Egypt charges huge amounts, like $700,000 for a ship to transit. Israel could undercut them. The competition and the safety factor of having an alternative canal would be good for the entire interconnected world.
In the 1960s, the US had a plan to dig an Israeli
based canal using multiple below ground nuclear bombs but it never came
into existence.
This fine Youtube video, linked below, details in 10 minutes the possible alternative "Suez Canal" of close to the same length that may be built in Israel. I spoke with someone I know who has studied environmental science and they don't believe underground nuclear explosions would be used in the possible construction of a new Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea canal.

Israel SHOULD build their own. It would prevent the closure of this important shipping lane should Muslim terrorists want to shut down world trade, or if Egypt should fall into the hands of extremists. And it would be a much more modern, and no doubt bigger canal, capable of moving more cargo.
This makes me think of the Genesis 22:17 "And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies," Control of this critical route would indeed be possessing the gate of their enemies.
It could also explain the reason for all of the Earth's armies gathering around Jerusalem in the Book of Revelations.

Yes, they should. But look for an attack on Israel by Egypt, though, if they do. Such a canal will be seen as an attack on Egypt's security -- much the same as Kaiser Wilhelm's building of a deep-water navy was seen as an attack on the British Empire in the early 20th Century. It was not meant as such, and an Israeli canal will not be meant as such, but that's the way things look to the other side.

And perhaps that is what triggers Final Conflict Dana?

I don't think THAT happens until all the Jews are inside Israel.

Perhaps not Dana but that may be coming more quickly than anybody realizes. The entire world seems to be becoming decidedly un-Jew friendly. I can see this happening inside a generation, frankly.
