Global Warming causes Allergies

Timothy Birdnow

Plants are producing more pollen as a reaction to Global Warming, according to a moron, er, allergist.

Selwyn Duke has the story at The New American:

After a little investigation, I found the source of this WCBS NewsRadio 880 segment: An April 17 report entitled "Allergy Season Is Getting Worse As More Children, Adults Diagnosed.”

The newscaster, Sophia Hall, outlined the matter and then played a couple of clips from one Dr. Payel Gupta, an allergist at ENT & Allergy Associates’ Manhattan, NYC office. After mentioning some basic signs of allergies and diagnostic options, Gupta channeled Al Gore and played climatologist, explaining that Global Warming™ was exacerbating the problem.

"‘Climate change and global warming and how that [sic] impacting allergies and essentially, each pollen season is getting a little bit worse because, essentially, the plant [sic] feel in danger of extinction and [are] releasing more and more pollen because they’re worried that they’re not gonna be around for too long,’ she said,” WCBS relates — essentially.

I do not know if Gupta, aside from being an allergist and closet climatologist but not much of a linguist, is also a plant psychologist. But I had no idea the poor flora were agonizing over their impending doom.

I despair of human stupidity.

Selwyn does a fine job of debunking this nonsense. As he rightly points out, carbon dioxide is what plants eat and breathe, and more of it is a good thing from their perspective. So is more heat; plants like warmth, much more than cold. Oh, if the Earth did warm up some Arctic tundra may not persist, but it would be replaced by lusher, more robust vegetation. Plants aren't in panic over a fraction of a single degree of planetary warming. Plants on Earth well predate animal life, and especially human life. They've been through much warmer and much colder periods and gotten by just fine.

Selwyn points out:

CO2, which is supposedly increasing because of globull warming, is not a pollutant — it’s plant food.

This is why, green ones, human botanists kindly pump it into greenhouses. It’s why crop yields are greater when CO2 levels are higher. (Okay, I’m sorry, we do eat some of you. But the flip side is that marketable plants are under no threat of extinction.) It’s also why the dinosaur age, when CO2 levels were five to 10 times today’s, was characterized by lush foliage everywhere.

Also consider the following:

• Climate data appear very unreliable, and many scientists say that the temperature ceased rising approximately 20 years ago. Moreover, one report indicates that Arctic sea ice is the same thickness now as it was 75 years ago.

• The claim that "97 percent of scientists affirm” man-caused global warming was always false. There’s much disagreement on the matter, and, besides, "consensus” isn’t a term of science, but politics.

• Climate models have been consistently wrong, yet alarmists still want them to shape policy. Is this rational? Would you take a "hot stock tip” from a broker who’d been consistently wrong for more than a generation?

(More science-denier-debunking climate realism here.)

In truth, my stationary friends, you should thank us. Astrobiologist Jack O’Malley-James warned in 2013 that life on Earth will end because of too little CO2 (in approximately one billion years), as you plants can’t photosynthesize when levels are too low. Moreover, some scientists believe we’re poised to enter another ice age, and most living things — flora especially — fare far better in warmer temperatures. So if the anthropogenic-climate-change thesis were true, perhaps we’d just be forestalling your demise.

This is dim-witted beyond words.

For Thee but not for Me

Warner Todd Houston makes the following observation:

Hey, @CoryBooker @BetoORourke @JoeBiden ya'all keep claiming women need more power and you each keep pledging to have a female on your ticket as vice prez. Well, if you think that women need more power, why not just drop out of the race and endorse one of the women running? So, women need more power, but only if they're subservient to you? I don't get it

Solar Coffee Klatch

Timothy Birdnow

Solar cells need their morning coffee, too!

From Physorg:

The idea began as a joke over morning coffee. "One day, as we were discussing perovskite solar cells, our colleague Rui Wang said, 'If we need coffee to boost our energy then what about perovskites? Would they need coffee to perform better?'" recalls Jingjing Xue, a Ph.D. candidate in Professor Yang Yang's research group at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at UCLA.

The offhand comment led the team to recall that the caffeine in coffee is an alkaloid compound containing molecular structures that could interact with the precursors of perovskite materials—compounds with a particular crystal structure that form the light-harvesting layer in a class of solar cells. Previous attempts to improve the thermal stability of these solar cells have included enhancing the perovskite layer by introducing compounds such as dimethyl sulfoxide, but researchers have struggled to boost the cells' efficiency and long-term stability. No one had tried caffeine.

Realizing they might be onto something, the team set aside their coffee and began investigating further. They added caffeine to the perovskite layer of forty solar cells and used infrared spectroscopy (which uses infrared radiation to identify chemical compounds) to determine that the caffeine had successfully bonded with the material.

You guessed it;  it worked. In fact, caffeinated solar cells may compete favorably with the traditional silicon ones. But as of now this only works with the perovskite cells, to help them achieve higher crystallinity and smooth out imperfections. But the research is ongoing.

Dems, Media go full Ahab

Timothy Birdnow

The Democrats and their fellow travelers are absolutely desperate. With the Mueller report crashing and burning, they are now actually saying trump's tweets may be "witness tampering" and "obstruction of justice" in an investigation that has BEEN CONCLUDED!

]Politico says:

Special counsel Robert Mueller may be done, but President Donald Trump and his team are still adding to an already hefty record of evidence that could fuel impeachment proceedings or future criminal indictments.

Team Trump’s bellicose tweets and public statements in the last few days are potentially exposing Trump to fresh charges of witness intimidation, obstruction of justice and impeding a congressional investigation — not to mention giving lawmakers more fodder for their presidential probes — according to Democrats and legal experts.

This is astonishing considering the Mueller probe concluded there was no evidence of Russian collusion - the entire point of the probe. The probe is now concluded without anything that with which the President may be charged. In other words, it's over.

But apparently Politico and the other leftstream media types simply cannot accept that. They are blinded by fury.

They are never going to let this drop. In fact, when Trump leaves office they will likely pursue him. And what has made them so desperate is that Bob Barr, U.S. Attorney General, has suggested he's going to get to the bottom of this whole sordid affair. The Left cannot have the truth exposed, that they have weaponized the CIA and FBI and are trying to overturn the results of a fair election. There were crimes committed here, but crimes by Hillary, by Barack Obama, by John Brennan, by James Comey, by any number of top officials appointed by Obama. This was and is an attempted coup by the former junta.

They cannot let this go because they cannot allow this to come to light. And it was with the full participation of the American media, who know full well that Hillary Clinton commissioned the Steele Dossier to destroy Trump well before the election night. Trump was spied on for political reasons and no other. The media knows it. But they are desperate to hide their own complicity, and desperate to destroy Trump so as to restore the "natural order" in Washington and return America to the path of internationalism, and Fabian socialism.

They give away the game here:

Essentially, legal experts say, Mueller is signaling that Trump could face criminal charges even if he was impeached.

They plan to pursue Trump tot he ends of the Earth, in this life or the next. They are all Ahab now:

How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough. He tasks me; he heaps me; I see in him outrageous strength, with an inscrutable malice sinewing it. That inscrutable thing is chiefly what I hate; and be the white whale agent, or be the white whale principal, I will wreak that hate upon him.

[...]

"Aye, aye! and I'll chase him round Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway Maelstrom, and round perdition's flames before I give him up. And this is what ye have shipped for, men! to chase that white whale on both sides of land, and over all sides of earth, till he spouts black blood and rolls fin out."

A Really Filthy Tax Scheme from Pritzker in Illinois

Timothy Birdnow

Illinois' neckless Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt fortune and billionaire playboy, cheated on his property taxes.

According to Joseph Bustos at the Belleville News Democrat:

Gov. J.B. Pritzker, his wife M.K., and his brother-in-law are under federal investigation for a property tax break that netted the billionaire governor $331,000 in tax relief, Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ reported Wednesday.

WBEZ reported the probe began in October while Pritzker, a Democrat, campaigned to unseat then Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. The station added there are no signs that criminal charges are imminent.

The Pritzkers received the tax break after toilets were removed from a mansion the couple owns. That mansion was later deemed uninhabitable.

A Cook County inspector general called the move a "scheme to defraud” taxpayers.

I wonder if Democrats will demand his tax returns as vociferously as so many have demanded them from Donald Trump?

Luckily for us that scheme seems to be crapping out!

Who removes toilets from his own home so as to declare the property uninhabitable and get a tax break? That is something few would think of doing and even fewer would actually implement, as most people need their toilets more than the tax break.

One of the cornerstones of Governor Pritzker's agenda is a major tax increase, including the implementation of a heavy, progressive income tax. One of the few good things about Illinois is that at present it does not have a state income tax. Pritzker wants to remedy that.

But how do you take a guy who wants to raise your taxes seriously when he cheats on his own?

It's the classic Ruling Class "above the law" attitude that drove the election of Donald Trump; there are the peasants who are under the Law and the elites who make their own.

Maybe Pritzker should team up with singer Sheryl Crow, who advocated using only one square of toilet paper; she'd make a fine house guest for Mr. Pritzker, who has a shockingly minimal toilet capacity...

Yankees to Replace Kate Smith with Jeremiah Wright

Timothy Birdnow

So, the New York Yankees (I now remember why I loathe them) have banned Kate Smith's version of God Bless America from the seventh inning stretch. Gee; what brave souls the Yankees must be! They are so "woke' they banned a song asking for God's blessing!

From Conservative HQ:

Victor Morton reported at The Washington Times, "The New York Yankees’ anti-racism efforts have extended to pulling from their seventh-inning stretch a famous recording of the legendary Kate Smith singing ‘God Bless America.’ Not because anyone has complained that the song is racist, but because Smith recorded other racially insensitive standards from and during the Jim Crow era.

"The Yankees pulled Smith’s ‘God Bless America’ from the rotation at the start of the season, but the New York Daily News reported the reason Thursday — ‘the Yankees were made aware of Smith’s history of potential racism.’

"According to the Daily News, the ‘potential racism’ of which the Yankees were made aware included that she recorded ‘Pickaninny Heaven,’ a jingle about black children where, among other things, they fantasize about ‘great big watermelons.’ She recorded a film clip to promote the song at a black orphanage and, the Daily News reported, ‘much of the imagery is startlingly racist.’”

Uh, in the 1930's EVERYONE was startlingly racist. That's why the Nazis and Fascists came to power. You cannot judge everyone from a modern perspective; times change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Kate Smith was a singer, not a politician or philosopher. I would like to point out that Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, is still honored to this day despite her being a huge racist and in fact founding PP to promote the euthanasia of the entire African American population. That was her stated goal, and she tried to implement that.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

Kate Smith just sang some parody songs and tried to scrounge a living during the Great Depression as a singer. She did what she had to do.

Maybe the Yankees should switch to a recording of Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, when he cursed America in a sermon the then-future President should have noticed. "Not God bless America, God d##$ed America!"

Maybe that's more the Yankee's speed?

James Byrd Jr. Killer Finally Executed

Timothy Birdnow

Justice is slow - but it got there in this case.

https://www.mail.com/news/us/9133124-latest-texas-executes-man-1998-dragging-death.html#.7518-stage-hero1-9

It took Texas 21 years to finally execute the murderer John William King, who chained James Byrd Jr. to his car and dragged him to death. That is inexcusable and does not in any way act as a deterrent on others. Justice is supposed to be fairly swift in America; it's written into the Constitution. Why does it have to take so very long?

At any rate, we should be, well, not happy that someone has died but satisfied that justice has finally been served. It does not bring Mr. Byrd back, and it does not give us a sense of joy, but we should be satisfied that a dirtbag got what he deserved in the end.

Hopefully Mr. King repented before the end and will not find himself damned. He had more reason for damnation than many. We don't want this for anyone.

Kamala Harris has second thoughts

Jack Kemp

Hat Tip: Dana Mathewson

Kamala Harris has been reconsidering her idea about letting regular convicted criminals and terrorist inmates vote in our elections.

Hotair.com notes:

On Monday night, Kamala Harris told a CNN town hall audience that "we should have that conversation” about allowing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to help select our next president. By yesterday afternoon, Harris had all of the conversation on that question she ever wanted, and then some. Speaking in New Hampshire at a campaign event, Harris suddenly backed the status quo for murderers and terrorists and others convicted of "the most extreme types of crimes”:
END OF QUOTE

Yes, some ideas sound better with a glass of Chardonnay with your friends than the do when presented to the general voting public - especially if that public lives mostly beyond the borders of California.

A Few Thoughts for a rainy Wednesday

Timothy Birdnow

I was listening to a guest host on the Brian Kilmead radio program today. A caller argued that Trump called Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas was racist. His thinking? It is intended as a pejorative so is a slur on all Native Americans.

Nonsense; it is indeed intended as a pejorative, but it is making fun of WARREN, not Indians, and not women. WARREN is the one who mocked Native Americans by falsely claiming to be one, and using that to get ahead. Trump - and the rest of us - are mocking her for being a liar. I can't imagine how any honest person could argue otherwise.

Incidentally, her real name was Matoaka when she was young and Amonute when she grew up. Pocahontas was a nickname meaning "little wanton". She changed her name to Rebecca when she became a Christian. Pocahontas was primarily a white man's name for her.

Also, I heard it argued that Conservatives should not be so quick to defend a state of emergency being declared on the border because a Democrat President might declare guns a national emergency and use the broad powers granted under that to take away firearms.

This is comparing apples and oranges; the President is specifically tasked with defending the nation's security and he is the sole authority where enforcing border laws are concerned. We have those laws on the books already. Gun control is an entirely different matter; we have a Constitutional Amendment specifically guaranteeing our right to keep and bear arms. We have numerous other laws that devolve from the Second Amendment. It would be not just overreach, but a tyrannical power grab to try to use the state of emergency powers to grab guns. I suspect the Courts would be forced to strike this down.

In one case the President is fulfilling the law, in the other he would be usurping it.

I really don't know how this can be any plainer.

One final thought; liberals are outraged, OUTRAGED, that the Administration wants to ask people if they are legally here or not. Funny; they are the ones who demand we register our guns and ourselves with Uncle Sam, accuse us of being terrorists. while at the same time think nothing of allowing people who do not belong here to determine the number of Congressional Districts we have, and the final resting place for federal funds. They want gun registration, they want a list of "potential domestic terrorists" be kept on Pro-Lifers, returning military, Libertarians. They are the ones who oppose tax reform, demanding we produce this voluminous tax return to give the government detailed information on our livelihoods and assets. They are the ones who demand They are the ones who want us to register our "carbon footprint" and account for every time we exhale. In fact, Obama's NSA regulary spied on Americans in violation of American rights. Funny how the Democrats weren't concerned about privacy in this instance.

Their outrage waxes a bit hollow, if you ask me.

Over Seven Thousand Molester Scout Leaders

Timothy Birdnow

Thousands of leaders were listed as sex abusers in a recent lawsuit.

More alarming details have surfaced about how many people were listed in the Boy Scouts of America’s "perversion files,” according to lawyers who demand the full release of thousands of names of alleged offenders in the files. Nearly 200 of them are from New York and New Jersey.

Though allegations came to light Monday night, a victims' rights attorney who compiled an "incomplete" list of former Boy Scout leaders accused of abuse in New York held a press conferences Tuesday to discuss what he claims to be a widespread pattern of abuse. He also asked more victims to come forward.

The victims’ rights attorney, Jeff Anderson, called it a system of denial and cover-ups. He claims the Boy Scouts have files on child abusers within their ranks dating back to the 1940s.

"For many, many years there's been an excavation of what are called the 'perversion files' — those are files held and hoarded at the Boy Scouts of America headquarters," Anderson said during Tuesday's New York press conference, adding that "those 'perversion files' that they've had reflect that they have removed thousands of offenders of childhood sexual abuse over the years and they've kept that in files secretly."

There are now 7,819 perps and 12,254 victims.

We warned about this. Putting homosexuals in that sort of position was like putting a baby caribou in a pen with a pack of wolves. It was ripe for molestation and abuse. Idiots like former BSA head Rex Tillerson should have known this was a recipe for disaster.

I am not saying that homosexuals are pedophiles, but allowing openly gay men to become Scout leaders is an invitation to those who are. Any fool should have known.

But the BSA does not even call itself Boy Scout any longer, but the gender-neutral "Scouting" and are accepting girls. Brilliant! Now men who want to molest young girls get an equal shot!

Half of America wants more Religion

Timothy Birdnow

Half of Americans think religion should play a greater role in society, according to a recent PEW study.

This is actually pretty sad; America was an overwhelming religious country and most people would have agreed with that forty years ago. Our slide into atheism/agnosticism is a coefficient of our slide into cultural and moral decay.

Obama Judge to Stop Planned Parenthood Funding Ban

Timothy Birdnow

An Obama appointed Federale says he will issue a stay on Trump rules banning federal funding for the abortion mill Planned Parenthood.

According to the Washex:

U.S. District Judge Michael McShane, a nominee of former President Barack Obama, said Tuesday he would grant a preliminary injunction, calling the rule a "ham-fisted approach to public health policy.'' The case landed in court after Oregon's and 20 other states' attorneys general, as well as the American Medical Association and Planned Parenthood, filed lawsuits.

The rule, which was set to go into effect May 3, concerns a $286 million-a-year grant, known as Title X, that pays for birth control, testing of sexually transmitted diseases, and cancer screenings for 4 million low-income people. It requires the "physical and financial" separation of family planning services and abortion, and does not allow doctors to directly refer patients for abortions.

Is this any surprise?

A Feral, ur, Federal Judge has no right to dictate any of this.

The article continues:

Federal funds are not permitted to pay for abortions except in the cases of rape, incest, or if a woman's pregnancy threatens her life. Abortion foes, however, have long fought for rules along the lines of those published by the Trump administration because they say allocating federal funds for clinics such as Planned Parenthood frees them up to move money elsewhere and provide abortions. The organization receives between $50 million and $60 million from Title X.

Any organization that provides abortions should not receive taxpayer dollars, period. This is akin to saying businessmen aren't being strongarmed by the Mafia but are voluntarily paying for the service the Mafia provides them. Right.

Sanity and humanity return to the World Bank?

Paul Driessen

The World Bank’s executive board has unanimously approved Former Treasury Department Under Secretary for International Affairs David Malpass as its new president. He began his five-year term this week.

Having seen abject poverty up close in multiple countries, columnist Deroy Murdock says "Malpass is the ideal candidate to cleanse and modernize an institution charged with helping developing nations climb the economic ladder.” Other observers say the best we can realistically hope for is that he can prevent the World Bank’s energy and development policies from getting any worse.

My article this week presents a compelling case for why Mr. Malpass should do everything in his power to bring energy and climate sanity and humanity back to this long misguided institution

Obama Admin. knew about contaminated water in Flint

Timothy Birdnow

The Obama EPA knew that the water in Flint, Michigan, was filthy and contaminated but did nothing, a Federal judge has ruled, paving the way for civil lawsuits.

From the Daily Caller:

The EPA under former President Barack Obama was too slow to intervene in the case, according to U.S. Judge Linda Parker, who ruled that the federal government was not immune from legal action in the case. More than a dozen lawsuits were filed against Michigan and city officials after researchers discovered in 2016 that Flint’s water contained elevated levels of lead in 2014 and 2015.

"The impact on the health of the nearly 100,000 residents of the City of Flint remains untold,” Parker wrote in her opinion. "It is anticipated, however, that the injury caused by the lead-contaminated public water supply system will affect the residents for years and likely generations to come.”

The EPA knew Flint officials "were not warning Flint’s residents that they were being supplied lead-laced water. Quite to the contrary, the EPA learned that State and local officials were misleading residents to believe that there was nothing wrong with the water supply,” the judge added.

While Obama eventually moved on this, he never actually delivered a dime in aid; it had to wait until the Trump Administration for money to reach Flint to address the problem. Meanwhile, the good people of Flint have taken in far too much lead, a cause of brain damage and other serious health issues.

Of course, Flint is a Democratic stronghold, so we know about the brain damage part...

Podesta plotted Russia Smear

Timothy Birdnow

John Podesta cooked up the "Russian Collusion" lie solely as a tool to damage Trump. From Gateway Pundit:

As TGP reported on Sunday Jimmy Dore gave a speech using facts and public documents to expose the origins of the Clinton-Podesta Trump collusion narrative.

Of course, there was never anything there between Trump and Russia. Russia was the furthest thing from the Trump campaign. But, as Jimmy Dore explains, Hillary Clinton knew her biggest vulnerability was the fact that she sold off one-fifth of US uranium to the Russians for a few hundred million and a half-million dollar speech to Bill Clinton from Putin..

So John Podesta devised the lie to project on Trump that he was the candidate colluding with Russia.

It was all initiated by the Clinton inner circle.

In December 2015 the plan was devised to "slaughter Donald Trump” by linking his to Vladimir Putin and Russia.
And John Podesta was the key player behind the scheme.
This email was leaked by Wikileaks and revealed John Podesta and Hillary’s inner circle’s plan to "slaughter Trump.”

Jimmie Dorey is a comedian and not a "Journalist" or other serious type blowhard, so he is to be taken with a grain of salt. But does anyone really doubt Podesta was capable of this? I knew exactly what it was the moment I started hearing Hillary talking about this before the election. I knew Podesta was the guy who hatched this scheme, too. This had all the earnarks of a political dirty trick; it only gained steam because the media reported it as "objective" and the Republicans, angry at having been shown up by this interloper, wouldn't call it out. There never was any there there.

Read the article and listen to the presentation.

Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

Our old friend Mark Musser reminds us of the Armenian genocide:

Today, April 24th, is Armenian Genocide Memorial Day, a national holiday in which a considerable number of people will visit a monument built in Yerevan dedicated to the memory of this great tragedy that took place during the heights of World War I under the cruelties of the Ottoman Empire who was allied with Germany at that time. The axis of World War I was Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. Their defeat on the great battlefields of Europe led to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire that left the Middle East in the hands of the Allies.

Much debate was thus given over to the drawing up of new borders for the Middle East, that also included initial discussions about the future nation of Israel as well. The aftermath of the new drawing of the map by the Allies following World War I is still with us today, which in particular initially granted larger areas for both Armenia, and then later very similarly to Israel - only to be scaled back each time discussions were made. The destiny and fate of thus both Armenia and Israel are remarkably parallel following both world wars.

World War I gave the Ottoman Empire an opportunity to carry out a cleansing of the Armenians that began in earnest in 1915, but such plans are predicated upon serious planning stages long before.

Media tries to give impression Sri Lanka blast was Buddhist attack

Timothy Birdnow

Yesterday when I heard about the terrorist attacks on Christian Churches, the reports on television all tried to suggest that they were done by BUDDHISTS; there was no suggestion that this was Islamic terrorism. I knew yesterday they were lying to us by omission. Sri Lanka is primarily Buddhist.

But Buddhists are an inoffensive lot, and don't do that sort of thing. The only people who would attack churches are Muslims or Communists, and Communists are more about going after political targets. This was a no-brainer. But the media tried to pretend it was unrelated to Islam.

It is likely the masterminds was Zahran Hashim, a Muslim terrorist.

We have been in an asymmetric war with them for a long time. Still, the media obfuscates and pretends. You cannot win a war you don't know or don't try to fight. If we need proof that the media are a bunch of traitors to their own country, we have it here.

Feel Good Story

Timothy Birdnow

A young woman with Down's Syndrome was rejected for a job as a baker by over 22 bakeries, so she opened her own.

From Worthy Things:

Collette Divitto has always been an avid baker. Ever since she was fifteen, she remembers baking on weekends and for friends and family. As her passion grew, she knew she wanted to spend her life as a baker. When she was 22, she quickly began applying for jobs all over Boston.

She began hitting rejection after rejection.

Many people who interviewed me for jobs said I was really nice but not a good fit for them,” writes Divitto in an interview with Upworthy. "It was really hurtful and I felt rejected a lot.”

Divitto began to feel self-conscious about her down syndrome and wondered if that was why she was facing rejection in so many interviews. Despite these rejections, she decided not to let them dissuade her from pursuing her passion. With the help of her mother and her sister, the three of them set up a company with her called Collettey’s.

She has since made a success out of the company and is living her dream. Good for her!

Down's Syndrome can cause mental retardation, but it does not necessitate it. There are plenty of Downs people with average, even high I.Q.'s. Downs is a result of a duplication of chromosome 21.

It's great that this woman didn't let it hold lher back!

Christian Political Revival in America

Timothy Birdnow

In today's feel good story, Rachel Alexander tells us that all Christian denominations are moving to the Right and increasingly becoming Republican.

From Intellectual Conservative:

That’s from a study by political scientist Ryan Burge of East Illinois University. He analyzed the Cooperative Congressional Election Study from 2008 and 2018. It surveyed members of 34 religions — mostly Christian — on their political preferences. Of those surveyed, 27 became more Republican over the 10-year span. Only seven became more Democratic. And four of those seven still score as clearly Republican.

Assemblies of God became the most Republican, although they already leaned Republican. Nondenominational fundamentalists became less Republican, but are still the second most Republican tradition. The Mormons moved the farthest towards the Democrats of any tradition, but still lean clearly Republican. The traditions that moved farthest right were the other Lutheran churches (those outside the mainline church), other Pentecostal churches (outside the Assemblies of God), the independent Baptists, and the Eastern Orthodox.

A few churches even shifted their allegiance. Roman Catholics, Orthodox, other Lutherans, and the General Association of Regular Baptists switched from leaning Democrat to leaning Republican. Several denominations that leaned Democrat became less Democratic. They include the Episcopal Church and the United Church of Christ.

The survey also included Jews, agnostics, and Buddhists. All became less Democratic. Those whom "identify as nothing in particular” (Burge’s term) drifted to the right, though remained on the Democratic side. The National Baptist Convention, an historically black church and the most solidly Democrat denomination, became less Democratic. On the other hand, atheists moved strongly left.

This should come as no surprise; the mask is off modern Liberalism, and the naked skull of totalitarianism has become visible. Democrats no longer pretend to be mainstream, racing each-other to adopt socialism/communism and rejecting mainstream Americans as deplorables. No rational Christian can pretend that these people are on the side of Christ any longer. For a long time many Christians were deceived by that lie. But it is becoming increasingly clear that Progressivism is the enemy of God and Man.

I wonder if this awakening is not too little too late.
