Court Bans Pipeline based on Dr. Suess

Timothy Birdnow

The Progressive Left has decided they will stop the trump Administration from doing anything, to make the Administration a sort of bad dream. Here is another example of that assertion; an appellate court has ordered the U.S. Forest Service to ban the building of a gas pipeline across national forest land. In the process, they cite Dr. Suess as part of their ruling.

I kid you not. "In a decision filed Thursday by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va., a three-judge panel declared the U.S. Forest Service "abdicated its responsibility to preserve national forest resources" when it issued permits for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline to build through parts of the George Washington and Monongahela National Forests and a right of way across the Appalachian Trail.

"This conclusion," they wrote in a unanimous judgment, "is particularly informed by the Forest Service's serious environmental concerns that were suddenly, and mysteriously, assuaged in time to meet a private pipeline company's deadlines."

The judges cited Dr. Seuss' The Lorax: "We trust the United States Forest Service to 'speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.'"

End excerpt.

Isn't it wonderful that we are now enforcing law based on the words of a children's book writer, a radical leftist children's book writer. That's what America needs; more pop-up book wisdom used as sources for American jurisprudence!

Oh, and one of the principle petitioners here was the Southern ENVIRONMENTAL Policy Center, apparently a Green spinoff of the hate group leftist Southern Poverty Law Center.

There are already 56 other pipelines crossing the Appalachian Trail. But these black robed Vlad Vladikoff's don't care about that; they want to deny the Administration any sort of authority to change Obama policy.

Oh, and it should be pointed out thatTheodore Geisele aka Dr. Suess, called himself "subversive as hell” the Lorax was banned as propoganda by a community in California. Just the kind of guy we should be quoting in our legal opinions.
