That's exactly right; this means less to go around for everyone, and the African and other Third World countries are going to suffer from it. I don't know why the dimbulb Euro types can't understand that wealth is something created and not found, and that as a result once created it benefits everyone. Energy is the key to wealth creation. It's really quite simple, but the Environmentalists and the well-to-do socialists refuse to see that simple fact. Our getting poorer doesn't help them, it simply means they get even poorer. Parity is not and should not be the goal, but rather a rising tide for all.

Some African countries consider the EU’s planned carbon border levy to be "protectionistâ€. That was the upshot of a conference organised by the French government on Tuesday (23 March), which examined the challenges posed by the EU’s upcoming mechanism. EURACTIV France reports.
According to Youba Sokona, vice-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a carbon border adjustment mechanism would harm "countries with less financial and human capacity,†particularly those with low CO2 emissions.
