The good folks at Conservative Hq discuss the planned backdoor gun grab by the house of Representatives.

I don't have a lot to add. I agree; it's nothing but a way to take guns, and will do nothing to stop these mass shootings. My purpose here is to tell a little story about a mass shooting which ultimately allowed me to come into being.

Back in the '20's my flapper grandmother decided to attend a movie in Baden, a rather rough working class neighborhood in the north part of the City of St. Louis. While there a man in the back row opened fire on the theater. My grandmother was shot in the hand and had to spend a few days in the hospital. My grandfather had been trying to court her, but she didn't especially like him and had no plans to pursue the relationship. But while she was hospitalized he came out every day - the only one of her friends to visit her. It was at that point that she decided to take a closer look at Mr. Birdnow.

One thing led to another and they were married, she gave birth to my dad, and so I am here because of a mass shooting.

One never knows the twists of Fate, or how God's Will can take something bad and turn it to good.
