Russia has invaded the Ukraine.
This could be a very, very bad thing.
It's time for prayers.

Two oblasts of Ukraine declared themselves independent republics in 2014 when the democratically elected government of Ukraine was overthrown. Russian government on Monday voted to recognize those independent republics under the United Nations principle of the "Right to Self Determination†which is part of the UN Charter. This is the same thing that the US did for Kosovo when it declared independence from Serbia in 2008.
Russia agreed to provide military assistance to the newly formed republics, just as the US provided military assistance to Kosovo in the form of a massive bombing campaign. The Russian assistance is much more benign than was US assistance in Kosovo, at least so far.
Russia has not "annexed†the two republics, does not claim them as being part of Russia or of the Russian Federation, and is not "occupying†them. They have troops in those two republics at the invitation of the two republics, just as they have troops in Syria.

No, no invasion there.
I'm sorry but you are splitting hairs. This is little different from what Hitler did to Czechoslovakia.
It is not "Biden propaganda" if there are actual troops inside of a country. That is by any definition an invasion.
Do you think Mexico has the right to invade the Southwest because they were able to infiltrate a bunch of their citizens into the area?
I don't trust Biden or the New World Order types either, not one bit. But I also know Putin wants the old Tsarist sphere of influence back, and he operates exactly like this. He has done this, using Russian-speaking people to stir trouble in an area then cobble that part off for the "safety" of these people. Whether he openly annexes a country or not is immaterial; he holds them as puppet states.
I guess Vichy France was the government in second world war then?
Putin is in no way a good guy and this IS an invasion, whether you want to believe that or not.
As for the U.N. Charter, that is as worthless a thing as there is.
Bill, the Russians have been funding these rebels in eastern Ukraine since 2014, and this has been an obvious strategy. I really don't understand why you can't see this. It's an old policy. The Soviet Union never annexed Poland or Romania either, but they dominated those countries. There was nothing authentic or honest about those regions declaring independenc and bringing the Russians in. Nonse whatsoever. If you believe it's the case I have a really nice bridge in Brookly you may want to purchase.
I would add Yankovitch was a Communist who was overthrown by a popular revolution. You are defending the Bolsheviks here. And, like Joe Biden, there was massive vote fraud in his favor largely fomeneted by the Russians. And Yankovitch was implementing the "reforms" we are now getting here in the U.S. and the rest of the Western World.
If it was wrong for us to go into Kosovo (and I think it was) it is equally wrong to invade eastern Ukraine. This after having stolen the Crimea from them.
I guess maybe China should have sent troops to Portland to support the independence of the BLM activists there?

Russia's subsequent actions belie that idea.
If you know the history of Russia and the Ukraine you would know the Russians always owned Ukraine as a colony, and want it back. It is one of "the Russias".
This is a power grab. Putin wants control of the country to control the oil and gas they have as well as the grain. And he wants to use it to pipe Russian fuel to Europe.
And he doesn't want NATO so close.
Russian citizens are just a pretext.
