The mantra 'if you are vaccinated you are less likely to end up in hospital or dead', was invented by desperate spin doctors. It was clear to blind Freddie the vaccinations were not as good as promoted at stopping infections so 'vaccine hesitancy' had to be approached differently.

Which is why even in populations where 90% are vaccinated, and because of vaccine passports, where 100% of the patrons in a particular venue are vaccinated, they still have to wear a mask!

So they tell you are less likely to be hospitalised or die.

They avoid telling you the only people being hospitalised or dying (with rare exceptions) are the frail elderly, or those with serious co-morbidities.

Healthy people are not at risk of hospitalisation or dying. Therefore they do not need a vaccine to save them from that. Especially given the vaccine exposes them to potential adverse reactions.

Then they try to justify vaccine mandates by saying it 'keeps us all safe', or 'keeps grandma safe' etc. The problems with that is:

- Clearly the vaccine doesn't stop infection or being infectious. Therefore the vaccine mandate is unjustified for the purpose of keeping us all safe.

- It is morally and medically ethically wrong, to force or coerce a person to have a medical procedure which is to benefit others, not the individual.

- A person is not giving informed consent to a vaccine if they have been deliberately misled about the benefits of the vaccine for them and the risks involved.

- Children are legally incapable of giving informed consent.

So when you read or hear the vaccine reduces the chance of hospitalisation or death, just remember they aren't referring to healthy people which includes most children. Even though they like to make you think Covid-19 is equally dangerous for all.

It is correct to say that if you are a frail elderly person, or have serious co-morbidities such as obesity, diabetes, heart, lung or kidney problems, then the vaccine is likely to reduce your chances of hospitalisation or death.

1 Good points. And comforting to people like me, who is elderly (79) with a comorbidity (Type II Diabetes, though my recent blood readings have been below the diabetic range). I have COVID, though the only way you'd know it is that my sinuses are a little stuffy so my voice sounds slightly different. Oh, yes, I got the Pfizer jabs (2 of 'em) -- the ones that the manufacturer now says aren't so good. My wife has pretty much recovered from her case of COVID (I'm sure I got mine from her) and life is proceeding normally. I'm medicating normally: Bourbon after supper while watching TV. Takes a strong virus to win against THAT!

2 Dana, the bourbon is no doubt a fine idea. But you should try some gin and tonics, and take zinc. Tonic water and zinc are a huge benefit to Covid. I was listening to a doctor on the radio explain that. Quinine and Hydrochloroquine are related, apparently, and both provide a needed nutrient which, when coupled with zinc, helps you heal from Covid.

Now me, I'll take my medice with gladness and thanksgiving! But I like cocktails; I know you are more of a straight up kind of guy.

3 But tonic water's full of sugar, which is "contra-indicated" for diabetics. Granted, my numbers are low enough that I could handle it, but it would take up crucial room in my downstairs refrigerator.

But maybe I should get some for Martha. She's not back to snuff yet.
