More good news! The Supreme Court has struck down a draconian firearms law in New York.
The New York law, which restricted concealed carry in the state and only allowed gun licensing for people engaged in hunting, does not pass the muster of Constitutionality, according to a majority of Justices.
From the NPR article:
The court's decision is the most sweeping to date, and will shake up gun regulation across the country, making it far more difficult to defend rules that limit guns in public places.
Writing for the court majority, Justice Clarence Thomas said that "the constitutional right to bear arms in public for self defense is not a second class right subject to an entirely different body of rules," and just as the First Amendment doesn't allow the banning of unpopular speech, the Second Amendment is not limited to people who can demonstrate a special need to carry a gun in public.
Finally, SCOTUS is returning to actually observe the Constitution and not simply apply it's own opinions to the law.God bless the Conservative majority on the Court - and God bless Donald Trump for appointing the three members who made this possible.
This is exactly why it was important for him to win in 2020, and why it will be doubly important to win the next election.

It may be dead in the water already thanks to this. We must hope that is the case.
I haven't read the provisions of that law yet. I'm sure it violates the right to keep and bear arms, and perhaps a few other core rights to boot.

Remember when the Pink Sisters were put on a terrorist watch list? A bunch of nuns put on a list of suspected domestic terrorists by the Obama Administration! We're all going to wind up there if this goes forward. And SWAT teams will be raiding our homes in the wee hours to see if we have slingshots or bb guns.
