A poll by the American Federation of Teachers, a large teacher's lobby organization whose president, Randi Weingarten, supports political indoctrination of school children, shows voters prefer the Republican Party on education issues. This should have considerable impact on the November elections.

Traditionally, the Democratic Party was viewed as the pro-education party because they have generally advocated more spending on education than the Republicans. However, spending is no longer the major issue in education, what goes on in the classroom is. And that's not good for the Democrats.
