Here's a point to ponder; ever since Watergate the Democrats along with their media allies have gone after Republican Presidents using prosecutors to try to drive them out - or at lest destroy their reputations. This criminalizing disagreements on policy began with Nixon and has applied to every single Republican since.
Nixon had Watergate, a bumbling minor burglary. It was clear Richard Nixon did not give the order but he tried to defend his men, a loyalty that is praiseworthy at any other time. But not so here, and eventually Nixon was driven out of office. With Archibald Cox and then Leon Jaworsk, then Henry Ruth, then Charles Ruff hounding Nixon, the President's support eroded and eventually he resigned rather than be impeached.
This started a grand old tradition that has continued to this day.
Ronald Reagan, one of America's most beloved Presidents, was despised by the Democrats and Media and had to contend with the Iran Countra probe run by Lawrnce Walsh in 1096. This was clearly intended to get Reagan, and his eventual replacement George H.W. Bush. The probe ran well into the Bush term, and led to a number of high level indictments but failed to touch either President.
George W. Bush had to endure a special counsel investigation involving the Valerie Plame affair (in which the Administration was accused of "outing" a "covert" agent because her husband embarassed the Administration - a lie, since Plame had already outed herself, appearing in a calendar shoot "women of the CIA" and it turned out her husband's mission to Niger was something Plame herself suggested, obviously for political reasons. Oh, and everyone knew it was Richard Armitage who leaked the name to the media.) Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald tried to tie this to Bush, and managed to send an innocent man to prison on perjury charges when he already knew who had leaked the name.
And now we have Trump.
But what about the Democrats?
Well, Clinton was investigated for multiple crimes and was in fact found guilty in a court of law for perjury and obstruction of justice, paying a sizable fine and surrendering his law licence. Oh, and he was impeached, but a cowardly Republican Congress refused to remove him from office. The Clintons have had their hands in innumerable dirty deals, and the Democrats and media supported them solely because the could win.
But beyond the Clintons there have been nada. Nothing against Obama, or against Jimmy Carter, or Kennedy. Why is that? Because they were squeeky clean?
No, it's because Republicans try to win on the basis of their arguments and not stronarm their opposition. Liberals are tyrants, and they will use any method, foul or fair, to promote their power. Our side wants to convince people - theirs trick them or force the opposition from the fireld.
Remember this when anyone says the Democrats are the good guys. They think to cheat their opponents or use law to destroy them. Some good guys indeed!
