Fire on the Temple Mount

While the Notre Dame fire has sucked up all the oxygen where such things are concerned, it should be noted that Solomon'Stables aka The Marwani Prayer Hall, on the Temple Mount near the Al Aqsa Mosque, caught fire. According to the Jerusalem Post:

Not sure why the head of the Palestinian Authority is commenting on this; he has no authority here. But what the heck.
That last paragraph suggests that Abbas thinks the Notre Dame fire was set by Muslims, and he's trying to get ahead of any retaliation. Not that Christians (or Jews) are known for tit-for-tat violence the way Muslims do it.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but the director general of the Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib, told Jordan's Al-Mamlaka that the fire may have been caused by children.
PA President Mahmoud Abbas warned anyone against targeting the holy site, stressing the need to preserve Al-Aqsa's "great religious and humanitarian value."
