1 I've never figured that noses were palatable. Except for the tail of the chicken, where the feathers were pulled out, and which for years has been called "the Pope's nose." Darn if I know where that expression came from, but I've heard it all my life. And my wife always grabs it when we roast a chicken, and wolfs it down while I'm carving the bird.

3 It's due to the shape of it, which is similar to many Italian male's noses.
