Big Pharma Cash In On People's Misery Selling Drugs Which Don't Work

New research showing no clear evidence that serotonin levels or serotonin activity are responsible for depression.

What does it say about the hundreds of billions of dollars made by big pharma selling antidepressants which don't work.
Intuitively we knew they didn't work because people who take antidepressants aren't magically cured of their depression.
Like climate change where scientists can't actually tell us what the ideal global average temperature is, medical scientists can't point to an ideal measure of serotonin for a person.

One of the published side effects of the medications which enhance serotonin levels is "suicidal ideation." Meaning that if you take medication to cure depression you are warned that it may cause you to commit suicide. How weird is that?

Good point Bill. I read once a story about a guy - a pastor, in fact - who committed suicide after they increased his Prozak. It was clear then (this was a long time ago) that these drugs could make depression worse, not better.
