Global Warming causes Allergies

Plants are producing more pollen as a reaction to Global Warming, according to a moron, er, allergist.

Selwyn does a fine job of debunking this nonsense. As he rightly points out, carbon dioxide is what plants eat and breathe, and more of it is a good thing from their perspective. So is more heat; plants like warmth, much more than cold. Oh, if the Earth did warm up some Arctic tundra may not persist, but it would be replaced by lusher, more robust vegetation. Plants aren't in panic over a fraction of a single degree of planetary warming. Plants on Earth well predate animal life, and especially human life. They've been through much warmer and much colder periods and gotten by just fine.

After a little investigation, I found the source of this WCBS NewsRadio 880 segment: An April 17 report entitled "Allergy Season Is Getting Worse As More Children, Adults Diagnosed.â€
The newscaster, Sophia Hall, outlined the matter and then played a couple of clips from one Dr. Payel Gupta, an allergist at ENT & Allergy Associates’ Manhattan, NYC office. After mentioning some basic signs of allergies and diagnostic options, Gupta channeled Al Gore and played climatologist, explaining that Global Warming™ was exacerbating the problem.
"‘Climate change and global warming and how that [sic] impacting allergies and essentially, each pollen season is getting a little bit worse because, essentially, the plant [sic] feel in danger of extinction and [are] releasing more and more pollen because they’re worried that they’re not gonna be around for too long,’ she said,†WCBS relates — essentially.
I do not know if Gupta, aside from being an allergist and closet climatologist but not much of a linguist, is also a plant psychologist. But I had no idea the poor flora were agonizing over their impending doom.

CO2, which is supposedly increasing because of globull warming, is not a pollutant — it’s plant food.
This is why, green ones, human botanists kindly pump it into greenhouses. It’s why crop yields are greater when CO2 levels are higher. (Okay, I’m sorry, we do eat some of you. But the flip side is that marketable plants are under no threat of extinction.) It’s also why the dinosaur age, when CO2 levels were five to 10 times today’s, was characterized by lush foliage everywhere.
Also consider the following:
• Climate data appear very unreliable, and many scientists say that the temperature ceased rising approximately 20 years ago. Moreover, one report indicates that Arctic sea ice is the same thickness now as it was 75 years ago.
• The claim that "97 percent of scientists affirm†man-caused global warming was always false. There’s much disagreement on the matter, and, besides, "consensus†isn’t a term of science, but politics.
• Climate models have been consistently wrong, yet alarmists still want them to shape policy. Is this rational? Would you take a "hot stock tip†from a broker who’d been consistently wrong for more than a generation?

In truth, my stationary friends, you should thank us. Astrobiologist Jack O’Malley-James warned in 2013 that life on Earth will end because of too little CO2 (in approximately one billion years), as you plants can’t photosynthesize when levels are too low. Moreover, some scientists believe we’re poised to enter another ice age, and most living things — flora especially — fare far better in warmer temperatures. So if the anthropogenic-climate-change thesis were true, perhaps we’d just be forestalling your demise.
This is dim-witted beyond words.

The Democrats and their fellow travelers are absolutely desperate. With the Mueller report crashing and burning, they are now actually saying trump's tweets may be "witness tampering" and "obstruction of justice" in an investigation that has BEEN CONCLUDED!

This is astonishing considering the Mueller probe concluded there was no evidence of Russian collusion - the entire point of the probe. The probe is now concluded without anything that with which the President may be charged. In other words, it's over.
But apparently Politico and the other leftstream media types simply cannot accept that. They are blinded by fury.
They are never going to let this drop. In fact, when Trump leaves office they will likely pursue him. And what has made them so desperate is that Bob Barr, U.S. Attorney General, has suggested he's going to get to the bottom of this whole sordid affair. The Left cannot have the truth exposed, that they have weaponized the CIA and FBI and are trying to overturn the results of a fair election. There were crimes committed here, but crimes by Hillary, by Barack Obama, by John Brennan, by James Comey, by any number of top officials appointed by Obama. This was and is an attempted coup by the former junta.
They cannot let this go because they cannot allow this to come to light. And it was with the full participation of the American media, who know full well that Hillary Clinton commissioned the Steele Dossier to destroy Trump well before the election night. Trump was spied on for political reasons and no other. The media knows it. But they are desperate to hide their own complicity, and desperate to destroy Trump so as to restore the "natural order" in Washington and return America to the path of internationalism, and Fabian socialism.

A Really Filthy Tax Scheme from Pritzker in Illinois

Illinois' neckless Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt fortune and billionaire playboy, cheated on his property taxes.
According to Joseph Bustos at the Belleville News Democrat:
I wonder if Democrats will demand his tax returns as vociferously as so many have demanded them from Donald Trump?
Luckily for us that scheme seems to be crapping out!
Who removes toilets from his own home so as to declare the property uninhabitable and get a tax break? That is something few would think of doing and even fewer would actually implement, as most people need their toilets more than the tax break.
One of the cornerstones of Governor Pritzker's agenda is a major tax increase, including the implementation of a heavy, progressive income tax. One of the few good things about Illinois is that at present it does not have a state income tax. Pritzker wants to remedy that.
But how do you take a guy who wants to raise your taxes seriously when he cheats on his own?
It's the classic Ruling Class "above the law" attitude that drove the election of Donald Trump; there are the peasants who are under the Law and the elites who make their own.
Maybe Pritzker should team up with singer Sheryl Crow, who advocated using only one square of toilet paper; she'd make a fine house guest for Mr. Pritzker, who has a shockingly minimal toilet capacity...

Yankees to Replace Kate Smith with Jeremiah Wright

So, the New York Yankees (I now remember why I loathe them) have banned Kate Smith's version of God Bless America from the seventh inning stretch. Gee; what brave souls the Yankees must be! They are so "woke' they banned a song asking for God's blessing!

You cannot judge everyone from a modern perspective; times change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Kate Smith was a singer, not a politician or philosopher. I would like to point out that Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, is still honored to this day despite her being a huge racist and in fact founding PP to promote the euthanasia of the entire African American population. That was her stated goal, and she tried to implement that.
The hypocrisy is astounding.
Kate Smith just sang some parody songs and tried to scrounge a living during the Great Depression as a singer. She did what she had to do.
Maybe the Yankees should switch to a recording of Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, when he cursed America in a sermon the then-future President should have noticed. "Not God bless America, God d##$ed America!"
Maybe that's more the Yankee's speed?

James Byrd Jr. Killer Finally Executed

Justice is slow - but it got there in this case.

It took Texas 21 years to finally execute the murderer John William King, who chained James Byrd Jr. to his car and dragged him to death. That is inexcusable and does not in any way act as a deterrent on others. Justice is supposed to be fairly swift in America; it's written into the Constitution. Why does it have to take so very long?
At any rate, we should be, well, not happy that someone has died but satisfied that justice has finally been served. It does not bring Mr. Byrd back, and it does not give us a sense of joy, but we should be satisfied that a dirtbag got what he deserved in the end.
Hopefully Mr. King repented before the end and will not find himself damned. He had more reason for damnation than many. We don't want this for anyone.

A Few Thoughts for a rainy Wednesday

I was listening to a guest host on the Brian Kilmead radio program today. A caller argued that Trump called Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas was racist. His thinking? It is intended as a pejorative so is a slur on all Native Americans.
Nonsense; it is indeed intended as a pejorative, but it is making fun of WARREN, not Indians, and not women. WARREN is the one who mocked Native Americans by falsely claiming to be one, and using that to get ahead. Trump - and the rest of us - are mocking her for being a liar. I can't imagine how any honest person could argue otherwise.
Incidentally, her real name was Matoaka when she was young and Amonute when she grew up. Pocahontas was a nickname meaning "little wanton". She changed her name to Rebecca when she became a Christian. Pocahontas was primarily a white man's name for her.
Also, I heard it argued that Conservatives should not be so quick to defend a state of emergency being declared on the border because a Democrat President might declare guns a national emergency and use the broad powers granted under that to take away firearms.
This is comparing apples and oranges; the President is specifically tasked with defending the nation's security and he is the sole authority where enforcing border laws are concerned. We have those laws on the books already. Gun control is an entirely different matter; we have a Constitutional Amendment specifically guaranteeing our right to keep and bear arms. We have numerous other laws that devolve from the Second Amendment. It would be not just overreach, but a tyrannical power grab to try to use the state of emergency powers to grab guns. I suspect the Courts would be forced to strike this down.
In one case the President is fulfilling the law, in the other he would be usurping it.
I really don't know how this can be any plainer.
One final thought; liberals are outraged, OUTRAGED, that the Administration wants to ask people if they are legally here or not. Funny; they are the ones who demand we register our guns and ourselves with Uncle Sam, accuse us of being terrorists. while at the same time think nothing of allowing people who do not belong here to determine the number of Congressional Districts we have, and the final resting place for federal funds. They want gun registration, they want a list of "potential domestic terrorists" be kept on Pro-Lifers, returning military, Libertarians. They are the ones who oppose tax reform, demanding we produce this voluminous tax return to give the government detailed information on our livelihoods and assets. They are the ones who demand They are the ones who want us to register our "carbon footprint" and account for every time we exhale. In fact, Obama's NSA regulary spied on Americans in violation of American rights. Funny how the Democrats weren't concerned about privacy in this instance.
Their outrage waxes a bit hollow, if you ask me.

Nonsense; it is indeed intended as a pejorative, but it is making fun of WARREN, not Indians, and not women. WARREN is the one who mocked Native Americans by falsely claiming to be one, and using that to get ahead. Trump - and the rest of us - are mocking her for being a liar. I can't imagine how any honest person could argue otherwise.
Incidentally, her real name was Matoaka when she was young and Amonute when she grew up. Pocahontas was a nickname meaning "little wanton". She changed her name to Rebecca when she became a Christian. Pocahontas was primarily a white man's name for her.
Also, I heard it argued that Conservatives should not be so quick to defend a state of emergency being declared on the border because a Democrat President might declare guns a national emergency and use the broad powers granted under that to take away firearms.
This is comparing apples and oranges; the President is specifically tasked with defending the nation's security and he is the sole authority where enforcing border laws are concerned. We have those laws on the books already. Gun control is an entirely different matter; we have a Constitutional Amendment specifically guaranteeing our right to keep and bear arms. We have numerous other laws that devolve from the Second Amendment. It would be not just overreach, but a tyrannical power grab to try to use the state of emergency powers to grab guns. I suspect the Courts would be forced to strike this down.
In one case the President is fulfilling the law, in the other he would be usurping it.
I really don't know how this can be any plainer.
One final thought; liberals are outraged, OUTRAGED, that the Administration wants to ask people if they are legally here or not. Funny; they are the ones who demand we register our guns and ourselves with Uncle Sam, accuse us of being terrorists. while at the same time think nothing of allowing people who do not belong here to determine the number of Congressional Districts we have, and the final resting place for federal funds. They want gun registration, they want a list of "potential domestic terrorists" be kept on Pro-Lifers, returning military, Libertarians. They are the ones who oppose tax reform, demanding we produce this voluminous tax return to give the government detailed information on our livelihoods and assets. They are the ones who demand They are the ones who want us to register our "carbon footprint" and account for every time we exhale. In fact, Obama's NSA regulary spied on Americans in violation of American rights. Funny how the Democrats weren't concerned about privacy in this instance.
Their outrage waxes a bit hollow, if you ask me.

More alarming details have surfaced about how many people were listed in the Boy Scouts of America’s "perversion files,†according to lawyers who demand the full release of thousands of names of alleged offenders in the files. Nearly 200 of them are from New York and New Jersey.
Though allegations came to light Monday night, a victims' rights attorney who compiled an "incomplete" list of former Boy Scout leaders accused of abuse in New York held a press conferences Tuesday to discuss what he claims to be a widespread pattern of abuse. He also asked more victims to come forward.
The victims’ rights attorney, Jeff Anderson, called it a system of denial and cover-ups. He claims the Boy Scouts have files on child abusers within their ranks dating back to the 1940s.
"For many, many years there's been an excavation of what are called the 'perversion files' — those are files held and hoarded at the Boy Scouts of America headquarters," Anderson said during Tuesday's New York press conference, adding that "those 'perversion files' that they've had reflect that they have removed thousands of offenders of childhood sexual abuse over the years and they've kept that in files secretly."

The case landed in court after Oregon's and 20 other states' attorneys general, as well as the American Medical Association and Planned Parenthood, filed lawsuits.
The rule, which was set to go into effect May 3, concerns a $286 million-a-year grant, known as Title X, that pays for birth control, testing of sexually transmitted diseases, and cancer screenings for 4 million low-income people. It requires the "physical and financial" separation of family planning services and abortion, and does not allow doctors to directly refer patients for abortions.
Is this any surprise?

Federal funds are not permitted to pay for abortions except in the cases of rape, incest, or if a woman's pregnancy threatens her life. The organization receives between $50 million and $60 million from Title X.

Today, April 24th, is Armenian Genocide Memorial Day, a national holiday in which a considerable number of people will visit a monument built in Yerevan dedicated to the memory of this great tragedy that took place during the heights of World War I under the cruelties of the Ottoman Empire who was allied with Germany at that time. The axis of World War I was Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. Their defeat on the great battlefields of Europe led to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire that left the Middle East in the hands of the Allies.
Much debate was thus given over to the drawing up of new borders for the Middle East, that also included initial discussions about the future nation of Israel as well. The aftermath of the new drawing of the map by the Allies following World War I is still with us today, which in particular initially granted larger areas for both Armenia, and then later very similarly to Israel - only to be scaled back each time discussions were made. The destiny and fate of thus both Armenia and Israel are remarkably parallel following both world wars.
World War I gave the Ottoman Empire an opportunity to carry out a cleansing of the Armenians that began in earnest in 1915, but such plans are predicated upon serious planning stages long before.

Media tries to give impression Sri Lanka blast was Buddhist attack

Yesterday when I heard about the terrorist attacks on Christian Churches, the reports on television all tried to suggest that they were done by BUDDHISTS; there was no suggestion that this was Islamic terrorism. I knew yesterday they were lying to us by omission. Sri Lanka is primarily Buddhist.
But Buddhists are an inoffensive lot, and don't do that sort of thing. The only people who would attack churches are Muslims or Communists, and Communists are more about going after political targets. This was a no-brainer. But the media tried to pretend it was unrelated to Islam.
It is likely the masterminds was Zahran Hashim, a Muslim terrorist.
We have been in an asymmetric war with them for a long time. Still, the media obfuscates and pretends. You cannot win a war you don't know or don't try to fight. If we need proof that the media are a bunch of traitors to their own country, we have it here.

Down's Syndrome can cause mental retardation, but it does not necessitate it. There are plenty of Downs people with average, even high I.Q.'s. Downs is a result of a duplication of chromosome 21.

In today's feel good story, Rachel Alexander tells us that all Christian denominations are moving to the Right and increasingly becoming Republican.
