Democrats go Country

Timothy Birdnow

The Democrats appear to have realized that they can't simply surrender the countryside without a fight. The associated Press details a plan by Democrats to make inroads into the heartland of America.

They are going to have their work cut out for them; Middle America doesn't like the direction the party is taking.

It appears the Democrats are going to use things like infrastructure spending to appeal to the farmers and country vote. Can this overcome the slobbering fawning of the Democrats to the urban identity politics vote? I doubt it. But after the last few elections they are starting to realize that there are more people in America than just Hispanics, homosexuals, and #meetoo abortion advocates.

I'll be curious how they plan to sell, say, Kamala Harris or AOC to ranchers in Wyoming. Maybe Elizabeth Warren can put on some spurs and a stetson and pretend she's a cowboy instead of an Indian?

Fake News WaPo Pot calls Fox Kettle Black

Timothy Birdnow

Carbon scored pot points bony finger at kettle.

Margaret Sullivan has the gall to attack Fox News from the pages of the Fake News Washington Post.

From the article:

The network, which attracts more viewers than its two major competitors, specializes in fearmongering and unrelenting alarmism. Remember "the caravan”?

Fearmongering? Who is it that has been breathlessly issuing dire warning about "Russian election tampering" and "collusion" as if it's still 1955 and we are playing spy-v-spy? This is projection on a monumental level.

Nearly One out of Three Americans Want Socialism

Timothy Birdnow

A recent Harris poll found 63% of Americans reject living in a socialist state despite favoring socialist policcies.

According to the article:

Almost 63 percent of adults and more than 50 percent of young Americans disagreed when asked if they "prefer living in a socialist country.”

The takeaway? Nearly forty percent of all Americans LIKE the idea, despite our having fought a Cold War for decades and ample evidence of the utter failure of socialist schemes. This is actually quite staggering.

Also:

Notably, while most Americans don’t want to live in a socialist country, the majority still approve of socialist policies. Two out of three adults surveyed agreed that the government "should provide universal health care” and 56 percent said the government should provide "tuition-free college.” Sanders has embraced these two socialist policies for years, while several leading Democratic candidates have made them part of their 2020 platform.

This is truly frightening, because it means we could well repeat the mistakes of the past - with the same results. Socialism is not good in any way one can imagine. It takes from the productive and gives to the unproductive. It disincentivizes those who would generate wealth. It incentivizes those in the governing class, so everyone wants to become one of the administrators, the cadre', instead of the laborer or worse, the manager who is forced to answer for a lack of productivity. Under socialism the ruling class lives very well at the expense of the laborer, who lives in poverty. But they all have free health insurance and free college, yes sir!

Socialism starts out with great promise, and exhausts the wealth produced by the Capitalist system it replaces. Things are wonderful at first - at first. It does not last. As Margaret Thatcher pointed out, it only lasts until you run out of other people's money.

Yes, life is hard in a free society. You have to provide for yourself, and that can be tough. But it is ultimately much tougher to live under a system that does not provide adequately for you but prevents you from providing for yourself. Sadly, most Ameriricans are so rich they can't see the downside of being a socialist. Capitalism has been too good to them.

Bad Fortune; The Chinese Cookie Crumbles

Timothy Birdnow

The Chinese cookie continues to crumble. A recent drop in auto sales signales the horrible slide of the Chicoms command economy.

From Reuters:

China’s automobile sales fell 13.8 percent in February from the same month a year earlier, the country’s biggest auto industry association said on Monday, marking the eighth consecutive month of decline in the world’s largest auto market.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said sales fell to 1.48 million vehicles last month, after declines of 16 percent in January and 13 percent in December.

Sales of new energy vehicles, such as electric cars, rose 53.6 percent year-on-year in February, the group said.

"The trend experienced last year has continued into this year, and the economic situation has also been weak. This has dragged down consumption,” CAAM’s Deputy Secretary General Shi Jianhua told reporters at a news briefing in Beijing.

"Consumers are also waiting for more government policies,” he said.

China plans billions of dollars in tax cuts and infrastructure spending to support an economy growing at its slowest pace in almost 30 years due to softer domestic demand and a trade war with the United States.

If America hadn't kowtowed to the Golden Dragon all these years we could have forced the Chinese government to make such reforms long ago. But the Elites in the U.S. and Europe wanted the profits to be made from commerce with the world's most populous country, and were willing to sell their souls for it.

China's economy is shrinking at an alarming rate, and they will either have to reform or go under. The pragmatists in Beijing - Communists, certainly, but survivors - know they are going to have to change the way they do things. Right now, they are under enormous pressure from the United States and that is a good thing, because they have been running roughshod over America, her markets and her People, for years now. Their roaring economic success was always largely artificial, an artifact of the planned clearing of the field by the West. We gave them the manufacturing market. Now we are starting to take it back - and they don't like it.

There is real danger, though, because China may well look to some foreign adventure to distract the people from their failures. If that happens we could well wind up with a war breaking out. I doubt the Chicoms will go quietly.

Parents catch, restrain pedophile

Timothy Birdnow

Here's a good story for a change. A convicted sex offender tried to kidnap a couple of small children and, well:

Police said in a statement that DeWitt—who is a convicted sex offender—tried to grab a 3-year-old boy by the arm while the child was at a play area at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park.

The little boy was partially inside a play apparatus and DeWitt didn’t manage to make off with the child, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station press release stated.

After the first failed kidnapping attempt, DeWitt allegedly picked up a 4-year-old boy and tried to leave the area with the child, according to police.

Investigators said the children’s parents saw what was happening and immediately sprung into action.

"The victim’s parents and other family members saw the abduction, were able to catch DeWitt and wrestle the boy away from him,” a Sheriff’s Department statement said. "DeWitt attempted to leave the area, but was subdued by a member of the boy’s family.”

Police said other witnesses and family members also held DeWitt down and subdued him until police officers arrived and took him into custody.

Hopefully he was a bit worse for wear when the cops showed up; in fact he was hopefully glad to see the Police. Vigalante justice? High time.

The Wages of Stupidity...

Timothy Birdnow

Here's a nomination for the Darwin Awards.

A foolish woman at Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park in Phoenix climbed into the Jaguar pen to take a selfie and was mauled for her troubles. Quick thinking on the part of an onlooker saved the dimwitted would-be cat dinner; a woman stuck a water bottle through the fence and distracted the jaguar, getting the animal to release the victim. Had this ploy failed our selfie-made woman may have been eligible for the Darwin.

The Zoo said they will not euthanize the critter; it was only doing what comes naturally. The woman, on the other hand...

Well, they aren't going to put HER down, but perhaps she will learn a lesson and come out a bit wiser, if even more chewed.

If people want selfies with jaguars, try taking them at a local car dealership...

Finn-ished!

Timothy Birdnow

Democratic Socialism goes Kaput in Finland.

From Legal Insurrection:

Finland has long been touted by American socialists as the socialist Nirvana, where everything is free and everyone is happy, happy, happy. Sadly, fiscal reality hit Finland’s government as it collapsed Friday due to the rising costs of its universal health care.

The warning signs were on the wall last spring when Finland, as Leslie noted, ended its experiment with "universal basic income.”

Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has been hanging his socialist mantle on the "success” of Finland’

When talking to the new socialists, they invariably ignore the failures of socialism across the globe and zero in on the "democratic socialism" of Scandinavia (ever notice there are no successful socialist entities outside of Scandinavia? Oh, and I know technically Finland isn't Scandinavia, but it may as well be.) The ignore you when you point out that the countries in question have low populations, heavy immigration rates, and have benefitted tremendously from America's protection and support. In Scandinavia the only people who run businesses are immigrants; the native born are too slothful to bother, enjoying the welfare benefits provided to them by the immigrant populace and by the American military. But, as Margaret Thatcher so artfully pointed out, socialism eventually runs out of other people's money, and that is precisely what is happening here.

Pelosi Stuck with Anti-Semite Tlaib

Timothy Birdnow

Looks like Rashida Tlaib follows some vile anti-semites on Instagram. Gateway Pundit quotes Capitol Research:

Ashley Rae Goldenberg at Capital Research reported:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who made news for being the first Palestinian Muslim woman elected to U.S. Congress, follows an Instagram account that routinely shares blatantly anti-Semitic posts and 9/11 conspiracy theories. The account Tlaib follows shares posts comparing Jews to vermin and Hitler, posts asserting Jews wield an enormous amount of power, and posts claiming Israel "did” 9/11 and supports ISIS.

Tlaib’s official verified Instagram account, which follows under 1,100 users, is following an account called "free.palestine.1948,” a reference to the establishment of Israel. The Instagram page appears to post multiple times per day. While Tlaib does follow other pages that mention "Palestine” in their names, those pages are private. Tlaib does not appear to follow any obviously pro-Israel pages.

Article I, Section 5 of the United States Constitution grants Congress the powers to choose their own members. The text states:

"Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members, and a majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business; but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the attendance of absent members, in such manner, and under such penalties as each House may provide."

The Warren Court ruled in 1969 That Adam Clayton Powell Jr. and stated that the only grounds for removal of a duly elected Representative is not meeting the qualifications - age, residency, or being a citizen, and for malfeasance (bribery, etc.). Sadly the House has allowed Alcee Hastings, a Federal judge who was impeached for taking bribes, to be seated as a Congressman.

Prior to the Powell ruling, there were a number of duly elected people refused their seats, a number of whom (including Reed Smoot, he of Smoot-Hawley, on the basis of Mormonism and polygamy, but was later allowed into the club.

So, the Dems can't remove her so easily. Of course, they can primary her out, and in the meantime deny her committee assignments. It's possible to be in Congress and have no reason to be there. But the way the democrats operate they will not do that; they are going to want her vote on matters. So they'll take the black eye and risk everything.

Frankly I want her there; she shows the world exactly what the Democrat Party has become.

Thyroid Hormones may help repair heart

Timothy Birdnow

Most cold-blooded animals can regenerate limbs and repair damage to their organs - most especially the heart. There was tantalizing evidence that the warm-blooded critters may have surrendered this ability when they adopted internal body temperature controls. Well, new research suggests that the thyroid is the key to this, and that hormones from the thyroid may be the key.

From the article:

When the researchers injected newborn mice with a drug that blocked thyroid hormone receptors and inspected their hearts two weeks later, they found four times as many dividing diploid heart muscle cells than mice that received no drug. Similar results were observed when they administered a different drug that impeded the production of thyroid hormones.

The researchers also produced genetically engineered mice whose heart cells lacked a functional receptor for thyroid hormone, which allowed their hearts to develop free from the influence of thyroid hormones. Unlike normal mice, these mutant mice were found to have significant numbers of actively dividing, diploid heart cells. Furthermore, when the scientists restricted blood flow to the heart—a condition that usually causes permanent damage to cardiac tissue—they observed a 10-fold increase in the number of dividing heart cells and 62 percent less scar tissue when compared with normal mice. Meanwhile, echocardiograms revealed an 11 percent improvement in heart function over normal mice after injury.

In stark contrast to mice and other mammals, adult zebrafish have relatively low levels of circulating thyroid hormone. This led Huang to wonder whether increasing the levels of thyroid hormone could shut off the self-repair machinery that makes zebrafish hearts uncommonly resilient.

The researchers added thyroid hormone to the water in zebrafish tanks, then surgically amputated a portion of the heart and provided the fish with ample recovery time. Normally, zebrafish would be able to completely repair this kind of damage over the course of a few weeks. But fish that were reared in a high-hormone environment experienced a 45 percent reduction in heart cell division, a significant increase in polyploid heart cells and pronounced scarring of heart tissue after injury. Just as in mammals, thyroid hormones led to impaired cardiac regeneration in fish.

"Our results demonstrate an evolutionarily conserved function for thyroid hormone in regulating heart cell proliferation and suggest that loss of regenerative potential was a trade-off that allowed mammals to become warm-blooded," Huang said. "For early mammals, endothermy was more advantageous than retention of regenerative potential. But now, with medical improvements allowing us to live much longer, this loss of cardiac regeneration becomes more problematic and is a fundamental cause of heart disease."

This may be very good news for those who have heart trouble. If thyroid hormones could be used to trigger the repair mechanisms in higher order mammals then we may be able to help the heart repair itself.

Trump May Deny Dems Mueller Report

Timothy Birdnow

The Trump Administration may refuse to release details from the Mueller probe to House Democrats.

Democrats are salivating at the prospect of obtaining grand jury tesimony and other details from the Mueller probe, so as to further their own investigations of the President and his Administration. Republican Rep. Doug Collins thinks the Trump DOJ may not give it to them:

Democrats, who control the House of Representatives, want congressional investigators to have access to Mueller’s grand jury evidence and other information from the probe, fearing that Attorney General William Barr could release only a summary of Mueller’s report.

But Collins, the senior Republican on the House Judiciary Committee who met with Barr last week, told reporters that he expects any effort by Democrats to obtain such data from the Justice Department to end up in court, unless Mueller finds that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

"They have never released it, and we don’t expect that to happen again now,” said Collins.

Trump should instruct AG Bill Barr to release the summary with "nyah, nyah, nyah, nyaaaah, nyah!" on it!

AOC Delusional

Timothy Birdnow

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is completely delusional.

She says Ronald Reagan pitted white working people against minorities, for instance. The woman knows nothing about history; Reagan was accused of beingg only for the rich, and of not supporting the working class, but she apparently doesn't remember the old Democrat playbook. Back then the Dems supported blue collar whites.

She also says she is the person trying to restore America. From the article:

"I think the thing that is really hard for people to sometimes see is that when we are on this path of a slow erosion and a slow, slow, slow, just like move away from what we've always been, we'll be a hundred miles, you'll, you know you won't even realize that you've drifted a hundred miles," Ocasio-Cortez said. "So, when someone's talking about our core, it's like oh this is radical, but this isn't radical, this is what we've always been."

"It's just that now we've strayed so far away from what has really made us powerful, and just, and good, and equitable, and productive, and so I think all of these things sound radical compared to where we are but where we are is not a good thing," Ocasio-Cortez continued. "And this idea of like 10% better from garbage, is, shouldn't be what we settle for, it's like this like it feels like moderate is not a stance it's just an attitude toward life of like hmmm."

And she said America is, like, garbage...

So, the U.S. was a socialist state, with radical environmentalism, banned the internal combustion engine, had universal healthcare, guaranteed minimum income for all, even those who were unwilling to work, etc.

This is the current center of the Democratic Party - delusional, unwilling to accept reality, and simply making things up as they go along. Nice.

I wonder if some day Allie isn't going to wake up and realize how immature and childish she has been. She has all the earmarks of a rebellious teenager, only she should be well past this angry Valley Girl stage. But then, it's like, um, totally bogus, you know...

Gun Grab in Illinois

Timothy Birdnow

Gun grab, Big Brother in the Prairie State.

From the Belleville News Democrat:

Hastings is proposing to add new language to the state’s gun laws to require the Illinois State Police to confiscate firearms and ammunition from any person whose FOID card has been revoked. It would also require state police to report that person’s name to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

His proposal would also add several new categories of people who would be barred from owning guns in Illinois, including people who have outstanding felony warrants anywhere in the United States, people who are subject to an order of protection, people who have been dishonorably discharged from the military, and anyone who is a fugitive from justice.

It would additionally impose stricter reporting requirements on local governments and prosecutors to report to the state police the names and other identifying information of anyone who has been convicted of a crime or judged to have a mental condition that would disqualify them from owning firearms so the state police could forward that information to the national criminal background database.

What part of "...shall not be infringed" is so difficult for these jackbooted thugs in Springfield to understand?

There is pushback. According to Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association:

"Generally we don’t like the idea,” said Richard Pearson, executive director of ISRA.

Pearson noted there are many reasons why a person can have his or her FOID card revoked, including moving out of state, because FOID cards may only be issued to Illinois residents.

And for those whose cards are revoked because of their criminal history or mental illness, Pearson said there should be alternatives to having state police confiscate their guns and ammunition.

"First of all, they should be given an opportunity to turn them in or transfer them to another responsible party with a FOID card in Illinois,” he said.

And well he should not. It authorizes spying on the public. It authorizes simply grabbing people's firearms without due process. And what of this business about someone under felony indictment? These people have not been proven guilty, merely charged. And they may be charged with, say, felony contempt of court (for child support0 or tax evasion. And think about that order of protection business; if someone wanted to kill or rob a person they could get an order of protection first, thus disarming them.

This is nothing but a tawdry attempt to backdoor eliminate the Second Amendment.

Panic in Illinois that Illegals won't be Counted in Census

Timothy Birdnow

Illinois is desperate to turn out responses to the census. This is what happens when you become a sanctuary state.

From the article:

For every one person missed, according to the George Washington study, Illinois lost $953 in federal dollars.

In fiscal year 2015 alone, according to the same study, Illinois lost $123 million in federal funding for every 1 percent of the population not counted in 2010.

[...]

The census also determines state representation in Congress. Every 10 years, the federal government doles out congressional seats based on the size of each state’s population.

Illinois has been losing congressional seats since the 1930s, falling to its current number of 18. With the estimated state population declining over the last five years, however, Illinois is all but guaranteed to lose another congressional seat after 2020.

Illinois would also lose two electoral votes.

In point of fact, if you have people hiding in the shadows it is for a good reason, and it means you aren't entitled to those extra goodies. Illegal aliens don't mean you have more votes, or deserve more money.

If you welcome illegal aliens and transients this is what happens. Stop complaining.

Anti-Semitism and Victimhood -- two tools of Islamism

Dana Mathewson

Minnesota's disgraceful Congress-critter, Ilhan Omar, is claiming victim status now that she's being criticized for her anti-Semitic remarks in Congress. And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has disgraced herself by saying that Omar doesn't realize what she's saying. "What a maroon!"

Here's a splendid article on Fox News, by a Muslim woman, who explains just what's going on. I really believe this is a must-read!

Ilhan Omar is an anti-Semite who brands criticism of her as anti-Muslim bigotry – but she’s the real bigot

Rep. Ilhan Omar in unquestionably an anti-Semite, but cloaks herself in victimhood – portraying herself as a "Muslim under siege” unfairly attacked because of her religion. This is how Islamism – a hateful political ideology pretending to be a religion – operates.

Like Omar, I am a naturalized American Muslim woman of color. But unlike the Democratic congresswoman from Minnesota, I don’t hate Jews and I don’t hate the Jewish state of Israel.

I have studied the Koran and know it says Jerusalem belongs the Jews. The Koran devotes an entire chapter to the Children of Israel – and considers the Israelites to be a nation bestowed with special Divine favor.

And I know that Muslims, who are the majority population in 50 nations, should be able to accept tiny Israel as the only Jewish nation in the world. Muslim nations and their citizens would be far better off if they had normal diplomatic, trade and cultural relations with Israel. Many crave normalization.

Sadly, Democrats in the House of Representatives – led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California – were forced to capitulate Thursday to the false narrative peddled by Omar.

The Democrats watered down a resolution originally condemning anti-Semitism – a unique, genocidal hatred – into one condemning bigotry against a broad range of groups. Worse, they failed to sanction or condemn Omar for the vile hatred she has expressed repeatedly to the Jewish people and their national homeland.

Thursday’s House vote will continue to reverberate as a national disgrace.

Had a member of Congress repeatedly attacked Muslims in the way Omar has attacked Jews, he or she would have been rightly condemned and punished. Prestigious congressional committee assignments would have been taken away. And in that case it would have been perfectly appropriate for Congress to pass a resolution denouncing anti-Muslim xenophobia.

There is no reason not to react then same way when a House member embraces anti-Semitic tropes in her speech that have been responsible for discrimination, expulsion and mass murder of Jews for thousands of years

The Holocaust, which claimed 6 million innocent Jewish lives, took place within the lifetimes of millions of older Americans. And it was just in October that a gunman seething with hatred for Jews killed 11 of them at prayer in a Pittsburgh synagogue.

Anti-Semitic violence is not a thing of the past. Words are weapons and when the words are anti-Semitic they can be lethal, inspiring some individuals to take the next step and turn to violence against Jews.

[...]

When justifiably attacked for her repeated anti-Semitic comments and tweets, Omar quickly shapeshifted into citing victimhood based on her Muslim identity. This is the classic inversion practiced by Islamists who seek to be privileged as a religious minority in pluralist democracies – at the expense of denying other minorities the very privileges they claim.

Thus, the sentiment directed at Omar in response to her obscene and clearly defined anti-Semitism now becomes falsely labeled as "anti-Muslim bigotry.”

On the left and in much of the media, Omar was portrayed as the victim – not the attacker for her anti-Semitic rants.

But in reality, Omar deserved all the criticism she received. She invited it on herself by hateful comments that harmed millions of American Jews and America’s close and loyal ally Israel.

This is how Islamism operates. In plain view, by assuming the role of the persecuted minority and by seeking the protections and freedoms awarded to religions.

But Islamism warrants the scrutiny and skepticism we apply to political ideologies – especially ideologies that preach hatred and embrace terrorism and other forms of violence. We should think of Islamism not as a religion but as a political ideology and we should see Islamist Muslims as political ideologues.

[...]

As a Muslim woman, I certainly condemn all who blindly hate me and all my co-religionists. This is anti-Muslim xenophobia. But that should not make me or any other Muslim immune from criticism if I take actions that deserve criticism. We are all responsible for what we say and do in life.

This is a long article, and it covers a lot of ground. Please read it here: https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/ilhan-omar-is-an-anti-semite-who-brands-criticism-of-her-as-anti-muslim-bigotry-but-shes-the-real-bigot

Venezuela Is No Joking Matter

Dana Mathewson

Those of us who have been watching the trainwreck that once was the crown jewel of South America will find this article informative. Power Line's Steven Hayward is, if you didn't know already, a university professor who doesn't drink Kool-Aid.

Two of my favorite jokes about socialism come to mind with today’s news out of Venezuela that the electricity is out. The regime is claiming "sabotage,” and they may ironically be correct: the "sabotage” has a name, and that name is socialism.

Ronald Reagan loved telling a joke about the Soviet Union that he claimed was one the Soviets told themselves. One person asks another—”Is this it? Have we finally reached peak socialism?” To which the answer comes: "Oh no. Things are going to have to get a lot worse.”

The other joke, suddenly deadly accurate, is: "What did socialists use for light before candles?” Answer: "Electricity.”

As it happens, with the revival of socialism running at fever pitch here among Democrats in the U.S., I decided to dust off a book I’d never much read before: Ludwig von Mises 1922 classic, Socialism. I had always preferred reading Hayek to von Mises for a bunch of reasons, but my goodness is von Mises book suddenly right on the nose nearly 100 years after it was first published—more evidence that old books are important to keep on your reading list. I’m staggered by how good—and relevant to our present moment—is Mises capacious analysis, which even includes a long passage about feminism and how Capitalism was the actual motive force behind the modern liberation of women from being the chattel property of their husbands—a thought you won’t find recognized or welcome in many gender studies classes anywhere today.

I have a gift card from Barnes & Noble gathering dust. I think I now know what I need to redeem it on! The article is here, and I saved the good stuff for you. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/03/venezuela-is-no-joking-matter.php

The Bear Necessities

Timothy Birdnow

A little while back I wrote about polar bears in Novaya Zemla and how claims they were starving from Global Warming were untrue. WEll...

Here is an excellent article at Canada Free Press about polar bears, and how the alarmists are full of bear poo.

From the article:

There are now an estimated 25-35,000 polar bears in the Arctic with a sharp increase from the 2005 census that estimated between 20,000 to 25,000 bears.

Professor Susan Crockford is a world expert on polar bears. She sees the recovery of polar bear numbers as one of the great conservation success stories of our time. She says:

"Why is it so hard for environmental advocates and advocate scientists to accept that the unbridled slaughter [of polar bears] that went on in the past has been successfully halted? Why can’t they move on? The 1973 agreement that gave protection to polar bears worldwide is one of the great conservation success stories.”

And:

"We tend to hear nothing but alarming messages about the current status & welfare of polar bears from animal advocates including lobby groups and activist scientists.”

She was probably referring to activist scientists such as Dr. Lara Hansen from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). In 2004 Hansen foolishly said that bears in the Hudson Bay region could become so thin by 2012 they may no longer be able to reproduce.

She might also have been referring to Australia’s serial climate alarmist Dr. Tim Flannery who said:

"Climate change is driving polar bears into extinction.”

To find out what is really happening with polar bears Dr. Crockford has a website at: http://polarbearscience.com

The problem isn't starving bears but overpopulation, since they are now a protected species and are in heavy competition with each-other.

Stop the anti-climate science totalitarians

Paul Driessen

Democrats, climate campaigners and renewable energy interests are in full outrage mode over news that President Trump intends to launch a Presidential Committee on Climate Science. He should do it now.

The PCCS would, at long last, review and question the "dangerous manmade climate change” reports by federal agencies and investigations funded by them. The committee would be led by Dr. Will Happer, a highly respected scientist and well known skeptic—not of climate change, but of manmade climate chaos. He would be joined by other prominent experts—of whom there are many—who share his doubts.

Dems Vote to Allow Illegals to Vote

Timothy Birdnow

Coocoos, Nan, and Ali aka the House Democratic Leadership, have rejected the American People by supporting illegal voting

The Washington Times has the dope:

House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice.

The vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the chamber — then under GOP control — voted to decry illegal immigrant voting.

"We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in,” Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat and hero of the civil rights movement, told colleagues as he led opposition to the GOP measure. The

The 228-197 vote came as part of a broader debate on Democrats’ major legislative priority this year, HR 1, the "For the People Act,” which includes historic expansions of voter registration and access, as well as a major rewrite of campaign finance laws.

First, shame on Rep. Lewis; every time an illegal alien votes they steal the voting rights from citizens, who find their own votes overturned by people who are ineligible. How many African Americans are being disenfranchised by illegal alien votes? Lewis knows this, too, I suspect, but his party wants power and dosn't care what they have to do to steal it.

Second, this is called "For the People Act" but what people? Certainly not the AMERICAN Peole, who are being disenfranchised. No, it's for the "citizens of the World" and for the Democrats.

The article continues:

"It sounds like I’m making it up. What kind of government would cancel the vote of its own citizens, and replace it with noncitizens?” said Rep. Dan Crenshaw, Texas Republican.

He pointed to last year’s vote, when 49 Democrats joined the GOP to decry noncitizen voting.

On Friday just six Democrats voted in favor.

A 1996 federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but there is no prohibition on localities, and indeed a number of jurisdictions allow it, to some extent.

How long will that law remain on the books - or be obeyed - if local governments overrule it with impugnity? The Democrats know that.

I am a citizen. if non-citizens are allowed to vote in places, why can't I vote anywhere I please? For that matter, why can't I go to Congress and vote on issues with other House members? What right do they have to restrict their voting privileges to the elected few?

That is the essential logic here. Somehow I doubt Nan, the San Francisco Bleat, would agree to my caucasing (I suppose we could call the Right Privilege) with Republicans without the benefit of a certification of election. But she is happy to allow invaders, trespassers, people who steal from America, to vote in OUR elections.

This is an utter disgrace, but our in-the-tank media will be loathe to report it, so few will know about this betrayal of our nation.

Sweet Victory for Masterpiece Cake Shop

Timothy Birdnow

In a second attempt to get Masterpiece Cake Shop in Colorado, the Christian baker has finally won!

From Reason:

While that case was making its way up the courts, a transgender attorney contacted Phillips claiming she wanted to have a custom cake made to celebrate her identity, saying she wanted one with a blue exterior and pink interior.

Phillips also has religious objections to recognizing transgender identities, and so he declined to make the cake. The lawyer, Autumn Scardina, filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, who went after Phillips again. Phillips responded with a lawsuit of his own, arguing that the state was targeting him because of his religious beliefs.

Today, both the State of Colorado and Phillips have agreed to drop litigation in the case after the Commission said it would dismiss the complaint if Phillips dropped his lawsuit. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser seemed to realize this wasn't a test case that was going to lead to a different outcome:

"After careful consideration of the facts, both sides agreed it was not in anyone's best interest to move forward with these cases. The larger constitutional issues might well be decided down the road, but these cases will not be the vehicle for resolving them. Equal justice for all will continue to be a core value that we will uphold as we enforce our state's and nation's civil rights laws."

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece, wasn't looking to make a buck here but to force the Colorado Ministry of Lover, er, Civil Rights Commission, to back down. He did and he won and it is a huge victory.

I disagree with the author of this piece in a few fundamental ways. He says this is about free expression. It is not; it's about the free exercise of Religion, not about free speech, although the argument can be made for that as well. But the free exercise of religion is clearly at the heart of this, and the effort being made to force Phillips to bake - and decorate - cakes for gay weddings or transvestite celebrations is an attempt to force him to give up his religious beliefs. It is that simple.

I hope Phillips brings a suit against Autumn Scardina, the lawyer who filed his suit as a matter of pure harassment and should be punished. See, if you can't get 'em in the court the idea is to keep at 'em until they go bankrupts fighting the multiple attacks. That is a fine old liberal tradition and one being employed here. No doubt Goerge Soros has money supporting these assaults.

The Right needs to start using the courts in the same way. I think a lawsuit against this lawyer would be a good start.

Iran: Slip, Sliding Away...

Timothy Birdnow

Hey, maybe one of these holes will open and the 12th Imam is going to crawl out!

Geologist Says The Ground Is Sinking In 300 Regions Of Iran

There have been frequent reports in the past three years in Iran about the ground sinking and sinkholes appearing. Last year, the official news agency IRNA reported that in some areas the ground has subsided 54 cm or nearly two feet, which is 140 times the world standard considered critical.

Shahidi also said that from 43 cases of hazardous conditions in the world, 34 are in Iran.

Mismanagement of underground natural water reservoirs is a major cause of earth subsidence. In Iran shortage of water has led to the depletion of underground reserves, which in turn cause the earth to sink and in some cases big sinkholes to appear.

Maybe Iran is just moving closer to Hell? That's certainly where the Ayatollah Khomeini is residing at present...
