Covid 19 and Climate Change: Second Verse, Same as the First

This from Joseph Bast:

Wow! Replace "COVID-19” with "climate change” and the message would be the same: government officials who claim to be "following the science” in fact are relying on modelers, who are not actually scientists at all and have been wildly incorrect. Models typically leave out real-world economic and social concerns. Reliance on one or a few models hides the wide disagreements among real scientists. Too bad The Guardian, a socialist rag that is uber-alarmist on climate change, fails to make the connection.

Scientists Criticize U.K. Government's 'Following the Science' Claim

FROM TIM:

This thing looks almost exactly like the Climate Change campaign. It's what made me suspicious about the shutdown in the first place. Seems they are just reusing the same model but with a different villain.

1 It becomes more outrageous by the day. New York antibody test of random people at grocery stores shows that 20% of people have been infected, which means that the "case fatality rate" is well under 1% and the population fatality rate is almost too small to measure. It also means we did not "flatten the curve" in the least and were saved only by the fact that the disease is so much less deadly that we were told it was.

2 As Tim posted a few weeks ago, it looks, to those of us with a suspicious bent, more than a little like a "test run" by Democrat governors (in particular) to see how meekly citizens will take orders to "sit down and shut up."

3 AND I should have referred to an earlier excellent article posted on this site, about "experts" who know only one thing and use that as their reference for everything -- they are referred to as "hedgehogs." I'm not sure (and can't tell from here) if that article is still on the front page or has slipped into the second page by now. If you haven't read it (it quotes from the Smithsonian Magazine, formerly a great read but lately little more than a tiresome screed for how man has screwed up the climate) you may want to look it up; it's very good.

I keep quote former President Harry S Truman, who said "You can't tell an expert anything, because then he's no longer an expert." Ol' Harry could turn a mean phrase and was so often correct when he did so.

4 I'm just wild about Harry...
