Partition May be the Only Answer

This from Judson Phillips:

A few weeks ago, the media breathlessly reported the story of how a bunch of liberal Democrats and Never Trumpers had "war-gamed" out possible outcomes of the election.

In one of their scenarios, CA, OR and WA, threatened to secede and form the new country of Cascadia, if Trump did not concede.

The more I think about it, the more I think that could be the best case scenario for America. Let the left coast go and become Venezuela and let real Americans live in peace and prosperity.

Tim adds:

I've believed for a long time that the ultimate survival of this country depends on partition. We are at a stage where we no longer even tolerate each-other. The Left, ravenous and hate-filled, wants it all. How do you remain in union with people who want to punish you for the horrible sin of being an American? Partition and save a remnant. In the process we can perhaps offload some of our national debt onto the new blue states. But we keep the military and all the military hardware.

1 Agreed, Brother Tim, especially your last sentence. The seceding states can have the social workers.

2 And all the bureaucrats. It would be like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Golgafrincham Arc Ship B. The Golgafrincham tricked all their unproductive people into believing they were going to have to immigrate to prehistoric Earth to establish a colony, when really they just wanted to get rid of bureaucrats and meter maids and the like. They sent them ahead, telling them they were the "indispensible" colonists when in reality nobody else was going. It took them a year and a half to invent the wheel; they established a wheel committee and took six months to determine the color.

Maybe we can do that with the new Blue Confederacy?

3 We need to keep the states with the real manufacturing industries, such as automobile plants, and the producers of raw materials. This produces a dilemma right away because Minnesota is still mining -- though the DFL wants to make it illegal -- taconite, copper and other useful stuff. We also have to keep the oil-producers, both the states that pump it and the states that refine it.

There's a problem with letting Kalifornica go, because they are the biggest food-producing state. Ideas there?

4 Well, there's always trade for what we need I suppose Dana. Yeah; we'd lose some stuff we need but other states could take up the slack.

It may mean we no longer are the world's superpower, but that may be out of our hands anyway. Certainly if America collapsed it would be.

The northern tier is what bothers me. The coasts could secede, but I would hate to lose 'sota and Illinois and the like. Perhaps Chicago and Wisconsin and Minnesota could join Canada? Southern Illinois could apply for admission as its' own state.

Maybe we should buy Baja California and make that the new America's west coast, banning immigration from the moonbats in Ca.
