Brave New World: Psychologists seek to Mainstream Promiscuity

Anyone remember the Aldous Huxley novel Brave New World? Polyamorous behavior was promoted as the norm, as a way to control and occupy the masses. Does anyone think the goal of this psychological task force is any different?

Facebook: it's o.k. to threaten Conservatives

Timothy Birdnow

Facebook got caught in another assault on Conservatives and free speech, this time posting changes to its Community Standards rules relaxing threatening or hateful speech towards some individuals. They deleted the changes after getting caught.

From Lifesite News:

Breitbart reported that Facebook updated its Community Standards section on Violence and Incitement with language banning "threats that could lead to death (and other forms of high-severity violence)” against individuals or groups, "unless the target is an organization or individual covered in the Dangerous Individuals and Organization Policy.”

The Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy applies to "terrorist activity,” "organized hate,” "mass or serial murder,” "human trafficking,” and "organized violence or criminal activity.” While most of those categories are straightforward, critics have expressed concern that Facebook interpretes "organized hate” – which it defines as "any association” whose words, actions, or views "attack individuals based on characteristics, including race, religious affiliation, nationality, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation, serious disease or disability” – to encompass non-hateful conservative views

Who decides who and what is hateful? The Southern Poverty Law Center, perhaps? This is a recipe for suppression of normal views.

If facebook is a social platform it must not censor. If it is a media outlet (something they insist they are not since it would mean greater regulation) then they have to stop trying to shut up a segment of the population. It really is that simple.

The article continues:

Last month, it was revealed that Facebook’s criteria for identifying potential "hate agents” doesn’t merely include discernible hate speech or association with established hate groups, but can include simply interviewing individuals the tech giant deems hateful.

When a bunch of Millenials are the ones making this determination, we should not be surprised that someone who says "you shouldn't have to bake a cake for a gay wedding if you are a Christian" would be labeled a hatemonger.

Facebook and the other tech giants are far too powerful. They hold an empire that the worst of the robber barons could only dream about. It's time we do some trust busting.

Lords of Illusion; German Circus using Virtual Animals

Timothy Birdnow

More proof that the human race is losing it's grip on reality.

https://www.boredpanda.com/animal-holograms-circus-roncalli-germany/?fbclid=IwAR279cLeRwXItJhkzrkUWNYK7RE2nWLjND7uEdAHSWwn4tvsybE05SqHQwo

Yes, they actually want to make a virtual circus. Can somebody tell me the point?

I suppose they think people won't be able to tell the difference between real and virtual.

From the article:

Circus Roncalli has been entertaining crowds with its animal shows since 1976 but has decided to change things up in an attempt to fight against animal cruelty in the industry.

Its shows still feature tusks and tails, fiery circles and acrobats, but in a world’s first, not one of the animals are real. Roncalli wanted to create 3D holographic images from projectors while filling the arena measuring 32 meters (105 feet) wide and 5 meters (16 feet) deep with 360° visibility for the entire audience.

Why bother? If people wanted to see pictures they could look them up online. Why not use, say, complex robots; at least a real thing would be present. Better yet, do without entirely.

Western civilization is increasingly living inside a hall of mirrors, a funhouse where nothing is real and the average person cannot tell the difference between an image and reality. This illustrates that point perfectly, in my opinion. Only someone divorced from an objective reality would think this a good idea.

AT&T to Block "Fraud" Calls - Another Brick in the Wall of Tyranny?

Timothy Birdnow

Telecommunications giant AT&T has announced it plans to block fraud calls

AT&T put out this statement:

Good news, AT&T customers: The carrier on Tuesday announced plans to start automatically blocking fraud calls for free.

The move comes after the FCC last month voted to let carriers block robocalls by default. AT&T is now the first of the big four U.S. carriers to commit to do that.

"The Commission's recent action builds on a years-long effort to enable broader adoption of call-blocking tools and allow providers to better protect their customers and networks," AT&T Communications Executive Vice President of Regulatory and State External Affairs Joan Marsh said in a statement. "AT&T remains committed to working with our government and industry partners in the ongoing battle against unwanted and illegal robocalls."

While this may sound like a good thing, I caution everyone to be dubious. How long before they begin blocking "fraud" calls from, say, conservative candidates running for Congress? From the NRA or other advocacy groups with which they disagree? How long will it be before they have a "no call list" for political dissidents?

Every time you restrict information, even for noble purposes, you open the door to abuse. Tyrannies are not so much born as slowly baked, often one brick at a time.. This is the exact sort of thing that acts as a brick in the wall of despotism.

Beware!

Actress who Played Violet Beauregard in Willy Wonka Passed Away

Timothy Birdnow

Warner Todd Houston gives us some sad news:

Willy Wonka' Star Denise Nickerson, 62, Dies After Being Taken Off Life Support--Played Violet Beauregarde who turned into a giant blueberry

]Willy Wonka Star Denise Nickerson, 62, Dies After Being Taken Off Life Support

From the article:

The child star had suffered a "major medical emergency” on Monday, and was taken to the emergency room and eventually the ICU, Jasmine wrote.

"She’s had seizures this morning and is in pulmonary and respiratory distress. The doctors have found that she aspirated and has developed pneumonia,” she said. "They have upped her oxygen. She’s under a DNR order so they aren’t putting her on a ventilator or feeding tube.”

Her condition continued to worsen, and by Tuesday, she was unable to exhale on her own due to "weak” lung and brain activity, according to the post.

This is sad; Willy Wonka was a part of my childhood, and it's like losing a small part of my youth. Let's all pray for her soul and her family.

Sexist Air Conditioning:Woman, Cover Thyself!

Timothy Birdnow

Everything in this modern world is either racist or sexist. Now we are being told air conditioning is sexist. According to an article in The New York Times, by one aptly named Penelope Green, air conditioning is sexist because women like it warmer than men and, since most offices set the thermostat a bit lower, it is purely sexism. It couldn't be that employers want to keep the labor force from becoming drowsy, oh no; it has nothing to do with productivity, with keeping people active. (Frankly, if these women are getting cold they should try, uh, working harder.) Of course, these feminist scolds never consider that most of the outdoor jobs are done by men, primarily because women don't want to take those positions (they beg women to go into the trades) and it is HOT outside, at least in summer.

Long ago I worked briefly as a bread delivery guy, and I spoke with a driver for Bunny Bread. She complained of her time working for Wonder " I was so cold all winter" because her truck wasn't adequately heated. Was that sexism, or a desire to avoid complicated heating a cooling systems, a type of cheapness? My Colonial/Sarah Lee truck had little heat, too, and no air conditioning, and it was miserable when the temperature was extreme either way. But you had to suck it up; it was part of the job. I didn't work there long, just a couple of months. The hours were hell, too; 14 a day or more.

Enough about me.

These people are going mad.

Pope Francis fired a shot against air conditioning too, a while back. He complained that people were cooling themselves at the expense of "the planet" and instead of feeding the poor. Of course the dop has never lived anywhere REALLY hot or he would know better. People die with regularity during heat waves if they don't have air conditioning. Every summer here in St. Louis we have at least one death from heat. There are ministries devoted to getting air conditioners for the poor and helping them pay the electric bill so they can run them. But Francis doesn't worry about such things; he's a social justice warrior and air conditioning represents our modern technological civilization. He is such a big poop Pope.

A similar argument can be made - and no doubt will be - that air conditioning is racist. After all, black people are descended from people from the tropical zones. They can take heat better. So air conditioning is racist. It's only logical!

I Own the World has this to say about the matter:

However, Green pointed out that building managers control the temperatures, often relying on industry standards set by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers. These standards suggest 67 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

I give Green credit because she shows both sides of the story, including one business in Philadelphia that tried to go a summer without air conditioning, which failed because employees complained about the sweltering summer heat.

And this article whines about how cold women are in offices.

WELl, first off, it is easily remedied with more clothing. If women would stop coming to work dressed like hookers they wouldn't be so chilly. There is no good way cool down if it is too hot inside, however. And why is it always about what women want? They are forever demanding things and then demanding more. They complain because men sit with their legs spread (try NOT sitting that way, ladies, with a bunch of genitalia hanging down there!). They complain about being paid less than the men, despite working fewer hours, fewer years on the job, and taking time off for their children. Oh, and not being willing to move for their jobs. They complain there is no day care at their places of business. They complain and complain.

Now don't get me wrong; I am all for a reasonable accommodation, but at what point does the world get to stop changing to benefit this particular group? Boys are taught at a young age to "suck it up" and not whine. The feminists never seemed to have learned that lesson. Oh, they want to compete with men, and brag about how they are as tough as any man, but in the end they expect special privileges. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, or if you can't stand the cold... Suck it up, dearies! Only in that way can yo prove your assertions.

You've come a long way, baby! Now you know what men have had to endure for a long, long time. How many men enjoy going into the bowels of the Earth where it is boiling hot, or working in a foundry? We've always had to suck it up. I think a sweater is hardly asking too much of you gals. Maybe try putting some clothes on; a pair of pants rather than a short skirt, for instance. The rise in sexually provocative fashion in America, the immodesty of modern women, is directly related to this. A modest woman wouldn't have this sort of problem.

Woman, cover thyself!

Woman Soccer Team can't beat Freshman high School Boys, want Pay Raise

Timothy Birdnow

Recently some players on the U.S. Woman's World Cup soccer team have complained bitterly about getting paid less then the men. How sexist! In fact, 28 of them filed a discrimination lawsuit against U.S. Soccer to show their displeasure.

Well, as Ben Shapiro pointed out, athletic skill is a critical component of professional sports, and men are much better all around at it.

How much better, you ask?

This much.

Yes, you read that right; a high school boys team beat the women's national team 5 to 2! High school, that is.These kids were FRESHMEN!

If you can't beat some pimply undergrown kids, why are you worth as much as the men?

And sports are about money; how much do you generate. As Shapiro pointed out the 2010 World Cup for men brought in about $4 billion, he said, whereas the women’s World Cup one year later brought in $73 million in revenue.

"The reason for that is because people aren’t as interested in women playing soccer as men playing soccer — not because they are sexist, but because women are not as good at soccer as men,”

According to Vox the women earn $3,600 per game, while the men earn $5,000 per game, And the men received a $55 thousand bonus for making it to round sixteen of the cup, while the women got just $15,000 for winning it all. But that is because they don't bring home the bacon.

Look, there aren't a bunch of businessmen sitting around thinking up ways to disrespect women. They operate rationally, and the almighty dollar is their end goal. If it were worth it to them they would pay more to the women. As it is they don't because people don't want to watch them. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves. It's not really a fault, either; we reward excellence. Yes, these gals are good, but they aren't in the same league as the men.

Maybe they should play the men to prove their worth? Naahhhh...

Perot's Son Donated to Trump

TTimothy Birdnow

Ross Perot's son donated to Trump's campaign while his father was still alive.

From Fox News:

But his family boosted Trump in other ways – earlier this year, his son Ross Perot Jr. donated to Trump’s re-election campaign.

A Boston Globe report initially attributed those donations to Perot Sr. but a family spokesman confirmed they came from his son.

This shouldn't really be surprising; Trump was a supporter of the Reform Party, the party Perot started. In fact, he ran in the party's primary in 2000, winning 15,000 votes in the California primary.

Trump had earlier considered running for Governor of New York.

Trump and Perot had much in common. Millionaires with blunt personalities and eccentricities, I am not at all surprised the Perot family would admire Trump.

Global Warming Brainwashing

Timothy Birdnow

An article in Guardian Australia waxes poetic about brainwashing chiildren to believe in Global Warming. I left the following comment:

Why do they have to frighten children? Because rational adults know a bedtime story when they hear it. If this were about science they wouldn't be trying to brainwash kids.

Another reader took umbrage with this and chastised me for it:

So education is brainwashing. Why do you not respect the findings of University qualified Climate Scientists? Do you ignore yourself University qualified GP and listen to your butcher over medical issues?

Naturally I had to reply:

I ignore scientists when they have proven themselves to be untruthful or unreliable - as Michael Mann has done, or James Hansen or NOAA altering temperature data to make it appear the Earth is warming. The fact is, the Climategate e-mails make it quite plain that there has been a concerted effort by some scientists (who depend on public funding and so need this "emergency" to keep the gravy coming) to bully journal editors, negatively peer review "denier" papers while giving thumbs up for their friends, filing frivilous lawsuits against people who disagree with them, fudge data, etc. Ever heard of "Mike's Nature Trick?" That was Michael Mann's sneaky trick of splicing real and proxy data onto the same graph "to hide the decline". Those were the very words used in the Climategate e-mails. Doubt? You betcha.

But what do you mean by scientists? There are thirty thousand scientists who have signed a petition against the hysterical global warming claims. http://www.petitionproject.org/ That follows on the hels of the Heidelberg Initiative, the Oregon petition, etc.

Here is a list of scientists who disagree with the so-called concensus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scientists_opposing_the_mainstream_scientific_assessment_of_global_warming These are top people; William Happer, Freeman dyson, Judith Curry, Joanna Simpson, Piers Corbin, Richard Lindzen, Roger Pielke Sr., Roger Pielke Jur., The late Frederick Seitz, Roy Spencer, John Christy, Lubos Motls, Willie Soon, Sally Baliuski, Astronaut and geologist Harrison Schmidt, Timothy Ball, Don Easterbrook, David Legates, S. Singer, Jennifer Marohasy, etc. I could go on but you get the point. Google any of these people and you will see very accomplished scientists in the thick of this research. Also, Google the NIPCC. Oh, hell, I'll do it for you. https://motls.blogspot.com/2019/05/the-nipcc-reports-are-actually-amazing.html

There is considerable research that suggests most of the warming of the twentieth century is an artifact of "data smoothing" by NOAAA, or NASA's Goddard Institutie, or the Hadley Center. Oh, and satellite data shows virtually no planetary warming; only dubiious surface stations. They are bad data, too; see www.surfacestations.org.

I ffear you are only getting half the story - the half the Alarmists want you to have.

So, has theplanet warmed? Sure. Why? Some of it is nature (solar variability and Milankovich cycles) some of it caused by human activity (Roger Pielke Sr. argues that land use change - cutting trees down, blacktopping what was once forest) raises the temperature in spots. But a thermogeddon caused by carbon dioxide? Nah.

Do you know that there are only four molecdules of carbon dioxide in every TEN THOUSAND molecules of air? It's a trace gas. And we've put less than one moolecule of those four into the atmosphere.

If carbon dioxide is so powerful a greenhouse gas why is M

Something Stinks in CA

Timothy Birdnow

California is going to regulate cow farts.

Yes, they actually want to control flatulence among our bovine brethren.

It should be comforting that while the state is facing an impending pension crisis and illegal immigration is running rampant, the Democrats in California can focus on the more pressing matters of cow farts.

Senate Bill No. 1383, declares that "short-lived climate pollutants, such as black carbon, fluorinated gases, and methane, are powerful climate forcers that have a dramatic and detrimental effect on air quality, public health, and climate change.”

One of the major sources of methane gas is cattle and other livestock in farms.

The effort is aimed at combating the politically-motivated claims that mankind is causing the globe to warm by releasing carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The idea is that these gasses are creating an insulated layer in the Earth’s ozone, and is trapping the sun’s radiation, causing the planet to warm.

[...]

California regulators are working to formulate a plan that would require dairy farmers to purchase and operate devices known as "methane digesters,” which convert the methane gas, produced from manure, into electricity.

California dairy farms will have to be retrofitted with these devices in order to be in compliance with SB 1383.

The problem, however, is that the devices can have price-tags that reach well into the millions, and struggling dairy farmers may have a difficult time purchasing them.

Though the state has set aside $50 million to subsidize the cost of the methane digesters, with more than 1,500 dairy farmers, it is clearly not enough.

I wish California WOULD declare independence; we need them like a hole in the head. Yes, they produce a lot of stuff, but the rest of the country could ramp up production. Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, are all big dairy states, and I know Missouri could produce a lot more.

Why would the idiots in California think these farmers will keep paying for the privilege of getting the shaft from the Golden State? And why do they not realize that others can take up the slack aand make the money the Californian dairy producers are losing?

Something sure stinks in California...

Epstein/Mueller and Trump

Timothy Birdnow

Well, well, well:

Was Donald Trump Demanding Justice For The Jeffrey Epstein Victims As Far Back As 2012?

From D.C. Whispers:

What the media is (once again) neglecting to share with the public this week are Epstein’s very deep ties to very high-ranking Democrats as well as President Trump’s long public history of rebuking Epstein once Epstein was convicted of improper conduct with minors. Below is an example that now, in hindsight, appears to be him doing just that:

Got to do something about these missing chidlren grabbed by the perverts. Too many incidents–fast trial, death penalty.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 8, 2012

It should be noted that Epstein’s controversial deal with the DOJ was initiated by the former Bush-era DOJ and then later upheld by the then-Obama administration. And you want to know who the FBI Director was at the time who participated in that Epstein-friendly agreement?

None other than Robert Mueller. (Again, the far-left media has said NOTHING about this.) Epstein’s many political ties, though largely Democrat Party-friendly, are politically interconnected and international in nature and many now feel he was the recipient of some very powerful Deep-State protection—the very same Deep State that has been working so hard to try and destroy President Trump.

[...]

Edwards: The only thing that I can say about President Trump is that he is the only person who, in 2009 when I served a lot of subpoenas on a lot of people, or at least gave notice to some pretty connected people, that I want to talk to them, is the only person who picked up the phone and said, let’s just talk. I’ll give you as much time as you want. I’ll tell you what you need to know, and was very helpful, in the information that he gave, and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever, but had good information. That checked out and that helped us and we didn’t have to take a deposition of him in 2009.

So, the same machine that protected Hillary and went after Trump didn't seem too interested in going after Epstein. But Trump appeares to have been one of the few willing to talk to prosecutors - or rebuke short eyes Jeffoy.

Welcome to the Goldfish Bowl

Timothy Birdnow

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak puts out a call to leave Facebook.

From the Daily Mail article:

The Apple co-founder, who deleted his own Facebook profile last year, told TMZ recently that he recommends most people ‘figure out a way to get off’ the site due to ongoing privacy concerns. File photo

TMZ ran into Wozniak at Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. last week and asked him if we should be worried that our devices are listening to us.

And according to Wozniak, the answer is yes.

‘I’m worried about everything,’ Wozniak said. ‘I don’t think you can stop it, though.

‘Who knows if my cell phone is listening right now? Alexa has already been in the news a lot.’

The Great and Powerful Woz is right; Americans are being spied on every day, either by our government or our commercial partners. Facebook is one of the worst. I have little doubt Google is right up there, too.

All of this stuff seemed so wonderful when it first appeared.

Isaac Asimov wrote a short story called The Dead Past back in 1956 which comes to mind when thinking about the collapse of privacy. In the story a historian becomes suspicious when a time viewer does not answer any good questions, and he is rebuffed by the authorities when he starts poking around. He convinces a junior physicist to help him, and the physicist uses modern technology to recreate the time viewer, only making it far superior. In the end they find out WHY the time viewer doesn't answer good questions.

Spoiler alert; it's because it only goes back one hundred and twenty years or so.

In the end they find out why the government was lying to the public; the viewer was pretty useless as a time machine, but it was excellent at spying oun neighbors, employees, etc. The protagonists in the story stupidly release details of how to buiild a home time viewer and thus destroy all human privacy.

The internet and cell technology is a lot like that. And it's just going tokeep getting worse.

The bureacrat who tried to stop the men in The dead Past Leaves them with this remark:

"Happy goldfish bowl to you, to me, to everyone, and may each of you fry in hell forever. Arrest rescinded."

Welcome to the Goldfish Bowl.

Judge Overrules Mo. Abortion Law, Forces Referendum

Timothy Birdnow

Whenever the Left loses they run to the courts to overturnthe law. Missouri's legislature passed, and her governor signed, a bill baning abortions after eight weeks, and so what happened? The baby killers ran to a court, which dutifully gave them a bit of a reprieve.

They had been trying to get it onto a referendum in the hopes of tricking voters into overturning the law.Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft wouldn't acomodate, so some activist judge did. From NPR:

The court overturned Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s rejection of the ballot initiative.

While the ruling revives an effort from the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri to scrap the abortion ban, supporters won’t have a lot of time to gather roughly 100,000 signatures. And there could be more legal fights to come about whether a provision that goes into effect right away will derail the referendum in the future.

Ashcroft rejected the referendum from the ACLU, as well as two other similar ones, because part of the abortion law went into effect right away under what’s known as an emergency clause. But the Western District Court of Appeals ruled that Ashcroft didn’t have the authority to make that decision.

See, they are not content with a ballot initiative to overturn the law; they want it killed in utero, much like they want babies ripped apart or burned with salt. The Left never follows the rules - they use them.

Let us continue:

Tony Rothert of the ACLU said his group was pleased with the judges’ decision but concerned about having enough time to gather signatures.

"It certainly establishes the limitations on the secretary of state’s ability to derail a referendum,” Rothert said. "Going forward how it will affect our ability to gather signatures we have not yet evaluated.”

What Rothert was referring to was a footnote in the decision denying the ACLU’s request to have the referendum’s ballot title certified by July 18. Opponents of the abortion ban can’t start gathering signatures without a ballot title. And getting the necessary signatures in six of Missouri’s eight congressional districts usually takes a few months — as was the case when foes of "right to work” had roughly six months to pursue their referendum.

If Ashcroft still rejects the initiative, or if they cannot get enough signiatures in time, then they will sue based on Constitutionality.

Missouri allows a referendum on any law that is not a state of emergency. To avoid this very trick (which LDemocrats used successfully to overtura Right to Work law) they inserted language to proclaim it an emergency. The law was not supposed to be challengable. But as the Left alwasys does, they found a sympathetic ear on the courts. They are hoping to get it on the ballot at a time of their choosing and get out the shock troops - and probably steal enough votes to overturn the law.

The public in general is not displeased with this law, nor with the Right to Work law. If they were the Republicans would have answered at the ballot box. But the Left doesn't care about the will of the poeple, just about advancing their own issues and power.

Liberals are eating their friends as well as their enemies

Dana Mathewson

I've been absent for awhile, as a Windows 10 update to my old Dell computer managed to hose it; I'm using one of our laptops which is in an inconvenient area of the house... but hey, I don't live to complain, usually.

At any rate, here's a wonderful Michael Goodwin article. The best part of it comes early, and as you know, I don't like to give that part away; I like to just entice you into going to the main article.

So I'll just give you the lead-in.

With Democrats increasingly attacking each other with a vitriol they once reserved for President Trump, an anecdote involving President Lyndon Johnson fits the moment. As recounted in the riveting memoir of Joseph Califano, Johnson’s top domestic adviser, the president was meeting with civil rights leaders in the hot racial summer of 1967.

Dems were sharply divided over several issues, including how to respond to riots in Detroit and Newark, and LBJ hoped to corral NAACP leader Roy Wilkins and Urban League executive director Whitney Young into his corner.

At a White House meeting, Johnson recited his Great Society accomplishments, but Wilkins and Young appeared numb and in despair, saying they couldn’t control the young rioters, Califano writes in "The Tragedy and Triumph of Lyndon Johnson.”

Shakeup at DOJ over Census Question

DOJ announces legal team shift over citizenship question on 2020 census

From the article:

James Burnham, the current deputy attorney general in the DOJ’s civil division and former White House lawyer, will no longer be heading the department’s efforts in the census case.

A word from Tim:

James Burnham is on Trumpp Judicial short list and would possibly have to leave the case. He was a White House Counsel before coming to the DOJ.

Baby's Big Brother

Timothy Birdnow

Donald Trump ran in part on relieving American businesses of regulatory burdens. So why is the Consumer Product Safety Commission micromanaging high chair regulations?

From the CPSC website:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) approved a new federal mandatory safety standard to make high chairs safer for both home and restaurant use. The new mandatory standard, which aims to prevent deaths and injuries to infants and toddlers, applies to any infant high chair manufactured or imported on or after June 19, 2019.

What are the new rules?
High chairs must meet requirements for stability and restraint systems, as well as include warning statements printed on high chairs about how to avoid fall hazards.

Apparently kids were getting injured when they climbed into or out of high chairs. So what is the government going to do about it? Imposing new regulations only gives the impression that "somebody cares" in D.C. but will not improve the safety of the product anyway. Kids do stupid things, and stupidity is always rewarded with pain. It's part of growing up.

But in the meantime this drives the cost of high chairs up, and discourages American companies from making them.

I thought that was what Donald Trump was supposed to have been elected to do - reduce the number of regulations. This is a Trump appointee running this agendcy, isn't it?

And THIS should concenn every liberty-loving American:

In a recent 2-year period, there were an estimated 18,500 high chair-related injuries treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments, according to CPSC’s National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS)

So our government is keeping a close eye on child injuries via an "electronic Injury Surveillance System. We used to call that spying. What business is it of Uncle Sam's anyway?

Americans are being swallowed up by these draconian regulations and our nanny state do-gooderism, which spies on Americans, and tell them how to live. An altruistic despotism is still despotism.

Either we are a free People, with the right to make our own decisions, or we are slaves. We are NOT their children; they have no right to impose this sort of thing. It frightens me to realize how much Americans are willing to surrender for a little security.

Sex Slaver Jeffrey Epstein Indicted for Child Trafficking

Timothy Birdnow

Jeffrey Epstein, the pedophile pimp who notoriously chartered the "Lolita Express" to take perverted men to "slave island" has been indicted.

According to Yahoo News:

Billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was arrested for allegedly sex trafficking dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005, and will appear in court in New York on Monday, according to three law enforcement sources. Saturday's arrest by the FBI-NYPD Crimes Against Children Task Force comes about 12 years after the 66-year-old financier essentially got a slap on the wrist for allegedly molesting dozens of underage girls in Florida.

Former President and Chief Groper Bill Clinton flew on the Lolita Express slaver flights over twenty six times .A man with Clinton's libido and risky sexual practices would have no problem, uh, partaking of the amenities, shall we say.

Alan Dershowitz and Prince Andrew also flew the friendly skies. So did Kevin Spacey. Donald Trump once had dinner with Epstein at his home in West Palm Beach, and Epstein did visit Mara Lago on occasion, but there is no evidence Trump ever flew on the Lolita Express or visited Orgy Island. The names of the people who flew there were listed on the plane manifest, and he never shows up. There are accusations but no solid evidence.

Epstein was always protected by powerful men; he apparently had some dirt on many of them. I wonder if Mr. Epstein isn't going to sing like the Vienna Boys Choir now that hes caught. Let us hope so.
