Yesterday, Special Counsel Robert Mueller finally produced some results after what seems like eons of dithering. You'll remember he was supposed to be delving into the alleged "collusion" between the Trump For President campaign and (gasp) Russia. Specifically,

in his order appointing Mueller as special counsel (Order No. 3915-2017), Rosenstein directed him to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump.”

the law (28 CFR 600) grants legal authority to appoint a special counsel to investigate crimes. Only crimes. He has limited jurisdiction. . . . To put it plainly, Mueller is tasked with finding a crime that does not exist in the law. It is a legal impossibility. He is being asked to do something that is manifestly unattainable.

(T)he indictments of Paul Manafort and his business associate, Rick Gates, were unsealed Monday morning. It turns out the charges are, basically, a tax fraud case. The two men stand accused of hiding their income from their lobbying work for Ukraine in order to avoid paying taxes, then lying about it. That’s it.

The 31-page indictment makes no mention of Trump or Russia or "collusion.” The media seemed as dejected as a kid who wakes up on Christmas morning, only to find there are no presents under the tree. Gee whiz.

The truth is, it should have come as no surprise to anyone, much less the media, that Manafort was in legal jeopardy for his business dealings. The FBI raided his home over the summer. It was later learned that the FBI wiretapped his conversations as far back as 2014. And it was widely reported that Manafort had been told by Mueller’s team that he would be criminally charged.

It is against the law for the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to funnel millions of dollars to a British spy and to Russian sources in order to obtain the infamous and discredited Trump "dossier.” The Federal Election Campaign Act (52 USC 30101) prohibits foreign nationals and governments from giving or receiving money in U.S. campaigns. It also prohibits the filing of false or misleading campaign reports to hide the true purpose of the money (52 USC 30121). This is what Clinton and the DNC appear to have done.

Most often the penalty for violating this law is a fine, but in egregious cases, like this one, criminal prosecutions have been sought and convictions obtained. In this sense, it could be said that Hillary Clinton is the one who was conspiring with the Russians by breaking campaign finance laws with impunity.

But that’s not all. Damning new evidence appears to show that Clinton used her office as Secretary of State to confer benefits to Russia in exchange for millions of dollars in donations to her foundation and cash to her husband. Secret recordings, intercepted emails, financial records, and eyewitness accounts allegedly show that Russian nuclear officials enriched the Clintons at the very time Hillary presided over a governing body which unanimously approved the sale of one-fifth of America’s uranium supply to Russia.

If this proves to be a corrupt "pay-to-play” scheme, it would constitute a myriad of crimes, including bribery (18 USC 201-b), mail fraud (18 USC 1341), and wire fraud (18 USC 1343). It might also qualify for racketeering charges (18 USC 1961-1968), if her foundation is determined to have been used as a criminal enterprise.

Despite all the incriminating evidence, Clinton has managed to avoid being pursued by a special counsel. Trump, on the other hand, is being chased by Robert Mueller and his team, notwithstanding a dearth of evidence.

A City University of New York sociology professor reportedly said in a tweetstorm last week that "the white-nuclear family” promotes racism, prompting a backlash on social media.

Jessie Daniels, described as an expert on "the Internet manifestations of racism” on her CUNY page, infuriated social media users after reportedly saying that white families promote racism by default.

The professor began her argument saying she learned that "the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy,” adding that that families "reproducing white children” are "part of the problem” as they facilitate white supremacy in the country,Campus Reform reported.

She reportedly tweeted: "I mean, if you’re a white person who says they’re engaged in dismantling white supremacy but … you’re forming a white family (and) reproducing white children that ‘you want the best for’ – how is that helping [and] not part of the problem?"

She reportedly ended her arguement suggesting that "white people” should confront their racism and stop perpetuating inequality by leaving their homes for their children.

The American media is a degenerate, corrupt, vile institution and one cannot accept their word for it if they claim it is a sunny day outside. Everything the media does has an ulterior motive. So I am skeptical of the claims that we are in an opiod epidemic, as they so hysterically claim.

Oh, I dons't doubt that use of heroine and perhaps even prescription painkillers has risen. Why wouldn't it, when the Obama Administration has been all about restoring the '60's drug culture. Obama was a pothead and a coke snorter, and he had no problem with illegal drug use. It should be pointed out that while we see this rise in opioid use we have seen the legalization of marijuana in many states. Is that a coincidence? I rather doubt it. more...

Liberals are by nature reality challenged, but they have now lost all touch with the meaning of is. Like it or not Hillary LOST. America is not a nation that elects presidents based on popular vote (indeed, that is nigh unto impossible given the fog of electoral war) and the country works on a state by state basis, with the electoral college being the place where the votes are held. Trump would have campaigned differently had it been necessary to win the popular vote, and in fact we really don't know if Hillary actually won that vote anyway. As has wrongly been attributed to Joseph Stalin "it's not who wins the vote but who counts it" that matters.

Be that as it may, the liberals simply refuse to accept reality. If someone says he is Napoleon Bonapart we send the men in white coats to take him away. If Johb Lewis says that Hillary is president we elect him to Congress...

No, apparently, the charges might — emphasis on might since nobody knows — relate to financial transactions dating back to 2012 and 2013, to $17 million of loans dating back to former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s time as a political consultant in Ukraine. Again, we don’t know. We’re only speculating based on the breathless reporting from CNN, Buzzfeed and others. But if that’s true, one has to ask. What about the 2016 election? What about the emails? Wikileaks? Collusion? No? The fact that Mueller had to go back into time to find something else vaguely related to Russia — well, Ukraine does share a border with Russia, right? — should tell the establishment in Washington, D.C. what the rest of the political world already knows. That after a year of an FBI investigation and apparent surveillance by the former Obama administration of the Trump campaign and transition, carried through into the administration, there never was anything to the story about the Trump campaign coordinating any hack of the Democrats by Russia. You can see their alibi shaping up, too. You see, Manafort had an ongoing investigation into his dealings in Ukraine dating back a decade when Trump hired him—which apparently wasn’t going anywhere—and then suddenly in 2016 it heated up again. Based on what new evidence, we wonder, besides the fact that Manafort was hired by Trump and subsequently appeared in the now-discredited Christopher Steele dossier? What you have instead is a runaway special counsel in Mueller, whose apparent job was never to investigate a crime, but to find a crime — any crime would do — that could be pinned on former Trump campaign officials including Manafort. That alone violates the spirit of the special counsel statute, who is only supposed to be appointed to do with a crime. Instead, as the National Review’s Andrew McCarthy has repeatedly noted, Mueller’s job was to head up the counterintelligence investigation into Trump world after former FBI Director James Comey was fired. Who knows what other types of charges Mueller might find? But to the extent that they generally have little to nothing to do with the original allegations outlined in DNC funded reports by bothCrowdstrike — outlining the supposed hack — and Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele— outlining the supposed collusion — it is time for the Justice Department, Congress and everyone else inside the Beltway to question what the heck we even have a special counsel for. Such a case as outlined by Buzzfeed and others shaping up against Manafort, if it has any merit at all, could have been handled by a regular U.S. Attorney. Since it reportedly deals with financial transactions dating back to 2012 and 2013, it does not even fit into the scope of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ original recusal, which took him off looking into anything related to the 2016 campaign. Which takes us back full circle. If there are no charges forthcoming to do with conduct in the election, hacks in the election, collusion in the election and other nonsense, that should be the end of Mueller’s investigation. This is just a witch hunt to hurt people in Trump’s orbit, and having been exposed as a Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC-funded fraud, is now going back in time to find something, anything to charge somebody. We’ll know soon what these allegations being brought by Mueller have to do with. But to the extent they have nothing to do with Russia hacking or Trump collusion, the pressure will mount for Mueller to resign. There was never probable cause for the investigation in the first place, just a political hit job by Clinton and company. The same immigration points the President won the election on. Division Mof the bill is titled "Department of Homeland Security Border Infrastructure Construction Appropriation Act.” In it, $1.53 billionis appropriatedfor three sections of border fencing along Texas and California. There is also another $38 million appropriated for planning more border wall construction. It is not the full amount for the wall, but it funds part of the wall and Sanctuary cities are also defunded. Division C is titled "Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations.” Section 554 of Division C states, "None of the funds made available by this Act under the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program may be used in contravention of section 642 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.” Division H is titled "Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.” Section 427 of division H states, "None of the funds made available by this Act maybe used in contravention of section 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1373(a)).” Thisis a great start, it builds the wall and goes after a major problem attracting illegal immigrants and havens for illegal drug smuggling, but why does it seem like theRepublican leadership is waiving the white flag? For some unknown reason, two Republicans inleadership hinted at caving to liberal demands on immigration issues last week, despite controlling the House, Senate, and Presidency. Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) continued his push for amnesty. Recent reportsfrom a meeting with House conservatives revealed Ryan plans to include legislation legalizing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in the upcoming spending deal. DACA is the program that allows illegal immigrants brought here as "children” to stay. But gone is mention of the wall and defunding sanctuary cities. Nor is there any mention of including the RAISE Act that would end chain migration and move to a merit-based system. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Tex.) took E-verify off the negotiating table in a recent interview according to Politico. E-verify is the tool used to verify if someone is legally eligible to work in the country when applying for a job. Naturally, Democrats don’t want that because it will reduce the incentive for illegal immigrants to come here. Reduce, not eliminate. Why would the Cornyn give away one of the best tools to fight illegal immigration? By putting DACA into a spending deal without getting at least the RAISE Act, border wall, and defunding of sanctuary cities the GOP leadership is setting themselves up for failure. By not putting E-verify in a spending deal, leadership is encouraging more illegal immigration. They are turning the upcoming spending vote into a vote on Amnesty. How does the Speaker think this is going to play out in the primaries? Amnesty was passed before Obamacare repeal, tax reform, and border security. The ads write themselves. The continual pushfor amnesty policies while failing to do anything else is showing the Republican base where the loyalty of GOP leadership lies. Americans for Limited Government Vice President of Policy Robert Romano stated, "By sticking DACA amnesty on the budget, it makes it even more difficult for House Republicans to vote for, limiting what can be leveraged off of DACA, which bare minimum, should include passing the RAISE Act eliminating chain migration, defunding sanctuary cities to are allowing heroin to pour onto America’s streets, building the wall and beefing up the Border Patrol. DACA is the leverage, not the deal.” Many fiscal conservatives went out on a limb to pass the omnibus spending bill. Putting amnesty in there would betray their trust and force them to vote against it. Republican leadership must quit reading the 2012 RNC autopsy that recommended an amnesty approach in GOP legislation. It is the most worthless, inaccurate document ever produced by the RNC. President Trump did everything contrary to the autopsy report and won states the GOP had given upon. The voters sent you a clear message by sending President Trump to the White House and not one of the other amnesty candidates. You should listen to them. U.S. drinks company Constellation Brands has agreed to buy a near 10 percent stake in Canopy Growth Corporation, the world's largest publicly traded cannabis company.
Constellation, a beer distributor that owns Corona, is reportedly planning to work with the grower to develop, market and sell cannabis-infused beverages.

The agreement, confirmed in a press release Monday, is $245 million Canadian dollars ($191 million) in exchange for a 9.9 percent stake in the Canopy Growth Corporation.

Remember a few years ago when John Kerry tried to throw out the first pitch in some MLB game or other, and bounced it in? Betcha this little tyke does better! Especially since she comes from a baseball-crazy family ("Not that there's anything wrong with that," as they'd have said on Seinfeld).

3D printing is especially good for situations like this, where a kid WOULD outgrow a prosthesis quickly, but a printed one costs so comparatively little, it's feasible to create one for a kid. That should be a slap in the face for people who denigrate the technology.

Y'know, gang, the more I read about the crazy Left's plan to host get-togethers next Election Day to shout helplessly at the sky (I read that the one in Boston has been canceled "due to circumstances beyond our control," make of that what you will), the more I think those of us on the Right who are either delighted that Mr. Trump won, or are at least happy that Hillary lost, should do something similar ourselves.

I'm aware that in our "circle" there are those who don't, or can't, drink, so we can't plan "drink-in's" at the local watering hole (although those of us who can and do hoist a glass on occasion can, of course, include this ritual as part of whatever we decide to do).

Perhaps we should gather under the sky (assuming it isn't raining), raise a triumphant fist and give a happy "Yes, we did," (as a parody of Hussein Obama's "Yes, we can") cheer as we smile at each other (no helplessness on OUR faces, surely!), followed by perhaps some hugging -- again of the "we won" type, adding strength to strength, as opposed to the way the Left celebrates its collective weakness.

And THEN go in and have a drink. And please, not Bud Light or Corona! Make it something of the "puts hair on your chest" variety, for these are times of strength, my friends; times to celebrate strength in whatever form it comes. For the wine drinkers, Cabernet, Malbec or Zinfandel, not Chardonnay (leave that for Hillary to drown her sorrows in, by all means!) -- and others of the genre. Leave the Beaujolais for the wimps, the Rose', the Pinot Grigiot. Port, maybe; sherry, no.

Head, you whisky drinkers, for the Bourbon, the Rye, the Irish, the Scotch (particularly the Laphroiag if you are a world champion; shun the Teacher's). Leave the Windsor Canadian for the losers.

We are the winners, after all! And if you can't drink, make sure your watering hole has great chips and salsa! (And jalapenos, David!)

Personally, I usually found Piers to be a self-absorbed clod (or "clot," as the Brits say), especially when he was a judge on "America's Got Talent," where he proved he didn't know all that much about talent (the fact that on the infrequent occasions when I watch the show, I find Howard Stern superior in the role to Piers says something).

But once he went back home to the obviously more congenial air of the U.K., Piers seems to have wised up. And this article shows him to be a pretty good judge of political character. He certainly skewers the liberals and their upcoming howl session!

A commenter on Amer. Thinker, speculating about 2020 Democratic candidates said that he hoped Sen. Al Franken and Green Party candidate Jill Stein would run together on the FRANKEN/STEIN ticket!
