Hillary -- Yes or No?

We are once again inundated by articles from both sides about Miss Inevitability. Will she run again? Does she stand a chance. Will 2020 be her year? Etc., etc. There was an article by her toadie Mark Penn who said yes she will and she'll win. If you care to read it, you may look it up yourself.
Here's an article that's more to my liking and I hope yours. It explains why Hillary Will Never Be President, and it looks well thought out to me.
Yep. You can see what's coming and probably have already said it yourself.An op-ed published this week in the Wall Street Journal has ignited rumors of a potential 2020 presidential run for Hillary Clinton.
The piece discusses the different iterations of Hillary Clinton the public has seen over the past 30-plus years. But none of those versions became president and no matter how many times Clinton tries to reinvent herself she cannot change who she is at the core: inauthentic, unlikable and out of touch.
According to the op-ed by Mark Penn and Andrew Stein – headlined "Hillary Will Run Again†– Hillary Clinton 1.0 was a "universal-health-care-promoting progressive firebrand†in 1994 when she was first lady.
Hillary Clinton version 2.0 was a moderate when she successfully ran for the Senate and again when she lost in the Democratic presidential primaries to then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008.
In 2016, Clinton 3.0 was a progressive who moved further to the left because of her challenger for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. And Hillary Clinton version 4.0 will run for president in 2020 by returning to her roots as a progressive, Penn and Stein predict.
But the fact there have been so many different versions of Clinton is precisely the problem.
Clinton is inauthentic. Former Obama adviser and Democratic strategist David Axelrod nailed this point about Clinton and the 2016 election when he said: "Authenticity is a big factor and a leading indicator for candidates, and they have to be comfortable in their own skin. There is no one wishing that Donald Trump would speak his mind. Hillary Clinton has always been allergic to revealing herself, and when she does talk, it comes out through a political filter.â€
Clinton’s authenticity has also taken a major hit over the years because she changes policy positions depending on where the political winds are blowing. This gives the perception that she is not rooted in any core beliefs.

As secretary of state in 2012, she backed the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, even calling it the "gold standard.†However, she changed her position in 2016 while under scrutiny from Bernie Sanders on the left and candidate Trump on the right.
Clinton also has a likability problem. In an interview with the Washington Post, Democratic pollster Peter Hart put it this way: "I bring it down to one thing and one thing only, and that is likability.â€
The likability issue was also brought up during a 2008 Democratic primary debate in New Hampshire, when the moderator said voters were impressed by Clinton’s resume but were "hesitating on the likability issue.†Obama famously quipped that she was "likable enough†during the exchange.
Clinton is also out of touch. Her surprise pit stop to an Ohio Chipotle in 2015 while on the campaign trail demonstrated this. Despite it being a great opportunity for pictures with customers, she wore dark sunglasses in the restaurant. She couldn’t be bothered to speak with anyone.
Clinton’s infamous "basketful of Deplorables†comment also underscores this point. In response to her comment calling his supporters "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic,†Trump responded that Clinton showed "her true contempt for everyday Americans."

Operation Chokepoint pushed by FDIC

Operation Chokepoint, the Obama scheme to ruin businesses that he and his people didn't like, was promoted through the FDIC.
According to Forbes:
Last week brought new revelations regarding Operation Choke Point, the Obama administration’s effort to freeze politically disfavored businesses out of the financial system. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.), who helped lead a multi-year effort to shut the program down, highlighted some of theses newest findings and pointed out that stopping Operation Choke Point is not a partisan issue.
For those unfamiliar, Choke Point consisted of bureaucrats in several independent federal agencies taking it upon themselves to shut legal businesses – such as payday lenders and firearms dealers – out of the banking system. Given the nature of the U.S. regulatory framework, this operation was easy to pull off.
Officials at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), for instance, simply had to inform the banks they were overseeing that the government considered certain types of their customers "high risk.†The mere implication of a threat was enough to pressure banks into closing accounts, because no U.S. bank wants anything to do with extra audits or investigations from their regulator, much less additional operating restrictions or civil and criminal charges.
Later, in April 2013, Joel Sweet, a Justice Department official heavily involved in the initiative, emailed senior officials at the FDIC, the FTC, the CFPB and other federal agencies with "a simple and elegant idea about how to protect consumers from predatory PD lenders.†The idea involved banning banks from "originating debit transactions against the bank accounts of non-customer borrowers.â€

Accoster Acosta Sues Trump

Jim Acosta, after accosting an intern and screaming like a little baby, refusing to hand over his microphone after harassing the President, is now suing the president over the loss of his press credentials!
"The lawsuit is a response to the White House’s suspension of Acosta’s press pass, known as a Secret Service "hard pass,†last week. The suit alleges that Acosta and CNN’s First and Fifth Amendment rights are being violated by the ban.
The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning.
Both CNN and Acosta are plaintiffs in the lawsuit. There are six defendants: Trump, chief of staff John Kelly, press secretary Sarah Sanders, deputy chief of staff for communications Bill Shine, the director of the Secret Service, and the Secret Service officer who took Acosta’s hard pass away last Wednesday. The officer is identified as John Doe in the suit, pending his identification."

What Chutzpah! He's lucky he wasn't taken into custody by the Secret Service; his behavior at that press conference suggested a threat to the President of the United States and would have warranted his detention.
I hope there is something they can charge him with over this. There has to be some real punishment for this type of behavior. We cannot continue to have journalists and politicians openly supporting violence and harassment with no repercussions.

For those on the Right are not all that happy with losing the House of Representatives, I would suggest you read this essay from the leftist black newspaper The St. Louis American. The left is, if anything, more unhappy with the Democrats than we are with the Republicans.
Here is a taste:
"Dems seem to be clueless about how to select and support candidates (particularly those of color), how to value and engage their constituents, or how to strategically counter the red steamroller coming at us.
Thanks to tone-deaf Democratic Party leaders, key seats are being lost all over the country. Missouri is now flaming red with a supermajority Republican state assembly and governor. Only the state auditor prevails as the sole statewide Democratic elected official."

Maryland Dems sue over AG Appointment

In an unbelievable twist, the Democrats in Maryland are suing the Trump Administration to block his appointment of Matthew Whitaker as acting Attorney General.

"Maryland contends that President Donald Trump acted unlawfully in selecting Whitaker, whose prior role as chief of staff is not a Senate-confirmed position, over Rosenstein, who is Senate-confirmed as the deputy attorney general. The state said it will seek a preliminary injunction asking the court to recognize that Rosenstein, not Whitaker, is the appropriate defendant in an ongoing lawsuit challenging the Justice Department's position opposing certain parts of former President Barack Obama's health care law."

The Tenure of Office Act was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 1926 in Myers v. United States. (I wrote about that at American Thinker here. It had been repealed decades before. The Tenure of Office Act tried to stop President Andrew Johnson from hiring or firing his cabinet, forcing him to accept the people appointed by Abraham Lincoln.
Johnson was not elected but assumed the office of President when Lincoln was assassinated. Donald Trump was duly elected by the American People. There is absolutely no merit to this lawsuit, but no doubt this will go before an Obama appointee and will have to be appealed.
Question; if the Democrats did so well in this last election, and if the political winds are blowing in their favor, why fight this? Isn't this an unnecessary battle at this point? The fact is, the Democrats STILL must keep the pressure on the Trump Administration, to keep Trump impotent and to hopefully get enough dirt to impeach him in the next election. They cannot afford a strong Attorney General who will take action against their free-for-all behavior.
This shows clearly Trump did the right thing here

Professor sues over firing for using wrong Pronoun for "transgendered" Student

A philosophy professor has filed suit against Shawnee State University for firing him for refusing to call a man in a dress by "her" chosen pronoun.
Professor Nicholas Meriwether is suing the university for discriminating against his deeply held Christian beliefs. According to the article:
"The Alliance Defending Freedom, a prominent conservative judicial activist group that was designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, is assisting with the lawsuit.
The lawsuit says a student approached Meriwether after class when Meriwether responded to the student by saying, "Yes, sir†on Jan. 9,.
"In January 2018, a male student demanded that Dr. Meriwether address him as a woman because he identified as such and threatened to have Dr. Meriwether fired if he declined. To accede to these demands would have required Dr. Meriwether to communicate views regarding gender identity that he does not hold, that he does not wish to communicate, and that would contradict (and force him to violate) his sincerely held Christian beliefs,†the lawsuit says"

Bear in mind, thety declared the Family Research Council a hate group, as well as the ministry of D.James kennedy, clearly a mainstream ministry. Oh, and they they declared the Singing Nuns a hate group. Not sure why their attitude toward the professor's lawyers matter.
The good doctor tried to work out a compromise, by offering to call the student by his last name rather than use a pronoun. The student would not accept this, and in fact screamed in the Professor's face.
This is very much an assault on Christianity. Also from the article:

So-called "transgenderism" has no basis in objective science, but rather is an artificial creation of the modern Left to destroy the family and bludgeon Christianity. This professor is clearly a victim of the bullying tactics employed by modern Progressives to accomplish what they have long fantasized; destroy Christianity.
Also, methinks he (the student) doth protest too much. Why so angry? If he really IS transgendered meaning he is a woman in a man's body then he should take this in stride. That he is so jealous of "her" sexual misidentity speaks volumes. He obviously does not look like a woman, which says he doesn't take this THAT seriously or he would take more pains to look feminine (and thus avoid the whole problem). This student wants to have his cake and eat it too. In fact, I would argue his "self-identification" is purely a rebellious political statement and little more. He has no right to expect others to respect his personal quirks as representative of reality.
We must fight this.

Nietzche's Germany and Modern America

Our old friend Daren Jonescu is a Professor of Philosophy and a fan of Heinrich Nietzche. I've not liked Nietzche myself, largely because of his biting anti-Christian sentiments and his views on "The Will". Be it noted Nietzche went mad at the end, the result of gazing into an abyss without the safety harness of the Holy Spirit to protect him. But Nietzche was more subtle than he is often portrayed, and while the Nazis embraced elements of Nietzchism as it was beneficial to them, the fact is they failed to understand the German thinker in a fundamental way. Nietzche was far more clever than the brutish National Socialists could ever understand.
He clearly wouldn't have approved of them. Doubt that? Daren posts an entire essay of Nietzche at his website, and I urge everyone to read it in it's entirety. See it here.
The thing about it is it is written about Germany, but it sounds very much like the modern United States. Frighteningly so. While I strongly urge the reader to read the entire essay (it is short) I would like everyone to ponder some of these passages.

Time to Disenfranchise Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Speaking as someone whose late father lived 300 yards from the center of the 2000 Presidential Election recount, the West Palm Beach Century Village Clubhouse, I totally agree with the author. Speaking as someone whose late father lived 300 yards from the center of the 2000 Presidential Election recount, the West Palm Beach Century Village Clubhouse, I totally agree with the author. Searching For and Finding The Backpacks For Life Tailgate Party Outside a New York Jets Home Game

Backpacks for Life, the charity I'm involved with that helps homeless veterans in the New Jersey-New York area and beyond, held a fundraising and tailgate party in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium this Veterans Day Sunday, as the New York Jets were about to face the Buffalo Bills. There were over one hundred other tailgate parties, both individual and those created by organizations. Without knowing the exact location, I got off the bus from New York City and started my search on a nice and sunny, mid-fall day.
Now tailgate parties at a major NFL stadium cam be a literal pain in the neck. I know this because someone playing catch in the parking lot hit the back of my spine just above my shoulders with a soft throw of a football. Earlier, when I first arrived at the stadium, I saw an official looking Jets Fan Bus - a meetup point for Backpacks For Life, and thought "this will be easy to find." Not quite. After walking down a long line of tailgate parties extending from the bus, being offered roast beef and having my requests to have someone use their cell phone to call the contact number for BFL denied, I trudged on through the sea of tailgate parties that resembled ancient Roman army campfires. About twenty minutes or so later I spotted a mini-tent flying a Jets flag with a U.S. Marine Corps Anchor and Globe flag directly below it. I figured the people there would help me. I was right.
When I explained to two women standing next to a small group of the Marines in camouflage jackets about my plight, wanting to find a veterans' charity listed on the business card I showed them, one of the women got out a smartphone and called - but got no connection. They even used the www.backpacksforlife.org website to send an email to co-founder Brett D'Alessandro, all to no avail. I thanked them for their efforts and they offered me a cold beer - which I took - before I continued on my search.
Trudging on further, past a row of buses to now widen the circle of my search, I eventually found the mini-tent of Backpacks For Life and met up with Brett and once again met his parents to catcht up with recent events with everyone. Brett solved the mystery of why I couldn't make a cell phone connection with him earlier. He had been on an appearance at Fox News which resulted in BFL getting a flood of phone calls. This, I suspected, filled up his voice mail minutes 'til there were no more. You can see why the Fox News spot got such a response by watching that video here. Alexa Modero, Backpacks for Life's co-founder, was out of town attending a wedding this day.
Brett and his family were also selling t-shirts and caps and there were also representatives of Hotseat were there selling stadium warming seat pads. Looking around, I heard loud rock music blaring from speakers and saw the accompanying party provided by participating businesses and also the Jets fan "magical" bus. And there was a barbecue with hamburgers, hot dogs and even an entire roasting pig - head and all - turning on a mechanical spit. Beer was supplied by Hoboken Brewing, a young craft beer company located just across the Hudson River from New York City. Talking to the brewery's co-owner, Andrew Zebrowski, I (and others) were offered a choice of two types their brews. I drank their coconut-infused blonde ale as we talked about his family and mine. I'll just say here that he also named his young son Jack.
Shortly after the game started, as Brett and his family literally folded their tent and packed up to leave the MetLife Stadium parking lot, I said my goodbyes to everyone and started walking the distance across the outside width of the stadium parking lot back to the bus stop. That's when I got hit with football in the back of the neck. It was a mild incident. No apologies were asked for and none were given.
But the Jets had a much bigger pain in the neck that day, losing to the Buffalo Bills 41-10. You could say that New York won that day, the Buffalo Bills being the only team with a stadium in New York State. I guess those Jets fans that prayed and wished for New York to win should have worded their their requests more precisely. But these gatherings in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium were not full of English teachers, not by a long shot. I don't think English teachers would have offered a complete stranger such as myself free roast meat and beer.
