been busted helping illegal aliens get into the country and dodge immigration officials.
According to the article:
"Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee have been caught aiding illegal immigrants in evading President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts by advising them how to avoid cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
A recent video showed immigration attorney Barbara Graham outlining tactics for migrants to thwart lawful investigations by authorities.
"Do not panic, and do not run away. If you are frightened and feel like you need to leave, you can calmly walk toward the exit,” Graham advises in the video.
Graham also advises migrants to ask if they are free to leave and, if told no, to remain silent and refuse to answer questions, such as how they entered the U.S. and where they were born.
The video also advises migrants to refuse to show identification or sign paperwork without requesting a pro bono attorney."
End
It's time to re-evaluate Catholic Charities 501c3 exemptions. They have been at the forefront of bringing in the illegals, up to and including helping to feed these giant caravans.
Any NGO that tries pulling this needs to lose their tax-exempt status and have possibly face prosecution.
Not only is Catholic Charities and the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops tax exempt but they receive billions in funding from taxpayers to resettle refugees.
Maybe we should resettle them. How about exiling the Bishops to, say, Venezuela?

I said we should send the illegals to Gitmo years ago!
Trump to Reopen Guantanamo Bay with 30,000 Beds for ‘Illegal Migrants’
Jimmy Carter did this after being overrun by Cubans during the Mariel boatlift. He banished them to Guantanamo and it slowed the stream of criminals. This is a perfectly sensible move to make.
Trump issued the following statement:
"Today I’m also signing an Executive Order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay — most people don’t even know about it.
We have 30,000 beds in Guantanamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people.
Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust the [home] countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back, so we’re going to send them out to Guantanamo.
This will double our capacity immediately, right? … It’s a tough place to get out of.
Today’s signings bring us one step closer to eradicating the scourge of migrant crime in our communities, once and for all. And it was … just an unforced error that we even have to be doing this.
Now we need Congress to provide full funding for the complete and total restoration of our sovereign borders, as well as financial support to remove record numbers of illegal aliens.”
