Word of Warning

Jim Church

Opponents of nuclear power seem to think every reactor is a Chernobyl waiting to happen, which is not even true of older Western designs let alone modern ones. But when the manufacturer of an electric vehicle warns you to keep it away from anything you value, it’s time to admit that all the boosterism about the coming transition to electric vehicles, from people who knew as much about economics as they did about engineering, is dangerous make-believe not just at the level of national economies and budgets but in the personal lives of well-meaning individuals.

1 Great article. I'm an old guy who maybe doesn't adapt to change well, but there's no way I would have bought an electric car even before this disaster. We had a shortage of electricity a couple winters ago in the central part of the state. It was 20 below, the wind wasn't blowing, and the solar panels were covered with snow -- and the electric company hadn't budgeted for enough natural gas. People were told to turn their thermostats down to 60. I'm sure any Tesla owners stayed home because they had to.

2 No doubt Dana.

If Biden gets his way with the "infrastructure" bill there won't be any gas powered cars built and we'll all be stuck with electric - and our electricity will not be available. We'll be penned like cattle in the cities.

3 And I fully believe that THAT'S exactly what he wants.

4 Me too Dana. I think that's been the goal all along.

If you ever read Well's pre-Moorlock days he wrote about that; the cities were huge, teeming, with the rich living on top and the poor in the underworld. BUT there was nobody at all in the countryside. They had penned everyone in like cattle. The country was only inhabited by machines which worked the land.
