In a recycling of Teresa Heinz Kerry's 2004 snide remark about Laura Bush, saying that Mrs. Bush "didn't have a real job," Democrat strategist Hilary Rosen went on national cable television to insult Mrs. Romney who stayed at home and raised her five children. More details include:
Ann Romney joined Twitter on Wednesday night after Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen said on CNN that Romney "has never actually worked a day in her life."
Speaking on Anderson Cooper 360, Rosen said that it didn't make much sense for presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney to look to Ann for advice on women's issues because she was out of touch with the problems faced by most women in America.
"His wife has actually never worked a day in her life," she said. "She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of women in this country are facing."
Within minutes of Rosen's comments, Ann Romney joined Twitter, and as of late Wednesday night had tweeted out only one post: "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work."
END OF QUOTE
I've written about the original Teresa Heinz Kerry (believe me, if her middle name - and family fortune - wasn't "Heinz," her last name wouldn't be "Kerry") remark repeatedly. Once, a liberal woman in a writing class called me a throwback to an earlier time. It now appears that this "throwback" was accurately describing the liberal war against conservative women and was prescient to be able to see that liberals were not about to give up this bilious line of attack against women who chose to "only" work in the home, as if that isn't a full-time job. My only regret is that my writing course ended too soon to include these current vile remarks from the Democrat strategist and feminazi Hilary Rosen in my assignment(s).
I recall years ago, during the Bush 43 Presidency, going on an organized one day bus tour with a group of middle class New Yorkers, most of whom were Democrats. It was a quiet day in the country where we stopped for lunch at some prearranged restaurant. All of the sudden, in the middle of the meal, a woman in her 50s or 60s yelled out loud how much she hated Laura Bush. The room went silent as this shocked the group of mainstream Democrat voters who had differences with Laura Bush’s husband but bore her no ill will.
Well, Democrat (and Republican) voters, get used to it. The deranged woman yelling at the restaurant is the New Normal for the Democrat Party. Hopefully she and Hilary Rosen will have an opportunity to yell over their meals about First Lady Ann Romney for years to come.
