Here are some ancient thoughts that apply to the hatefest we just witnessed:
"Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory is won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory.â€
own spleen; no general should fight a battle simply out of pique.
If it is to your advantage, make a forward move; if not, stay
where you are.
Anger may in time change to gladness; vexation may be succeeded
by content.
But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again
into being; nor can the dead ever be brought back to life.â€
― Sun Tzu
The Democrats acted out of pique and will pay.

You'd think the Donkey Party would have learned something about him by now, but it really does appear that they are incapable of learning -- at least about Republicans. Once somebody has been tagged with the "Deplorable" label, the elites just can't believe they are smart.
This all works to our advantage. IF we choose to take advantage of it, that is.

Machiavelli was not wrong, and not even especcialy evil. He's worth reading and utilizing. But Sun Tzu was a very wise military philosopher and the Left disdains him - oddly enough.
Trump has clearly read Sun Tzu. I see it every time he acts. His all-over-the-place tweeting is one example; Sun Tzu advocated "if the enemy thinks you are near be far away, if they think you far be near" and Trump does this, is completely unpredictable. It drives the Left nuts (and a lot of Conservatives as well) because they can't ger a clear shot at him. It's like trying to hunt a wild bird, turkey say, with a 22 bolt action rifle.
Trump chooses his ground carefully. He doesn't fight if he doesn't have an edge. He follows a lot of the precepts put down by Tzu, and I have little doubt he's read The Art of War.
The Republicans desperately need to read that. Macchiavelli too.
