Manning gets it Cut Off - his Benefits, that is

Dana Mathewson

I know you're all waiting breathlessly for this information.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/01/19/manning-to-reportedly-lose-transgender-benefits-with-dishonorable-discharge.html

Chelsea Manning, the transgender soldier who leaked classified documents to WikiLeaks, will reportedly lose her military health care benefits under the terms of her commutation

a note from jack kemp:

I guess Manning will have to join the cast of "Hamilton" on Broadway to come up with the money for any further operations. Or maybe they can show the operation on a pay per view cable tv special.

Conservation – not more control

Paul Driessen

The Endangered Species Act and other conservation measures are supposed to help protect and improve plant and wildlife habitats and populations – not justify and expand government control over land use and livelihoods. But too often far greater control is the result – or the intent – of many ESA programs and decisions.

A last-ditch regulatory edict by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to "protect” rusty patched bumblebees is an excellent example. With this one action, the FWS has given itself authority to review and control agricultural and development activities on hundreds of millions of acres in America’s corn and soybean belts, in at least 13 states: across the Midwest, south to Kentucky and the Carolinas, and northward to Maine.

My article chronicles the power-grabbing nature of this and other waning-days Obama Administration actions – and calls on Congress and the Trump Administration to repeal, replace, repair and improve the Endangered Species Act.

Conservation – not more control

Collusive lawsuits helped control more US lands. Congress must repeal and replace the ESA.

Paul Driessen

President Obama’s parting edicts betrayed Israel and commuted prison sentences for terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera and traitor Bradley/Chelsea Manning. Another abused the Antiquities Act yet again, by banning economic use on an additional 1.7 million acres in Utah, where the federal government controls 61% of the state’s land. (This one new lock-up is nearly equal to Delaware and Rhode Island combined.)

The withdrawal was on top of 320 million acres in national park, preserve, wildlife refuge, wilderness and other restrictive land use categories – plus "buffer zones” around many of those areas – nearly all of it in the eleven westernmost states and Alaska. That’s equivalent to virtually all the land in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

Folks in Eastern and Midwestern states have no idea what it is like to have federal bureaucrats controlling 30-87% of lands within their borders, and affecting vast additional acreage – questioning, studying, delaying, blocking and escalating costs for every proposal and project. They’re about to get an inkling.

With yet another last-minute regulation, the Obama Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) designated the rusty patched bumblebee (RPB) an endangered species, because its populations have declined significantly in recent years. It did so in response to a petition and a sue-and-settle lawsuit by the activist Xerces Society, which originally claimed the decline was due to "low population dynamics,” habitat loss, and a nasty parasitic fungal infection that spread to RPBs from commercially raised bees imported from Europe.

Then, out of the blue, Xerces and the FWS suddenly and inexplicably revised their rationales, to argue that most of the blame should be attributed to pesticides, specifically neonicotinoids – the advanced technology, reduced-risk pesticides that farmers love and radical environmentalists have been trying to ban for years. In another nod to green extremists, the agency also blamed herbicides like RoundUp, saying the weeds they kill in farmers’ fields and along highways are important food sources for RPBs.

(Friendly sue-and-settle lawsuits between pressure groups and regulators have been a hallmark of the Obama Administration, and there is good reason to suspect carefully plotted collusion in this case.)

These always rare bumblebees make their nests in the ground. That means any activities that disturb the soil could impact them: road, pipeline, transmission line (for wind, solar or conventional power), housing and other construction projects, and even plowing fields for crops. Ironically, RoundUp-ready crops largely eliminate plowing, which would seemingly increase RPB habitats and populations.

In its rush to beat the January 20 noon deadline, the FWS failed to publish any "survey protocols” for finding RPB nests and avoiding damage to them. All of this means farmers, developers and even homeowners are in murky legal waters and could face fines if they inadvertently harm any nests or bees.

Vast areas are affected. Rusty patched bumblebees were once found from the Dakotas through the Midwest, down to Kentucky and the Carolinas and northward to Maine. Xerces claims the bees have been "sighted” since 2000 in 13 states – including many major corn and soybean producing states, as well as the Upper- and Mid-Atlantic seaboard states.

Having that huge swath of the USA in legal jeopardy – and subject to review, control, delay and penalty by the FWS – is bad enough. But the agency is also pondering endangered status for two more bee species.

The yellow-banded bumblebee has been found all the way from Montana east to New England, and down the Atlantic coast to Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina. The western bumblebee’s range includes the entire block of eleven western states plus Alaska: more than a billion acres – nearly half of the entire United States! Just to protect a bumblebee species and its potential habitat.

Put them together, and the Fish & Wildlife Service would regulate nearly three-fourths of the USA. The bumblebee listings would be the highest impact designations in Endangered Species Act (ESA) history – and would rival the EPA’s CO2 endangerment rule, Clean Power Plan and Waters of the US power grab.

Most Americans associate the ESA with prominent conservation achievements, such as reversing the near-extinction of iconic national emblems like the bald eagle, alligator and bison. However, the ESA has increasingly been invoked to "protect” small, obscure creatures like beetles, other bugs and the snail darter of Tellico Dam fame – and often to block energy and economic development.

Three invented spotted owl subspecies ended timber cutting in many states – often resulting in super-hot conflagrations that incinerate forests, soil organisms and endangered species alike. The delta smelt’s 2010 endangered species designation is being used to deny water to farmers and communities in California’s Central Valley, costing thousands of jobs, millions in agricultural damage and numerous bankruptcies – while regulators flushed billions of gallons of water into the sea in unsuccessful efforts to help the fish.

Indeed, it seems only wind turbines are exempted from the ESA’s draconian rules and penalties. Worse, threatened or endangered designation has only rarely been used as a foundation for proactive efforts to restore species populations. In some cases, environmentalists have opposed human intervention: hatching California condors and releasing the grown adults into the wild, or employing fish hatcheries for smelts.

The real activist and regulator goal of ESA designations – and actual result – seems to be land use control.

With regard to neonicotinoid seed treatments, which account for over 90% of neonic usage, even EPA recently concluded that these insecticides pose no threat to honeybees, and careful practices can easily mitigate potential risks from spraying them. In fact, growing scientific evidence is so overwhelming that neonics are safe for domesticated bees and wild bees (native bees) alike that anti-pesticide groups are now focusing on bumblebees, which have declined in numbers and about which much less is known.

The real threats to all bee species continue to be natural and imported mites, fungi and other diseases. There is little evidence that government-mandated efforts to "restore” lost habitat for bumblebees (or other "endangered” species) will actually bring them back.

Many suspect that these last-ditch DC diktats have little to do with conservation – and are primarily designed to expand government control over land use and development. That’s why a 2016 FWS decision to expand its definition of "critical habitat” caused 18 state attorneys general to sue the agency over its asserted authority to "protect” areas where endangered species do not currently live, calling it an unconstitutional "taking” of private property without compensation.

This and countless other Obama Administration actions also help explain why 98% of all US counties voted for Donald Trump, and why Republicans now control the House and Senate, 33 governorships and 68 state legislative chambers. Hillary Clinton won only in coastal cities, academic enclaves and very poor areas; in fact, without her margins in just five New York City and LA counties, she would have lost both the popular and Electoral College votes, notes John Steele Gordon.

All of this suggests that most of America is tired of being governed by unelected, unaccountable, elitist, illegitimate Washington bureaucrats who don’t understand or care about citizens’ concerns and needs.

The endangered species actions raise vital questions for the new Congress and Trump Administration:

Amid all the other high-priority items, how can we block and defund this last-ditch RPB overreach?

How can we repeal, replace, repair and improve the Endangered Species Act, to prevent future abuses, balance human and wildlife needs, and find ways to recover populations of threatened and endangered species without controlling or shutting down thousands of human activities on hundreds of millions of acres? It’s an essential component of restoring power from Washington to the people.

Watching a lie on CBS Inauguration coverage

Jack Kemp

I'm watching the CBS Inauguration coverage to observe the events in Washington. The CBS reporters mentioned that many Democratic House and Senate members are wearing large blue buttons that say something like "Save Our Coverage," refering to Obamacare. What hypocrisy on the part of both these elected officials and CBS. No one pointed out that Congress specifically exempted itself from having to have Obamacare coverage and opted for much better health insurance. To paraphrase Bill Clinton, I guess what they meant is dependent on the definition of "our" is. In this case, "our" means you poor saps in flyover country and the poorer neighborhoods of New York and Los Angeles and not specifically Congress itself.

Trumping the media

Paul Driessen

As the inauguration of a new president and new era in public policy and media relations draws near, this article by Scot Faulkner (former Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives under Newt Gingrich) offers fascinating historical context and pithy observations that your readers will enjoy – and will find extremely useful in speaking with Trump and Republican supporters and opponents alike.

Trumping the media

The President-Elect upends a news media that’s still in denial about its vanished world

Scot Faulkner

President-Elect Donald Trump’s first news conference since the November election vividly displayed how he has turned the media world upside down. His unprecedented campaign and transition points to an administration committed to solidifying a media revolution that began decades ago.

The media, especially the 95 percent within the media who are liberals, are in free fall in audience and credibility. A recent Associated Press survey reported that 96 percent of Americans no longer trust the "mainstream media.” The media elite are still in denial that their world of unaccountable privilege and bias has vanished.

How the media elite respond will determine whether anyone listens to them ever again. The latest Buzzfeed/CNN promotion of false Trump trash is further evidence that the elite are on a different planet from the real world.

The American news media was "middle of the road” and patriotic until the mid-1960s. At that time the older generation of media moguls retired or died, ushering in activist liberals. Media liberalism became radical with the Vietnam War and Watergate.

Accuracy in Media (AIM) was founded in 1969 by Reed Irvine to expose this new liberal media bias. AIM’s documentation remained within conservative circles until Vice President Spiro Agnew used its research in boldly partisan speeches during the 1970 elections.

Americans were also held captive by three broadcast networks and Public Broadcasting until CSPAN cable television entered the scene in 1979. Conservative Members in the House of Representatives used CSPAN to conduct guerrilla theater. Using large photos, graphs and models of Soviet airplanes, House conservatives began to directly educate the public about big government and the Soviet threat. It was the first breech of the liberal media filters.

In April 1980, two senior news editors, Arnaud De Borchgrave and Robert Moss, published The Spike, a novel exposing communist influence within the American media. As importantly, they exposed how liberal media moguls pervert reality as much by what they don’t cover as what they do – "spiking” stories.

The real media revolution really began in 1987 when the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) eliminated the "Fairness Doctrine.” For the first time since 1949, radio stations could feature editorial content in their normal programming. On August 1, 1988, Rush Limbaugh launched his radio show. Now all Americans finally had access to non-liberal perspectives.

The liberal media fought back. Talk radio hosts and news reporters were denied press credentials to cover Congress until the Republicans took over the House in January 1995. Even though credentialed, talk radio was still shunned. The liberal media elite branded it unprofessional and said it trafficked in conspiracy theories.

Starting in May 1995 with Netscape, the Internet devastated the liberal media citadels. Website news began to supplant broadcast and print media. Social media, along with internet access on mobile devices in 2004, ignited an historic information revolution.

Conservative voices were unleashed by these upheavals. Liberal media elites could no longer "spike” stories or present their bias unchallenged. Even their own audience favored getting their news from social media and shows on Comedy Central. The media establishment sped its own demise by succumbing to fake news from its reporters like Jayson Blair and Dan Rather, and trafficking in false news like "hands-up don’t shoot’ and "a video caused the Benghazi attack.”

All the elements of a liberal media cataclysm were in place. Trump’s blunt talk and his supporters’ contempt for the media brought the status quo crashing down.

Nore than any other politician today, Trump understands that he can render the media irrelevant. Pew Research and other studies show that 62 percent of Americans now get all or part of their news from social media. Facebook posts 510,000 comments and 136,000 photos per minute. Nearly 2.5 million emails are sent every second. Fifty percent of Millennials check out Facebook when they first wake-up.

Trump does not need to have his message filtered and interpreted by Democrat operatives posing as journalists. Chris Matthews and George Stephanopoulos were Democrat flacks long before they took on the trapping of journalists. Dozens of reporters and "on-air talent” are married to Obama Administration officials. Trump’s response is to go over and around them.

Even President-Elect Trump currently has over 50 million Facebook and Twitter followers. Millions of Trump supporters repost or retweet his quotes on countless social media pages. Some 128 million Americans posted or liked Trump content on Facebook during the campaign. No one has ever been so pervasive in communicating and mobilizing.

Mr. Trump is the master of this new media reality. He understands that 140 characters on Twitter or a pithy comment or compelling image on Facebook shapes the media cycle. This is all before he becomes President, with all its additional resources and reach.

Liberal media in the Trump era is fast becoming as credible and relevant as horoscopes.

Hillary bribed GOP Establishment

WikiLeaks: Hillary Clinton Bribed Republicans to Influence Election

By Douglas V. Gibbs —— Bio and Archives January 20, 2017

Never mind the Russians. It was Hillary Clinton who was actually trying to sabotage the 2016 Presidential Election, according to a WikiLeaks release.
The information released shows that the Hillary Clinton campaign staffers bribed six Republicans to "destroy Trump”.
The evidence includes an email from John Podesta to Huma Abedin discussing diverting Clinton campaign funds to various Republicans who were secretly on the Clinton payroll.

Conservativedailypost.com reports:

The email, sent in July of this year, describes how funds were being diverted from Clinton’s campaign to the Super PACS of Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, and John Kasich.
According to the email: "JB, CF, and JK PACS will be noticeably silent for the rest of the campaign. Each will receive a significant allowance from advertising budget. HRC is in the loop and has talked to all three personally. Eyes only.”
This email was dated days before Speaker of the House Paul Ryan withdrew the invitation to Donald Trump to speak at an event in Wisconsin. Though not a "smoking gun”, it seems that Ryan was in on the dirty deed, as well.
"Other emails hint at the money being moved to Republican elected officials in the House and Senate. For instance FEC reports shows that two large donations from PACS and private sources in early October went to John McCain right after he publicly criticized Trump.”
Senator Lindsay Graham, another outspoken critic of Donald Trump and briefly candidate for President from July to December also, it seems, received help from the Clintons. An email that simply states, "Cleared the road for him in 2020,” could mean that there will be no strong or supported Democrat in the South Carolina Senate race when Graham is up for re-election.
As with McCain, Graham has publicly called for a look into the alleged Russian influence in the 2016 election.

All of the members of the GOP in cahoots with the Clintons will never, likely, be fully known
While there is no surprise that Hillary Clinton would act criminally, and in fact treasonously, during the election (a private email server, I am sure, is only the tip of the overall iceberg), the real disappointment is that the representatives involved also acted in such a deplorable manner, and did not say anything about the illegal shenanigans.
This is an example why there are folks out there who believe there is no difference between the political parties, and that in reality it is all about protecting each other’s grasp on political power.
This is also an example of why Trump was so successful during the 2016 Presidential Campaign. People, or at least Trump’s supporters, know this kind of stuff goes on, and they wanted an outsider to go in and drain the swamp in "both” parties.
All of the members of the GOP in cahoots with the Clintons will never, likely, be fully known. In fact, the number may be incredibly high. We know from Trevor Loudon’s film and book, "Enemies Within”, that socialism and communism has a firm hold of our government as well, with over 100 members of Congress having ties to either the Democratic Socialists of America or Communist Party USA. . . and that doesn’t even get into the ones with Muslim Brotherhood connections.
The reality is, what we see through this WikiLeaks report is that the ability to sell one’s soul for power is non-partisan, and crosses party lines.

BOYCOTTING THE INAUGURATION

William Been

It seems there is excessive concern about the significance of 66 Democrats boycotting the inauguration. Although various forces have made Progressivism more acceptable in recent years, it must be remembered that there is only one Progressive group of consequence in the US government and that is the Progressive Caucus in the House of Representatives.

All members of the Progressive Caucus are Democrats! As a group, they harbor virtually every radical group operating today including Marxists, Socialists, Communists, Islamists, Globalists, and anyone else who is anti-American based upon our traditions and heritage. It is the Progressive arm of the Democrat Party that is anti-American to the extent of boycotting one of our most sacred traditions.

Using Mike Gallagher’s listing on his website of those boycotting, it is clear that 43 of the 66 boycotters are members of the Progressive Caucus with another 4-5 of the 66 having been Progressive Caucus members in the past

Frankly, I think it is great that these anti-American bigots are boycotting for all Americans to see and appreciate the threat associated with their anti-American ideology. These people and their ideology must be defeated for American freedom and liberty to flourish in the future.

We have been given one more chance to rescue our country with the election of Donald Trump. We must never waiver in our support of President Trump as he faces challenges where every endeavor will meet with resistance unlike anything we have seen since the election of Abraham Lincoln.

We must stand united behind President Trump as the Progressive leftists and their anti-American allies including the Soros funded protest groups work to destroy the freedoms and liberty that is the trademark of America. We must never waiver as hard days are ahead as the challenges to making America great again will be fierce and uncompromising in many respects.

We must also, each of us who is willing, work to restore the Judeo-Christian beliefs and values that provided the framework for our Founders who gave us the greatest country in world history.

CNN Dreams of an Inauguration Day Massacre

Timothy Birdnow

The Left has become increasingly unhinged over the eledction of Donald Trump, and CNN has been a particularly rabid Trumpophobe. But now they have crossed a very real line.

My old  comrad at American Daily Review, Warner Todd Houston, tells the story:

"On the Wednesday, January 18 broadcast of CNN’s The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer aired a segment with a chyron featuring the headline "Developing Now.” During that "developing” segment, Blitzer and correspondent Brian Todd discussed what would happen if the unthinkable occurred on January 20.

Blitzer introduced the segment, saying, "What if an incoming president and his immediate successors were wiped out on day one?” and from there, CNN contributor Brian Todd took over to outline the line of succession if an attack blew up the inaugural dais, killing both Trump and Pence.

The upshot was that in the case of both heads of state being killed, the Secretary of State would take over. Currently that man is Secretary of State John Kerry, But in case some objected because his office would also end as of noon on Inauguration Day, then it would be the Speaker of the House — Republican Paul Ryan — or even Obama’s Under Secretary for Political Affairs Tom Shannon.

The report also noted that the designated survivor appointed by the Obama administration could also become president in the case of a disaster. So, in CNN’s analysis, most of the people who would take over in the worst-case scenario would keep the Obama administration in power, at least indirectly."

End excerpt.

So now CNN is dreaming of a massacre of the incoming Administration and of Congress so Obama can stay in power!

These people have lost their minds!

Remember when Donald Trump joked about Russia finding Hillary's e-mails and the media had a conniption? Or going back much further, remember when Sarah Palin was blamed for the shooting of Gabby Giffords for putting a target on her as a targeted seat the GOP wanted to win? Remember when Bill Clinton blaemd Rush Limbaugh for causing the Oklahoma City bombing by his rhetoric? Funny how the liberals in the media exempt themselves from blame where their heart's desires are involved.

In the Garden of the Knowlege of Good and Evil

Timothy Birdnow

In a very good article at American Thinker Robert Arvay argues that "transgendered" are no such thing and that we should stop calling them that. He is right.

What defines a person's sex? Well, the Left has insidiously changed the terminology from sex to gender, which used to be a function of language; you used gender to distinguish between the sexes. In the usual deconstructive technique employed by liberals, sex has morphed into "gender" which is "a social construct" rather than a fact of life, a reality which we must deal with whether we like it or not. Liberals, in their never-ending quest ot be gods, have subtly changed the words to confuse the average person, who will not think of it. This is the old technique employed by leftists for generations.

Remember Orwell's 1984? The government was in the process of creating and imposing "Newspeak" which was a fundamentally altered language, one that made it impossible to even think beyond the limits the State imposed. Orwell rightly saw the direction that Fasco-Marxism was heading and warned against it as best he could. He understood that controlling language was the way to control thought.

And the liberal/left has been doing this for decades. We don't have homosexual pseudo-marriage, but rather "marriage equality". We don't have womb-ripping but rather "abortion rights" or "the right to choose". Racial preferences for minorities are "affirmative action". Following traditional norms of behavior morph into "white privilege" or "microaggressions". Reading classic Western literature becomes "cultural imperialism". The list goes on and on.

And this whole "gender" issue is a prime example. The term for men (or women, a far smaller group) who dress and act like the opposite sex is transvestite. That had a pejorative connotation, so the left, cameleon-like as always, have now morphed this into "transgendered" and have confused this with "transsexual". Often transsexual does not mean a person who actually had their genitalia modified through surgery, but rather just plain old transvestism. It is not.

That is why I am loathe to use the term transsexual. Even when the person has been snipped, it still is a misuse of terminology, an inaccuracy that should not be permitted. You still have a person who has y chromosomes. You still have a person without a working uterus. You may have artificially constructed breasts and an opening where the scrotum once resided, but that does not make a man a woman. And women "transsexuals" are even less so, with an enlarged clitoris masquerading as a penis.

These are not true transsexuals but rather simply mutilated men and women.

And that does not even take into account the experiential and psychological aspects of flipped sexuality. You can say you are a girl all you wish but you did not have the experiences of being a little girl. It just isn't part of you.

So Chelsea Manning (and I'll call him that since he can choose whatever name he wishes) is not a woman but a man, a dude tricked out to look like a woman. I will not call him "her". Nor showuld any of the rest of us.

Until a way can be found to change the chromosomes, to make the body actually change into a viable, truly female (or male) form, and to change the mental and psychological aspects of a person, we cannot say we have sex change but rather a masquerade, and a poor one at that.

Why does the left do this? Sexual identity is a fundamental part of who we are, and by dissolving it, by breaking it down, we lose sight of everything. Family just isn't family without the specific sexual roles we play. Our very concept of social structure is broken. This is the same reason why the liberals sought to promote homosex7ual marriages, even though there was hardly a pressing societal need for such (as homosexuals make up a scant 3% of the population).
Gay Marriage" (and there's a word that has been coopted) helped to break the cohesion of society. They knew this would happen and eagerly sought it. Karl Marx called for the dissolution of the family, and so did Lenin, and this is just another tool to bludgeon the most ancient social unit. to break it so the State may take the job on and really promote the kind of social change the leftists have always dreamed about. Before the big push for homosexual marriage we had the sexual revolution and the rise of Feminism, which was not in any way about giving women a fair shake but about breaking traditional social norms and sexual roles. Men and women became far more antagonistic when the Left stoked massive grievances in women. Znc And the sexual revolution turned men and women from seeking true intimacy and marriage into cheap, tawdry attempts at physical gratification without the emotional strings. It was all aimed at destroying the family.

Destroying God also. He made the family and to rid ourselves of this pesky Creator we had to reject everything He ordained. This is, in the end, the revolution against the Almighty, the same evil enterprise that started with Lucifer.

"Transgenderism" is so clearly a rebellion against God that there really is no way anyone can argue against the claim. It is a defication of Man, a clear violation of the First Commandment which says "Thou shalt not have Strange Gods Before Me".

So, if we accept the new terminology we accept the rebellion. Rebellion against Sith empires or Nazis is noble, but rebellion against God is not only ignoble it is batshit crazy. God is the one who ordained this stuff, and He so ordained it that our refusal to accept reality eventually means immense suffering because we are going against the way the Universe works. Is it somehow unfair we cannot fly without a mechanical aid? We should be able to jump off the edge of the Grand Canyon and expect to fly! Nobody complains when someone goes "splat" when they do something this crazy, but they do complain when they aren't allowed to wish themselves to be the opposite sex.

We live in an era of horrendous self-delusion. It's time we start calling this nonsense out.

NC Wind Farm a Threat to National Security

Timothy Birdnow

A giant wind farm in Norch Carolina poses a national security risk and should be stopped, according to a letter sent to the incoming Homeland Security Director.

According to the North Carolina Journal

"North Carolina’s legislative leaders want the incoming Trump administration to consider shutting down the $400 million, 104-turbine Amazon Wind Farm project under construction near Elizabeth City because, they say, the massive turbines would interfere with a nearby radar facility run by the military.

The request came in a letter to retired Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, who is Trump’s nominee for secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The Associated Press first wrote about the letter Friday.

The sophisticated radar receiver plays a key role in the military’s tracking of aircraft and ships suspected of transporting illegal drugs to the U.S.

End excerpt.

The giant wind turbine needs to be at least 28 miles away from the radar to avoid interfering with it.

So on top of slicing and dicing birds this wonderful "clean" technology is a danger to our national security. Wonderful.

The Russia Dossier Fake News

This from Americans for Limited Government:

http://netrightdaily.com/2017/01/know-buzzfeed-published-memo-trump-russia-fabricated/

By Robert Romano

Was President-elect Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen in Prague in late Aug. 2016, as a now-infamous intelligence dossier charging Trump is a Russian agent published by Buzzfeed on Jan. 10 asserts?

The memos, authored by former MI6 operative Christopher Steele, alleged Cohen was in Prague in late summer communicating very specifically with Russian agents about dealing with the political fallout of the alleged ongoing conspiracy between Trump and Moscow to put Democratic emails on Wikileaks.

The dossier stated, "the timing of the visit was either in the last week of August or the first week of September."

There's only one problem.

Cohen has since emphatically denied the allegations, stating he was actually with his son at the University of Southern California with his son's baseball coach during that time. The Atlantic confirmed Cohen was on campus on Aug. 29 via a University baseball source. For the month of September, Cohen says he was in New York.

In fact, Cohen says that he has never visited Prague or the Czech Republic in his life, touting his passport as evidence.

Let's give Cohen the benefit of the doubt. After all, why would he lie about his passport, and just how could he have been in two places at once?

If Cohen was not in Prague, verifiably, then the intelligence operative who spun this lie appears to have been using what he thought were Cohen's travel records — now we're told there was some other Michael Cohen who had traveled to Prague — to make the assertion and filling in the blanks with garbage. Suddenly the producer of the dossier's credibility is absolutely called into question.

Therefore, it also means that not only was Trump's lawyer not in Prague, he could not have been there discussing how to mop up the fallout of Trump supposedly working with the Kremlin on putting Democratic emails on Wikileaks, because no such conversation could have possibly taken place.

Consider the details of what Cohen was alleged to have discussed with Russian officials in Prague. The purpose of the meeting was to, per the dossier, "in order to clean up the mess left behind by western media revelations of Trump ex-campaign manager [Paul] Manafort's corrupt relationship with the former pro-Russian [Viktor] Yanukovych regime in Ukraine and Trump foreign policy advisor, Carter Page's secret meetings in Moscow with senior regime figures in July 2016" where the Trump campaign supposedly coordinated with Moscow to put the Democratic emails on Wikileaks.

And, it was to "cover up and damage limitation operation in the attempt to prevent the full details of Trump's relationship with Russia being exposed" and the "overall objective had been to 'to sweep it all under the carpet and make sure no connections could be fully established or proven'".

Except, he was not in Prague, so those conversations never actually happened. So, how did the specifics of a conversation that never occurred appear in the dossier? There is only one possible explanation: It was made up, either by the source(s) the dossier's author used, or the author himself, who apparently has disappeared, fearing for his safety.

This forces us, as rational human beings, to disregard the source entirely. None of the claims of sedition are verifiably true based on available facts, and much of it is verifiably false. It's bad intelligence.

The Cohen episode was a fatal mistake by Steele. It proves the memos on Cohen were fabricated, calling into question the rest of the work product, which appears as attempts to spin travel records of Trump personnel, such as Cohen, but also Carter Page, who supposedly orchestrated the entire conspiracy with the Kremlin to put the emails on Wikileaks while on a trip to Moscow, and Paul Manafort due to his prior dealings in Ukraine.

If Cohen being in Prague having discussions was fabricated, then it is likely Page and Manafort were subjected to similar libels by the dossier, which although it had been commissioned by the Democrats, resulted in national security investigations into both.

On Sept. 23, Yahoo! News chief investigative correspondent Michael Isikoff reported Page was under investigation by U.S. intelligence officials for supposed Russian ties, which led to his subsequent resignation from the campaign. And an FBI inquiry was also launched into one-time Trump campaign manger and chairman Paul Manafort, announced by NBC News on Nov. 1 over supposed Russian ties, a week before the election. Manafort had stepped down from the campaign after reporting from the New York Times in August over allegedly receiving kickbacks from former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

The FBI even approached the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court for a warrant to begin surveillance of top Trump campaign officials suspected of contacting Russian agents.

All because of the now-discredited dossier.

The fact that is was commissioned by Trump's GOP rivals and then by the Democrats (reason enough to doubt it), and referenced by Harry Reid in a letter to the FBI, and then by John McCain to the FBI, resulting in politically charged inquiries, means that this whole thing has spun completely out of control. This is an abuse of presidential power against political opponents in the U.S. once thought impossible.

That it was then given to CNN by the Obama administration, which had to know of the dossier's falsehoods, to decapitate Trump on the way into office by portraying him as a Russian agent, means that it is being used politically, tainting all of the national security investigations as political as well, a very terrifying conclusion to come to. It was foiled only by Buzzfeed's publication of the memos, which gave Trump the ability to refute the charges.

The real problem is how Trump should clean up this mess after he gets sworn in on Jan. 20? Heads should roll to prevent intelligence from ever again being used to take out political opponents.

If Obama Pardons Hillary

Jack Kemp

I suspect Obama, if he pardons Hillary, will do it on Friday morning to kind of hide it from the public. Even if it is made public, it would steal some of the spotlight from Trump on Inauguration Day. Meanwhile, Hillary sits home and sweats.

Then again, Obama probably won't pardon Bill Clinton, which would not bother Hillary much.

UnManning Getting Out

Jack Kemp forwards this:

WASHINGTON, Jan 17 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Tuesday commuted the prison sentence of Chelsea Manning, the former U.S. military intelligence analyst who is serving 35 years in prison for passing classified files to WikiLeaks, the White House said.
Manning, formerly known as U.S. Army Private First Class Bradley Manning, was born male but revealed after being convicted of espionage that she identifies as a woman.
She accepted responsibility for leaking the material, has said she was confronting gender dysphoria at the time of the leaks while deployed in Iraq.
