Timothy Birdnow

Rep. Jim Jordan@Jim_Jord an:
Capitol Police requested National Guard help prior to January 6th. That request was denied by Speaker Pelosi and her Sergeant at Arms.

Watch that Rock!

Timothy Birdnow

So, where did that dinosaur-killing rock come from? Researchers have tried to chart it's path.

From the Smithsonian article:

The story likely started in the Oort Cloud. This is a cloud-like field of debris around the sun. But the debris don’t always stay there. The gravitational pull of the sun and Jupiter can pull comets and asteroids out of the cloud and inadvertently set them on a course for other parts of the solar system.

Some of the Oort Cloud comets are often big, between 10 and 37 miles across. And, Siraj noticed, when such large chunks of rock pass close enough to the sun, its massive gravitational forces can tear the rocks into smaller chunks. Those chunks might not be small in an absolute sense. Some can still be miles across, just like the one that struck the Earth 66 million years ago.

Both the sun and the planet Jupiter are so large that their gravity alters the orbits of comets that pass towards the middle of our solar system. Jupiter’s massive gravitational field sometimes disrupts their orbit and sends them closer to the sun. The overall effect, Siraj says, is "like a pinball machine.”

Some of these rocks passing close to the sun, Siraj says, "produce fields of cometary shrapnel.” The breakup of the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 is an example of just this sort of interstellar interaction. This comet was pulled apart by Jupiter’s gravity in 1992 before the pieces crashed into the planet in 1994.

Not that all experts agree with this new model. Asteroid expert Bill Bottke of the Southwest Research Institute says that events like Shoemaker-Levy 9 may have more stringent requirements than the new model suggests. Further, Bottke says, the model predicts that other planets in the solar system should show signs of these large impacts through time.

Siraj responds that time is a critical factor, with the new model focusing on objects that don’t immediately crash into Jupiter but make their way further into the solar system. And, Siraj says, "It is certainly possible that Mercury, Venus, or Mars had similar impact events,” but this was outside the scope of the present study.

Bear in mind we don't know if the space debris model is correct; there is as much evidence against it as for it. It may have been a massive volcanic event that caused the end of the Dinosaurs - or a combination of things including the space rock and volcanoes and who knows what else.

As usual the author pretends we have more knowledge then we do.

And the article takes on a soothing tone in suggesting we know we won't get hit again. We know nothing of the sort. In fact, we have not really charted many near-Earth asteroids, much less the deeper space objects. We could get creamed any time. But such worry does nobody any good. Still, I don't like it when science writers blow smoke up our backsides.

Arguing with Idiots D.C. "Mostly Peaceful Protest" Issue

Timothy Birdnow

Another arguing with idiots edition. This time Marty McClimens responds to Willis Eschenbach's post about why Trump has trouble finding lawyers (due to threats of violence and economic intimidation.)

Marty comments:

Timothy Birdnow "vile pricks" Proud Boys stand down and stand by

Our friend across the pond David Redfern asks:

Marty McClimens Where was any violence perpetrated by the Proud Boys?

Where were the burnings, looting and murders?

Kindly resort to evidence rather than unsubstantiated

smears.

Marty answers:

David Redfern at the capital! (sic)

I reply:

Evidence Marty McClimens. Please provide your evidence it was the Proud Boys who actually did the violence at the Capitol. From what I read they charged five Proud Boys with "aiding the mob". That is a far cry from pillaging Trump lawyer's home.

BTW, there is a difference between breaking windows at the Capitol and attacking the private residence of a lawyer for President Trump, which was intended as a way to bully lawyers into not working for him. I think you know that, and if you don't you should. The Capitol is the People's House, not a guy's private domicile where his family lives.

Again, why are you not concerned now? Or when BLM was rioting and looting all last year?

It was a nice try though Marty.

Marty retorts:

Timothy Birdnowany violence towards people or property is wrong. What you mean how Trump tried to bully his way after he lost by millions of votes in a free and fare election. I guess a coup by a beaten politician is cool though.

Democrats’ Demands For ‘Equity’ Are Really A Demand To Amp Up Government Discrimination

Dana Mathewson

I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise. After all, they've been practicing Identity Politics for years, and the main reason is always The Bottom Line.

Keep your eye on the word "equity,” for it is going to be an important part of your life in the next four years. Not interested? That doesn’t matter; equity has an interest in you.

Still not concerned? If you are affected by the taxes, laws, and regulations passed and implemented by the legislative and executive branches of government, or by the court decisions handed down by the judicial one, then you will be affected.

Or if you are affected by the everyday interpretations of any laws and regulations made by the unelected and un-enumerated branch of government, the permanent bureaucracy (where most power now resides), then you will be affected by "equity.”

If you read the news or are written about by a pompous fourth estate that now sees itself as the stenographers of Big Government and technocratic administration, then you will be affected by ubiquitous "equity.” So, yes, all 330 million Americans are likely to see "equity” enter their lives.

Even if I have your attention now, you may be tempted to say, OK, fine, but isn’t equity just the same as equality, just more modern-sounding? No. Do not confuse the two. They are not even cousins; they are opposites, or better yet, sworn enemies.

Equality is the standard of our old Constitution, the one framed in 1787 and amended since then, most memorably in the Bill of Rights and the Reconstruction Amendments. It holds that government should see all people as having been created equal, and equally deserving of the law’s protection.

It is a standard we have not always upheld, but when we have officially deviated from it—as in with slavery or legal segregation—we have paid an awful price. Indeed, at those moments we fixed these great injustices, it was because men like Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King came along and demanded enforcement of equality.

Equity is the buzzword of the new constitution trying to take the place of the old one. It holds that government must treat Americans differently according to what category the government has put us in. So equity literally holds that government must treat people un-equally.

Don’t believe me? You don’t want to trust a conservative like me to define a concept of the woke left? Completely understandable. So let’s instead listen to how Vice President Kamala Harris has described the difference between the two, as she did in a tweet on Nov. 1:

There’s a big difference between equality and equity. Equality suggests, ‘everyone should get the same amount.’ The problem with that, not everybody’s starting out from the same place. So if we’re all getting the same amount, but you started out back there and I started out over here, we could get the same amount, but you’re still going to be that far back behind me. It’s about giving people the resources and the support they need, so that everyone can be on equal footing, and then compete on equal footing.Equitable treatment means we all end up in the same place.

This is not Harris typing out a tweet in haste, mind you. Let’s not forget that she dismissed the Constitution as "that book that you carry” when confronting the now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh during their contentious exchange at his hearing on Sept. 7, 2018.Equity therefore explicitly demands that people violate the Constitution that Harris delights in disparaging — by, for example, calling for discrimination.

Again, don’t listen to me. Listen instead to what Boston University’s Ibram X. Kendi wrote in his best-seller, "How to be an Anti-Racist”: "The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”

Harris is now our vice president, and she seems to have put a stamp on her purported boss, President Joe Biden. One of his first acts in office was to sign an "Executive Order on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities.” It mentioned the word "equity” 21 times. And the word "equality”? Not even once.

The entire article is found here: https://thefederalist.com/2021/02/16/democrats-demands-for-equity-are-really-a-demand-to-amp-up-government-discrimination/ and I urge you to read it. As I've said elsewhere, dear readers, fasten your seat belts; it's going to be a bumpy four years!

Biden Cuts the Fuel Just in Time for Deep Freeze

From Tom Waeghe

LOL! 😂Can’t make this Scheisse up! Coming to a state near you if progressives and globalists and socialists have their way. More people die due to cold than hot weather.

"The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the state’s grid operator, issued an alert asking consumers and businesses to conserve power, citing record-breaking energy demands due to extreme cold gripping the state.

"We are dealing with higher-than-nor mal generation outages due to frozen wind turbines and limited natural gas supplies available to generating units,” the agency said.

Wind farms in West Texas, stricken by weekend ice storms, were particularly hard hit.”

Icy weather chills Texas wind energy as deep freeze grips much of U.S.

Tim adds:

The sad thing is the media will convince the public that this is all about greed and price gouging on the part of the utility companies rather than ridiculous energy policies by the Progressives and the Gang Green.

Al Gore must be rubbing off on Joe Biden and the rest; used to be it was only the Gore who could conjure up a blizzard at any time anywhere.

Google and big tech are Doing their best to pretend this didn’t happen. They removed links made it difficult to fine but the fact is there were thousands of scientists and the scientific consensus was that we were having a coming ice age. Then it began to warm up after the 70s and they switched on a dime to global warming. Fear feeds the research departments and makes them important beyond what should be.

The Reason Trump Has No Lawyers

This from Willis Eschenbach:

People kept claiming that the reason that President Trump had trouble getting lawyers was because none of them liked him ...

Here's the real reason:

===
"Michael van der Veen, one of the lawyers who defended former President Donald Trump successfully in the Senate impeachment trial, said after the verdict Saturday that his family, home and law practice are "under siege” due to his representation of Mr. Trump.

"My home was attacked. I’d rather not go into it because it would encourage other people to do it more, but you know, I’ve had nearly 100 death threats,” he told reporters. "My home was attacked last night — windows broken, spray paint, really bad words spray-painted everywhere.”
===

100 death threats. Windows broken. Despicable and cowardly.

And any number of you vile pricks are accusing President Trump of inciting violence by saying things like:

===
"We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."
===

That's what the lying scumball Democrats Impeachment Managers left entirely out of their carefully censored video of the President's speech. In a court of law they would have been found in contempt for doctoring and falsifying evidence in this manner.

The truth is that the DEMOCRATS have been inciting violence of all kinds, including doxxing and attacking the families of anyone who opposes them.

And after Democrats encouraging, supporting and funding bloody brutal violence in the streets for the last nine months, you have the unmitigated gall to claim that Republicans are inciting violence?

Yeah, this is the "healing" that Biden promised ... a lie, just like the rest of the Democrat lies.

Here's the transcript of President Trump's speech. Please quote the part where he advocated or incited violence. You can't. He didn't. So stop with the lies.

Tim adds:

Bear in mind too that any lawyer who worked for Trump in any capacity was going to be blackballed and his dealings in Washington were finished. Most likely such a person would wind up chasing ambulances in Peoria after that - if he stayed in the law at all. They are using McCarthyite tactics against anyone who dares help Orange Man.

Farking Florida

This from Willis Eschenbach:

Here are the states arranged in order by COVID deaths per million on 14 Feb 2021.

Guess which state 10% Joe wants to issue "travel restrictions" for ... you know, the same travel restrictions that he roundly abused President Trum for using on countries with high COVID rates.

Yep. Florida. Can you say "sickening political pandering"? 10% Joe said he had a plan to deal with COVID. And here it is.

No photo description available.

John Sur adds:

Worldometer? Don't see California there. Friday it was 1174/million or 0.1174% of the population. Death rate per case was 1.34% so the survival rate was 98.66%! What pandemic? More sea level bunkum with b.s. modeling

This from Richard Cronin:

More sea level bunkum with b.s. modeling.

"The scientists found that the trends of the AR5 and SROCC sea level projections under three different scenarios of greenhouse gas emissions "agree well with satellite and tide-gauge observations over the common period 2007–2018, within the 90 percent confidence level."

90 % confidence level isn’t even two standard deviations (2 Sigma). Also, for a linked chain of multiple, related events, the standard deviation of the overall system is obtained by multiplying the standard deviations together. In short order, the confidence in the entire system analysis degrades to near zero.

Biden's Made in America order

Dana Mathewson

It's nice to be back, folks. Did any of you actually miss me? Wife, dog and I moved and it's been a heckuva job.

Anyhow, Crazy Joe has issued an order that the gummint must fill its contracts with Made In America stuff. What could possibly go wrong with that? I'm sure you're ahead of me.

On those rare occasions in 2020 when candidate Joe Biden emerged from his basement to stumble through a campaign stump speech, a common theme was that his administration would do more to use the vast spending powers of the federal government to help American businesses.

According to Biden, previous presidents have largely failed to take advantage of existing laws meant to give preference to U.S. businesses in the federal procurement of goods and services.

The political advantages of Biden’s "Made in America" commitments were obvious. No president in modern U.S. history has done more than Donald Trump to make "America First" the standard upon which all policies should be judged.

By emphasizing "Made in America," Biden attempted to out-MAGA the man who captured the White House in 2016 by focusing on the forgotten blue-collar men and women of economically depressed parts of America’s Heartland.

Whether the strategy worked is a question that has yet to be answered. Exit polling seems to suggest the outcome of the 2020 election was likely more the result of personality differences between the candidates and the effects of coronavirus-related policies than it was anything else.

But President Biden knows that if he or a Democratic successor is to be victorious in 2024, winning over the hearts and minds of blue-collar voters in "flyover country" who identify as Democrats but have become increasingly sympathetic to the Republican Party is likely going to be essential.

In an effort to expand support among that key demographic, Biden recently issued a "Made in America"executive order that will require federal agencies to spend a greater proportion of their budgets on goods and services offered by U.S. companies.

[...]

A closer look at Biden’s executive order, however, reveals there is much more to the White House’s Made in America policy than meets the eye.

Biden’s plan requires the creation of a Made in America Office, the apparent acronym of which is, quite incredibly, "MAO." MAO, which will be housed in the Office of Management and Budget, will work as the Biden administration’s Made in America hall monitor, ensuring that the behemoth federal bureaucracy in Washington, D.C., spends its vast resources on American products and services and issuing exemptions to the policy, when appropriate.

But MAO will not merely require other federal agencies to buy from American businesses. The Biden administration has signaled it will also mandate that the federal government buy from U.S. businesses that pursue certain left-wing goals.

According to an official statement of the White House, Biden’s Made in America executive order "is deeply intertwined with the President’s commitment to invest in American manufacturing, including clean energy and critical supply chains, grow good-paying, union jobs, and advance racial equity."

(You saw THAT coming, of course.)

Additionally, the wording of the executive order is so vague, MAO could interpret its directive as a justification to exclude just about any business it wants from gaining a federal contract, presumably even if that business is offering the government the best service at the lowest cost.

The order’s "policy" section states, "The United States Government should, whenever possible, procure goods, products, materials, and services from sources that will help American businesses compete in strategic industries and help America’s workers thrive."

Thanks to the White House’s statement, we now know that at the very least, the "strategic industries" mentioned in the executive order include costly, inefficient "green" companies linked to wind and solar energy, and it seems apparent the mandate to "help America’s workers thrive" includes union jobs and promoting "racial equity."

And so on. Read the rest here: https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/biden-made-america-order-social-justice-justin-haskiins

MAO! (snicker) And you'll love the part about how you may have to have the requisite number of electric vehicles, etc.

A Modern Game of Cavalry and Indians

Timothy Birdnow

I was just talking to my father yesterday about the diffence between the GOP and the Democrats. The Democrats are like the Cavalry in an old Western; they are organized, disciplined, and trained. The GOP is like an Indian war party; a bunch of people who go because they feel like it and don't follow orders or have any real strategy. In the end the army always beats a mob, which is what the Republicans really are. And as with this analogy many Indians settled on the reservation, went to white schools, and adopted the Man's manners. So too do the Republicans who go to Washington adopt the Democrat's rules and prohibitions and even fight against the "wild Indians" who resist being enculturated (like Trump). If everyone remembers, the Indians were more interested in fighting each-other than resisting the encroaching white military. That's the GOP in a nutshell.

Gog, Collectivism, and the Half Time Show

Dana Mathewson with hat tip to sister-in-law Nancy Powell. This is from a Facebook post by Brad Thompson.

I’m about to pull back the curtain and tell you what you saw tonight on the Super Bowl half time show.

In 2008 I was watching the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. There were hundreds of dancers dressed exactly alike, making the exact same movements, in perfect timing. No one stood out. Everyone looked and danced exactly the same.
As I was watching, the Spirit of God spoke to me clearly. And I will never forget the moment! He said, "THAT IS GOG”! I knew God spoke to me but I had no idea what he meant. So I started my journey to find out what GOG is and tonight I am going to briefly explain it to you.

In Ezekiel 38:2 GOG is the Chief Prince of the land of Magog who leads the final invasion against Israel. I can prove in many ways that this is an Old Testament reference to Armageddon. The term "Chief Prince” only appears twice in the Bible. Once in reference Michael, the Chief Prince (Daniel 12:1) and once in reference to GOG in Ezekiel 38:2.

Long story short, GOG is a demonic principality with an ideology finding its launching place in the land of Magog or the former Soviet Union. It is the Demon behind collectivism. Collectivism puts the group or the State over the individual.

Individualism is what America was built on. Collectivism is what Communist countries are built on. This Demonic spirit of Communism has now infected the entire world and its primary spreader is China. The ideals of collectivist/communist China is GOG! It will eventually dominate the entire world. How do I know this? Because God calls the nations in the four corners of the earth "GOG and MAGOG” in Revelation 20:8.

What you saw tonight during the half time show was the demonic principality GOG in America. It is the driving spirit that works with the spirit of Antichrist to deceive the people of the world into becoming one. United as ONE against Christianity and the Lord Jesus Christ.

This demon believes it now has total control of the United States. I believe he is wrong! Because I believe the United States is the sanctuary for believers in the last days before Christ return. It’s called "the wilderness” in Revelation 12:6 and 14.

The Dragon/Satan is using GOG to devour America before it can become what God intends. He will lose this fight. (Revelation 12:13-17)

What I have written tonight is some of the deepest revelation into End Time prophesy you will ever read. But I have seen these truths and I cannot be shaken from them. America will remain the sanctuary for believers in Christ and it will be the launching pad to the four corners of the earth to reach the greatest harvest of souls in the history of the world. It was dedicated in 1607 by pastor Robert Hunt to do just that. (See also Mathew 24:14, Mathew 13:39, Revelation 7:9 and 14). It is my strong conviction that GOG is about to lose his grip on America. God is getting ready to shake things up. The world will be shocked by what is about to happen! God’s harvest is coming! And judgment is coming on those who have set themselves against God’s natural order.

Biden Stokes the Flames

Timothy Birdnow

So Screwless Joe says he wants reconciliation and to be everyone's President.

So why this?

Why make a statement claiming Trump is guilty, guilty, guilty! when in fact there is no evidence and the pompous hair sniffer knows it. IF he wanted to tone things down, why toss live grenades on the fire?

Anybody?

Here is the Great Pretender's statement:

"It was nearly two weeks ago that Jill and I paid our respects to Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who laid in honor in the Rotunda after losing his life protecting the Capitol from a riotous, violent mob on January 6, 2021.

Today, 57 Senators – including a record 7 Republicans – voted to find former President Trump guilty for inciting that deadly insurrection on our very democracy. The Senate vote followed the bipartisan vote to impeach him by the House of Representatives. While the final vote did not lead to a conviction, the substance of the charge is not in dispute. Even those opposed to the conviction, like Senate Minority Leader McConnell, believe Donald Trump was guilty of a "disgraceful dereliction of duty" and "practically and morally responsible for provoking" the violence unleashed on the Capitol.

Tonight, I am thinking about those who bravely stood guard that January day. I’m thinking about all those who lost their lives, all those whose lives were threatened, and all those who are still today living with terror they lived through that day. And I’m thinking of those who demonstrated the courage to protect the integrity of our democracy – Democrats and Republicans, election officials and judges, elected representatives and poll workers – before and after the election.

This sad chapter in our history has reminded us that democracy is fragile. That it must always be defended. That we must be ever vigilant. That violence and extremism has no place in America. And that each of us has a duty and responsibility as Americans, and especially as leaders, to defend the truth and to defeat the lies.

That is how we end this uncivil war and heal the very soul of our nation. That is the task ahead. And it’s a task we must undertake together. As the United States of America.

Duh...Pseudo Science and Columbus

Timothy Birdnow

That is stupid beyond words. It never occurs to these dimwits that it is the exact other way around; the decline of Native American cultures stemmed from changes in the climate. The end of the Medieval Warming Period certainly coincided with the decline of the Mayans, the Incans, and the Mound Builders. It had nothing to do with declining populations in the Americas and certainly nothing to do with the coming of the Europeans. I despair of the stupidity of modern so-called "science".

Earth Systems Impact of the European Arrival and the Great Dying in the Americas After 1492

I would point out that the pre-Columbian American cultures had very limited agricultural capabilities, largely because they had only one staple crop (maize) and had no beasts of burden to aid in cultivation. As a result these civilizations had very limited carrying capacity, because they could be wiped out whenever there was a crop failure. In Europe there were multiple crops going and if one failed another could still feed the populace. And the Europeans had trade, with Asia, with Africa, etc. while the Americas didn't really trade with each-other. The Incans did not even know the Aztecs were there.

It made these cultures very vulnerable, most especially to changes in weather.

It had nothing to do with those evil white men.

From the "research":

We estimate that 55 million indigenous people died following the European conquest of the Americas beginning in 1492. This led to the abandonment and secondary succession of 56 million hectares of land. We calculate that this led to an additional 7.4 Pg. C being removed from the atmosphere and stored on the land surface in the 1500s. This was a change from the 1400s of 9.9 Pg C (5 ppmCO2). Including feedback processes this contributed between 47%and 67% of the 15e22 Pg C (7e10 ppm CO2) decline in

atmospheric CO2between 1520 CE and 1610 CE seen in Antarctic ice core re-cords. These changes show that the Great Dying of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas is necessary for a parsimonious explanation of the anomalous decrease in atmospheric CO2at that time and the resulting decline in global surface air temperatures. These changes show that human actions had global impacts on the Earth system in the centuries prior to the Industrial Revolution. Our results also show that this aspect of the Columbian Exchange the globalization of diseases had global impacts on the Earth system, key evidence in the calls for the drop in atmospheric CO2at 1610 CE to mark the onset of the Anthropocene epoch (Lewis and Maslin,2015,201 8). We conclude that the Great Dying of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas led to the abandonment of enough cleared land in the Americas that the resulting terrestrial carbon uptake had a detectable impact on both atmospheric CO2and global sur-face air temperatures in the two centuries prior to the Industrial Revolution.

St. Valentine

Timothy Birdnow

On this the feast of St. Valentine it would do well to remember that Valentine's Day is not just a celebration of romantic love but actually celebrates a real saint who gave his life for Christ.

Valentine of Terni was a third century martyr executed by the Romans for violating an edict by Emperor Claudius II Gothicus who ordered that young men not be permitted to marry so they could be conscripted for war. Valentine defied the order, marrying the young men against the imperial edict. As a result he was arrested and sentenced to death by a variety of means, including stoning and decapitation.

Another story says Valentine was imprisoned and became friendly with his Roman jailer, who brought his daughter to be taught to read by the educated priest. Some accounts say Valentine miraculously healed the young girl from blindness. At any rate a fast friendship formed between the two and Valentine wrote her letters from his prison cell signed "your Valentine". In the end he still wound up headless.

At any rate, there is a good deal of ambiguity about St. Valentine, enough so that the Church took his feast out of the calender.

At the end of the fifth century Pope Gelasius I forbade the pagan Roman festival of Lupercalia. Lupercalia was a rite of spring celebrated in mid February and featured some rather saucy activities, including sexual coupling by lottery. The Catholic Church was quite good at co-opting popular pagan festivals, and did so here replacing the Lupercalia with the feast of St. Valentine.

But this didn't really catch on as a major holiday of love until the 14th century when written valentine's cards began to appear. The practice caught on and has been with us ever since. Cupid, the Roman god of love, was added shortly thereafter.

Let us not forget that there actually was a real Valentine (probably more than one, actually) who really did give his life for his faith. This is more than just a holiday for Hallmark, Hershey, and hydrangea growers.

At any rate have a happy Valentine's Day!

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA)

Every one of these traitorous sons of witches should be primaried and driven from public life.

And don't forget Mitch the Bitch McConnell, who, while voting for acquittal, gave a vile speech after the vote trashing Donald Trump and blaming him for everything from world hunger to insomnia. McConnell showed yesterday he was a huge part of the problem, verifying my belief McConnell probably cut a deal with the Democrats to help Trump lose in return for the Democrats not going after House or Senate seats too hard. McConnell and his Chinese wife are getting big bucks from the Chicoms, I might add.

It's past time Sir Jowlington was retired.

Let us never forget these scumbags! Take them out next election!

Earth's Surface GAINED Land Despite Global Warming

This from Larry Kummer

I've been reading Nature and Nature Climate Change for a decade (Nature longer). The Climate Emergency is always getting worse. Even worse than expected. There are few contrary articles, and those are ignored (example below). Yet in 2020 almost nothing has changed. The world is a little warmer. A bit less winter ice in the Arctic ocean. Crop yields continue to increase. The area of land is unchanged.

When pointing this out, I feel like the child in the Emperor's New Clothes (it's more of a chorus). Why isn't this obvious, and a major factor in the discussion?

An example of a contra-doomster paper quite ignored: "Earth's surface water change over the past 30 years", NCC, September 2016. Net increase of 58 km2 in land area from 1985 - 2015. At least this w/b mentioned in the stories describing how the world is flooding right now. But it's contra to the narrative, and so ignored. Only 2695 accesses and 134 Citations. For a climate scientist, writing doomster papers is the fast track to success.
