In a discussion on Facebook  about the covid masking/vaccine in Britain, one commenter left the following remark:

The science is the same. The education and the sense of community is different. Vax rate much higher. Also, they don't have as many "freedom" obsessed religious fanatics. They sent them over here and were overjoyed when they left the Empire.

Kenneth Walsh replies:

The vaccines don't seem to be working very well in the UK so I don't know why you mentioned them.

Mr. Sullivan responds:

The vaccines have GREATLY reduced complications and morbidity. This focus on masks is the result of uneducated medieval thinking. Nobody objected to polio shots.

Mr. Walsh retorts:

Anyway this is not about vaccines. It is about masks on kids. It is my understanding that very few European countries are requiring masks for kids at school even though many of them are experiencing Delta surges.

Robert the Bruce doubles down:

I read the article. I don't care about the masking issue as much as I do about the horrendous American vax rate. And don't call me a Covid Nazi. The current cavalier use of that word shows the vast general ignorance of the evil National Socialist Party. The Germans don't throw that word around because they certainly understand its gravity Tim replies:

Polio shots were developed over a long period of time and were not in any way comparable to this, which is a gene therapy and not a vaccine at all. It is a false equivalency Robert Bruce Sullivan. This vaccine was developed in one year, tested, and sent to the general public. Any reasonably prudent person would be given pause to injecting a substance into their bodies so ill-tested and potentially dangerous. Also, you may sneer at the idea of guarding freedom but most Western people do not - including the British. It is something people have died to protect. You seem to want everyone to surrender it to protect against a disease with a 0.1 percent mortrality rate. If you want to do that knock yourself out, but don't demand everyone else follow suit.

Also Robert Bruce Sullivan you cannot really prove the assertion you made that the vaccine has greatly improved things. We do not have any control group to study. We do not conduct this as a lab experiment. We have had horrible case inflations, and the numbers are not robust. What we have is government-run agencies telling us what they want us to hear. You can believe these vaccines are working just fine, but I would add the number of deaths in Britain among vaccinated are higher than among the unvaccinated. That shoots your theory down the toilet. I would also add the medical community was quite slow to take the vaccine, and a very large number of them in the U.S. hadn't taken it as of June.https://www.webmd.com/vaccines/covid-19-vaccine/news/20210628/huge-number-of-hospital-workers Now why do you suppose that is? They are used to dealing with diseases and a.didn't worry overmuch about Covid and b.DID worry about the dangers of the vaccine. Now more are vaccinated, but that's the only way to keep their jobs.

Also, the Covid vaccine doesn't stop you from being infective, nor does it keep you from catching covid - or dying, nor does it even last that long. And there is the danger (as was always know about mRNA vaccines) of Antibody-Dependant Enhancement, which means the vaccine actually may make you more susceptible to the disease over time. Vaccines for SARS, MERS and RSV have never been approved, and the data generated in the development and testing of these vaccines suggest a serious mechanistic concern: that vaccines designed empirically using the traditional approach (consisting of the unmodified or minimally modified coronavirus viral spike to elicit neutralising antibodies), be they composed of protein, viral vector, DNA or RNA and irrespective of delivery method, may worsen COVID-19 disease via antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE).” I would add that one of the groundbreaking researchers who developed mRNA vaccines - Robert Malone - is on record as warning against ADE for the Covid jab, and thinks the vaccine should be restricted to the at-risk bracket.
