Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

City of New York, October 3, 1789.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee78 requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanks-giving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”

The Senate concurred in the House resolve to this effect, September 26.

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th. day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation

Washington, D.C.
October 3, 1863

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the Eighty-eighth.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln

William H. Seward,
Secretary of State

Death Threats Against Cabinet

Timothy Birdnow

You knew this was coming, didn't you.

Trump’s Cabinet Nominees Targeted In Wave Of Violent Threats, Law Enforcement Responds

Folks, they are just warming up. There is going to be real violence soon.

BTW I went to a gathering of my wife's family and while we stayed out of politics Trump came up when we were discussing inflation and a couple of them tried to blame him for it! It didn't turn ugly although I told them they were wrong, and a flash of hot anger washed over my brother in law. I do not understand how smart people can be so naive.

He complained of Trump spending "$7 trillion" but seemed to ignore the fact that Biden spent almost eight, and Obama more than doubled the debt. What he failed to realize was that Trump had no control of the budget for the first year of his Presidency as he was operating under Obama's, then he had no control in his final two years as the Democrats controlled the House of Representatives. Trump had only one year of real authority over it, and he did sign a bad omnibus bill passed by the GOP to avoid a government shutdown by his own party. But Biden had conttrol of the House and the Senate (with Harris as tiebreaker) and moved through enormous spending bills with no opposition. And most Biden's spending was done at the tail end of the pandemic, while Trump had to grind through the very heart of it.

Oh, and Trump had to rebuild the military, which was decimated under Mr. Obama.

The fact of the matter is the last three Presidents spent way too much, and that spending has increased geometrically for decades. But to try to lay that off on Trump is not only unfair it's just plain silly.

At any rate we almost had a big fight. Trump derangement is real and it is dangerous.

Trump May Kick Media Out of Media Room

Timothy Birdnow

Donald Trump is considering kicking the corporate media out of the press-room and bringing in podcasters and bloggers.

How delightful! I doubt the courts will let him do this, but it sure will be fun watching him try!

Why wouldn't he? The media has done nothing but lie about him and twist his words. Why not go to journalists who are actually honest and report the news?

I am reminded of the Gospel of Matthew 22:1-10:

"1 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. 4 "Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.' 5 "But they paid no attention and went off-one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 8 "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

So Mr. Trump, being rejected by the invited guests, is sending out for the beggars and laborers and the lame to come to the banquet. NO doubt the media will howl their displeasure at this nonetheless.

But it's high time we stopped pretending the corporate media (we need a better term) is actuall media; they are nothing but Democrat activists. We need to build a new media, a media bigger and stronger than the corporate media, and we can then enjoy watching the desperate alphabeteerians lose their minds as they lose their power.

Mo Judge upholds Law Against Child Mutilation

Timothy Birdnow

Common sense prevails. BTW I despise the phrase "gender affirming care" as it is wholly dishonest. It affirms nothing. It is not care either. It is rather a rebellion against Nature and Nature's God and it only affirms the mental disorder of young children and their twisted parents.

Missouri Judge Upholds Ban on Gender-Affirming Care for Minors

FTA:

In 2023 the state of Missouri passed a law banning gender-affirming care for minors. The law restricted the use of puberty blockers and gender-affirming surgeries.

Transgender minors and some adults in Missouri will soon be banned from accessing puberty blockers, hormones and gender-affirming surgeries under a bill signed Wednesday by the state’s Republican governor.

Beginning Aug. 28, Missouri health care providers won’t be able to prescribe those gender-affirming treatments for teens and children. Most adults will still have access to transgender health care under the law, but Medicaid won’t cover it.

Gender-affirming surgeries for inmates and prisoners will be outlawed.

Within weeks the ACLU of Missouri filed a lawsuit on behalf of the families of trans teens seeking to block implementation of the new law.

Plaintiffs in the lawsuit include the families of three transgender minors and Southampton Community Healthcare, which provides gender-affirming care. Other named plaintiffs are two of Southampton’s providers and two national LGBTQ+ organizations.

That lawsuit finally resulted in a trial which was held at the end of September. There was no jury present. The decision was left in the hands of Circuit Court Judge Craig Carter. Today Judge Carter released his decision. He upheld the state ban and ruled against the plaintiffs on all three of their arguments.

Missouri’s restrictions on puberty blockers and hormone treatment for transgender minors are constitutional and may remain in place, Wright County Circuit Court Judge Craig Carter wrote in a 74-page ruling Monday...

His ruling focuses on a U.S. Supreme Court precedent that allows lawmakers broad discretion in areas "fraught with medical and scientific uncertainty.” Carter concluded that there is "an almost total lack of consensus as to the medical ethics of adolescent gender dysphoria treatment,” granting the state legislature authority to ban the care.

"Regarding the ethics of adolescent gender-affirming treatment, it would seem that the medical profession stands in the middle of an ethical minefield, with scant evidence to lead it out.” he wrote.

During the nine-day trial, which took place at the end of September, experts on both sides opined on the availability of scientific research on gender-affirming care. Carter notes that plaintiffs agreed that standards of care were based on scientifically low-quality evidence. Expert witnesses for plaintiffs said during trial they still felt there was enough to justify the area of treatment.

It's All About the Benjamins in Ukraine

Timotthy Birdnow

Lindsay Graham talks out-of-turn and gives one of the reasons for the eagerness to go to war on behalf of the Ukraine.

"Ukraine is still standing. This war is about money. People don’t talk much about it,” Graham said.

"But you know, the richest country in all of Europe for rare earth minerals is Ukraine.”

"Two to $7 trillion worth of minerals that are rare earth minerals, very relevant to the 21st century,” Graham explained. "Ukraine is ready to do a deal with us, not the Russians.

Oh, and the Ukraine has oil reserves itself - undeveloped oil and gas reserves. Also, it's essentially the Israel of Eastern Europe, the crossroads where all oil and gas must pass to reach the developed countries of Western Europe.

Couple that with a desire to drain Russia and force her into the New World Order and you have a recipe for disaster. The greedy elites want to plunder and pillage Ukraine and Russia for their own profit and power.

The Cost of Getting Trump

Timotthy Birdnow

The Trump witch hunt cost taxpayers almost $50 Million dollars.

From the Daily Fetched:

"According to a Department of Justice expenditure report, the Special Counsel Office, led by Jack Smith, incurred costs of $9.25 million between November 2022 and March 2023.

An additional report shows a further $14.66 million spent over the next six months.

Another $11.84 million in expenses occurred from October 2023 to March 2024.

While the expenditures from April 2024 to September 2024 have not yet been reported, based on the previously reported periods, it is now estimated to be $12 million.

This means that since Smith was appointed in late 2022, the office has spent an estimated total of approximately $47.5 million.

Any wonder America is going bankrupt?

Another Inconvenient Truth

Timotthy Birdnow

Another story from the Captain Obvious collection.

Study; DEI Training Created Perceptions of Prejudice where None was Present

Uh, that's the whole point of DeI.

You have primed people to think that everything is racist using inflammatory language so what did they think would happen? It was purposeful and intentional.

I remember an altercation I had during the Ferguson riots. I was going to my cardiologist at the hospital and a black man tried to ace me out of a parking spot I was manuevering to get into. He didn't get it; by all rights it was mine (I was there first and was just manuevering the car into position when he tried to steal it) but he was primed by listening to angry talk on the radio. He got out of his car and began screaming at me, and kept repeating "those days are over!" meaning I assume the days of my alleged white privilege. I asked "what days? The days of courteous driving?" much to his wrath. See, he was all worked up and wanted to hurt a white person. I turned and walked away - and seriously feared he was going to attack me from behind.

He was well dressed and had a much nicer vehicle than did I too. In fact he insulted my car (and then I think he realized the stupidity of that; I could see it in his eyes when he realized he was attacking my "white privilege" even though he obviously had more money than me.

My blood pressure was so high by the time I saw the cardiologist they wanted to put me in the hospital.

The point is this guy was all jacked up about the Mike Brown shooting and he wanted to harrass a white person because he was listening to demogogues - the same sort who now have the public's ear via DEI.

At any rate I feared my tires would be slashed when I came out of the doctors but fortunately this fellow was smart enough not to do that (the lot has cameras).

This is the strategy of leftists like Saul Alinski who stated:

"The despair is there; now it's up to us to go in and rub raw the sores of discontent, galvanize them for radical social change.”

That is all DEI is; rubbing raw the tender spots to elicit this type of reaction. It serves no other purpose.

It's good there is scientific research to back this up, but we hardly needed to waste the money to determine this. Still, the Left always calls us science deniers; I wonder how they are going to deny this little bit of science? No doubt by just ignoring it, as they usually do when faced with an inconvenient truth.

Europe to Go to War with Russia Alone?

Timothy Birdnow

Britain and France may send troops to Ukraine even if the U.S. disengages - or so they say.

From the surrender monkeys of Lemonde:

"Discussions over sending European troops to Ukraine reignited
With the prospect of American disengagement from Kyiv following Donald Trump’s return to the White House, Paris and London are not ruling out leading a military coalition in Ukraine.”

End

I'll believe that when I see it. I also doubt they'd have the cajones to buck Trump and start WWIII without us.

No, I suspect they are just talking tough now to make themselves look good. Like the little toady who allies with the school bully and acts tough, in the end he'll back down every time. I suspect our European friends, when faced with the prospect of tangling with Russia alone, will scurry back to their own borders and open another bottle of chardonnay while they bemoan the "collapse" of America since Trump came to power.

But if they would take unilateral action? We should and probably will just stay out of it. We should have done that all the way back in 1914 when the Great War first broke out and we sided with the Brits over Germany. Everything that has happened since was a result of our tampering with things that were none of our business. WWII would never have happened, nor Korea, nor vietnam, nor any of it.

If the Euroweenies want to play the tough guys they can do it on their own dimes.

250 Billion a Year isn'tt Enough!

Timothy Birdnow

It's all about the money.

COP 29: Climate cash freak out

FTA:

$250 billion is an "insult” say climate campaigners at the big UN climate conference in Azerbaijan.

They are demanding over $1 trillion of your dollars per year be transferred to developing nations and their attendant climate profiteers starting now.

The COP 29 presidency released a draft calling for a "collective quantified goal on climate finance” of $250 billion per year, ramping up to $1.3 trillion per year by 2035.

Read the COP 29 presidency’s draft climate finance proposal at CFACT.org.

The Guardian quotes Panama’s climate envoy as saying, "This is definitely not enough. What we need is at least $5tn a year, but what we have asked for is just $1.3tn. That is 1% of global GDP. That should not be too much when you’re talking about saving the planet we all live on.” $250 billion "comes to nothing when you split it.”

The COP 29 outcome is now teetering as climate pressure groups and poorer nations insist on higher redistribution of cash.

That monstrous portions of all this spending will end up in the pockets of climate kleptocrats, with little or no impact on the temperature of the Earth, doesn’t enter into it.

As three decade veterans of the UN climate process, CFACT has seen this drama play out many times before.

The conference goes into a last minute panic, then goes into extra innings. Then some time over the weekend delegates emerge bleary eyed from a late night session and announce a glorious compromise that lines the wrong pockets while accomplishing nothing meaningful for the planet.

CFACT’s Marc Morano told Sky News that, "this

whole conference was about money, money, money” for a UN climate "slush fund.”

Check out my article at Newsmax calling on once and future President Trump to "Net Zero” the USA out of these UN climate meetings. I share a pile of climate absurdities and solutions that solve nothing such as eating insects to change the weather.

As UN climate delegates fight over the billions and trillions of dollars they crave, they do so under the cloud of an incoming Trump Administration that is threatening to pull the world’s number one economy out.

Let’s see how eager Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia are to continue throwing good money after bad if the U.S. calls "game over” and departs the field.

Thank you to CFACT’s friends and donors. You are the best! We cannot do it without you. Help CFACT meet our finance goal. Please make the most generous gift you can right now. Join the fight.

Dirty DOJ Dealings

Timothy Birdnow

Merrick Garland's Justice Department (sic) dismissed a lawsuit over a taxpayer-funded solar booondoggle on ELECTION NIGHT to hide the fact they were covering it up.

According to Breitbart:

This story has tentacles back through, not just the Biden administration, but all the way back to the Obama administration, and it could be something that jeopardizes the broader green energy agenda and the future of leftist solar projects on federal lands. At least one congresswoman is already formally pressing the DOJ for answers, and more members of Congress are likely to get involved soon. It could even have major implications for the incoming administration’s energy policy.

On Nov. 5, at 5:20 p.m. ET, less than an hour before the first polls closed and when it had become clear from the exit polls that Democrat presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris was likely to lose, an attorney with the Justice Department emailed lawyers for plaintiffs in a qui tam lawsuit aimed at recouping significant losses the taxpayers allegedly incurred from a failed solar plant in Nevada. A qui tam lawsuit is when a private plaintiff sues on behalf of the U.S. Government to recoup taxpayer dollars — often alleging fraud, misuse, or theft of taxpayer dollars.

The email from the DOJ stated what plaintiffs started hearing through the grapevine as the election neared and it became clear the Harris campaign was in trouble. The email said that the DOJ intended to dismiss a lawsuit that it had previously allowed to proceed, thereby undercutting the private push to recoup significant losses for American taxpayers.

"The United States intends to intervene in this case for the purpose of dismissing the qui tam claims under 31 U.S.C. 3730(c)(2)(A),” Anthony Gill, a trial lawyer for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division Fraud Section, emailed attorneys for CMB Export, LLC, an EB-5 visa firm that had filed the qui tam lawsuit in question. "The United States has determined that dismissal is commensurate with the public interest and that the matter does not warrant the continued expenditure of government resources. The anticipated discovery and litigation obligations associated with the continued litigation of this case will impose an undue burden on the U.S. Department of the Treasury, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Justice.

Garland and others at DOJ need to face prosecution for their corruption and crimes.
