Arguing with Idiots, Ukraine and Oil Edition

Timothy Birdnow

In a discussion on the Ukrainian invasion, a dim witted fellow named Jeff Charles pontificated:

You have no idea what Putin would have done. Quite possibly invaded while chump sat back and ate popcorn like in the insurrection but it us all speculation.
Chump had problems like all presidents highest unemployment in us history highest deficits.

Naturally this couldn't go unanswered.
Mark McDougall retorts:

Then you haven't been watching. Putin was ready for war since Obama, Nuland & CIA orchestrated the overthrow of the Ukraine govt in 2014.

TRUMP stopped anything happening, just as he settled NK down, had Arab nations signing peace deals with Israel, killed off ISIS & tried (against treasonous Pentagon warmongers) to get the US out of the Middle East.

Only the wilfully blind would think Trump would sit back & let anything happen to the USA.

Remember, Pee-pads sent knee-pads into Ukraine to taunt Putin with NATO membership & pretty much forced Russia to invade. Then a few weeks later they sent knee-pads back to Poland (& Boris) to Ukraine) to stop the peace talks that were about to happen.

None of that would have happened under Trump - Putin ONLY invaded because US/NATO broke the 93 agreement AGAIN ( the coup was the 1st time) & piss-weak pee-pads was 'in charge' & he had evidence from Afghanistan as to just HOW traitorous pee-pads is.

But go ahead & blame Trump for the traitors who funded & released the v1ru5 that caused the economic issues. Go ahead & ignore that, even so, the economy of the US was well back into recovery mode when the election was stolen by liars, cheats, criminals & treasonous politicians.

Mr. Charles replies:

Pretty obvious to any thinking persons there was no forced coup of Ukraine as they sure as hell have not greeted the Russian invaders as saviors. It would have bern easy to surrender if that was their wish

Mark responds:

Pretty obvious to any thinking person there WAS a coup in Ukraine. The evidence is still to be found, that's how much contempt Dems have for people like you who will not look or listen.

Nuland & CIA planned, recruited, funded & ran the coup because Yanukovich looked at World Bank offerings of aid & all the attached conditions & chose to take aid from Russia who had almost no conditions other than pay it back.

So they orchestrated the coup, removed him & put Nazis in power. They like putting enemies of humans in power, just like they handed Libya to Al Qaeda & Afghanistan to Taliban.

But feel free to continue your non-real version of history read to you by CNN.

Jeff Charles sneers:

If your fantasy pukin propaganda was true the Ukrainians would have welcomed pukin’s invasion as a liberation. Very obvious after a year of intense fighting the Ukrainians do not want pukin’s "help”

I step in:

Jeff Charles, you are an amazing font of misinformation.

Putin wouldn't have had the money to invade Ukraine because oil prices were low and would remain so under Trump. It was Biden and his green dreams that drove the price up and gave Russia a windfall to spend on this war.

Trump would never have allowed it to reach this point; he would have imposed strict sanctions before Russia made a move. Biden didn't, saying he couldn't do anything until Russia actually was in country there.

Mark is right; the CIA fomented the Orange Revolution to kick out the pro-Russian President Yushchenko. There really isn't much debate about that.

The government there has been horribly corrupt ever since, a piggybank for ill-gotten goods for corrupt politicians in the West.

And your supposition that Trump would have let this happen is ridiculous; numerous wars ended because Trump carried a big stick. He also knew how to talk to Putin in a way that made the Russian oligarch know he couldn't get away with anything.

You fail to mention there was a pleibescite in Dunbas https://www.workers.org/2022/10/67420/ that voted for annexation to Russia. the same happened in Crimea years before.https://www.cbsnews.com/news/crimeans-vote-overwhelmingly-to-secede-from-ukraine-join-russia/

You say "If your fantasy pukin propaganda was true the Ukrainians would have welcomed pukin’s invasion as a liberation." well, isn't that exactly what happened there? Or in Crimea? The Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine were not happy with the plantation government there. They were being squeezed. Ukraine was in the process of banning Russian language as an official language for the country, and was going to force the Great Russian minority to learn and use Ukrainian. They were systematically purging all Russian culture. You seem ignorant of that fact.

You also seem ignorant of the fact that the Ukrainians had been shelling Russians in Crimea for years without retaliation (and this with Russia complaining to the U.N.) and they cut off the water of the Dneiper river to cause a drought.

But, like Russia big poopey head!

BTW you sound like a teenager using "Pukin"; if you want your opinion to be taken seriously you will refrain from such juvenility.

Charles retorts:

It is called a pandemic prices dropped as the world stayed home and rose coming out as everyone expected. Putin’s attack in Ukraine and Sanctions added in. Chump had the highest unemployment In recorded US history and the highest deficits in US history

I respond:

Wrong in the entirety Jeff Charles. Oil and gas prices had hatdropped well before the pandemic and you would know that if you bothered to look up the statistics.

I hate to tell you but people were driving a lot during the pandemic, often because they had nothing better to do.

The rise in oil and gas prices did NOT occur until after Biden took office.

And so? Less use would mean a glut on the market, not a shortage as you seem to think. Especially here in the U.S. where we were producing enough oil for our needs.

Even if we accept what you claim is true, which a casual look at oil prices which spiked immediately after Biden took office disproves, then so what? Biden took no action to lower prices. No, on the contrary he took punitive actions against oil companies to further drive up the prices. He investigated oil companies for "price gouging" when prices spiked.

Eventually Biden was forced to honor the agreements made with oil companies for drilling on government land, which has helped ease the problem to a degree (and that because the courts so ordered it) but left to his own devices he would still have the drilling bans in place.

He has not stopped assaulting the funding of oil and gas, nor has he done anything to restore investor confidence as he keeps babbling on with his Green fantasies.

I hate to tell you but Trump had some of the lowest unemployment in history. You are being dishonest, counting the shut down as "unemployment" when in fact Blue State governors shut their economies down. These people were not "unemployed" except by act of government and you know it. This is a dishonest claim.

And to say Biden "created" jobs is a farce; these are the jobs these people had coming back.

Had Trump been re-elected you would be screaming this very thing.

And to criticize Trump for the deficit is woefully hypocritical as the House of Representatives
holds the purse strings and they gave us that defecit. I don't let the GOP off the hook (nor Trump, who never should have signed any of those bills) but he's a piker compared to Biden.

If you are going to argue at least do so with some solid facts and not media-spun fantasies.

Jeff Charles fires back:

Republicans and one republicrat refused to pass a windfall gas tax. Demand globally drastically dropped during the pandemic. Inflation rose globally after. Oil companies had real issues but also took advantage.
There are two leaders inclined to encourage a dictatorship in the US happy with high prices Pukin and Salman also mad at Biden for encouraging electric cars But Pukin’s third land grab invasion would have occurred in any case.

Tim replies:

Jeff Charles How, pray tell, does a new tax on oil increase supply and drop prices?

How, pray tell, does decreased demand for oil increase prices?

Jeff Charles you are woefully malinformed about how economics work.

Inflation rose because of supply chain problems to a degree, but mostly because the Federal Reserve drastically increased the money supply during the pandemic to pay for the gargantuan relief funding. The inflation issue is a monetary issue.

The Biden Administration had to borrow over 4.2 TRILLION dollars from the Federal Reserve, who had no choice but print more money. The Fed asset balance rose from 4 trillion That is the root of inflation. In fact, it's gone higher than that, over 6 trillion as of now. M2, is more than $21.6 trillion, up from $15.5 trillion in February 2020. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/02/06/federal-reserve-inflation-money-supply/

They increased the M2 supply by 26% in 2021 alone to pay for Biden's spending spree. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-money-boom-is-already-here-11613944730 In '20 and '21 the Fed increased the money supply by a whopping 42%. https://www.fb.org/market-intel/inflation-and-money

As of 2021 the Biden Administration had blwn $4 TRILLION. https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/26/politics/6-trillion-stimulus-where-it-went and the Fed balance sheet is now 8.58 trillion as of 2022.

Biden has spent money on an unprecedented scale. https://reason.com/2022/11/29/bidens-spending-spree-is-unprecedented

This increase in money is solelyt to pay for the gargantuan spending advocated by the Biden Administration. It is not about the war in Ukraine, nor some mythical spike in oil prices. Those oil prices make it worse, but whose fault is that? Biden is the guy who decided to wage war on oil and gas. Biden did indeed say during the debate he would "transition" from oil and gas. https://fee.org/articles/did-joe-biden-really-say-he-d-close-down-the-oil-industry/ and he had promised to do so prior to that. https://t.co/UBqPJT85Pt

As to your complaint the oil companies took advantage, well duh! What do you think they are going to do when being squeezed? They aren't in business to lose money, contrary to what liberals such as yourself seem to believe. And as they didn't have funding or real prospects for pumping the money back into the business they went for the profit now. It's what companies do. They can pay their investors a dividend and maybe those investors will invest more in the company. Certainly givern the way Biden has squeezed them, attacking their lending sources, pressuring investment companies to disinvest in them, etc. you cannot blame the companies for doing this.

You show by saying Putin is mad at Biden for encouraging electric cars that you don't know what you are talking about. Putin and the Russians have been funding the Green movement to get the West to move to EV's. https://www.newsweek.com/putin-funding-green-groups-discredit-natural-gas-fracking-635052 He wanted this to kill fracking. See also https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-biden-makes-statement-on-oil-company-profits-in-the-face-of-high-gas-prices-at-the-pump and https://thehill.com/opinion/energy-environment/596304-investigate-russias-covert-funding-of-us-anti-fossil-fuel-groups/

Putin wouldn't have invaded if he didn't have the money to do it, Jeff. I guess you don't understand that. Do you go on vacation when you are broke? Putin ended his invasion of Georgia in '08 because he ran out of money. https://pjmedia.com/blog/timothy-birdnow/2008/10/24/drill-here-drill-now-helped-end-russia-georgia-war-n18506

I'm sorry Jeff buy you are wrong on every particular here. I would suggest you stop listening to the mainstream media and actually research these things yourself. Go beyond page one of a Google search too. (Try Bing or Duck Duck Go).
