Trump Reduced Influence of "Fake News Hunters"

These taskforces - ostensibly designed to fight foreign interference in our elections - are instead primarily a tool designed to shut conservatives mouths.

Nobody has ever alleged that the Russians changed a single vote, but rather that the claim is "disinformation" which, as it turns out, is just another word for free speech, or at least it used to be. See, the Democrats refused to believe people rejected their Leftist vision and Hillary Clinton, so they have created the bogeyman of "Russian meddling" to explain why they lost.
These programs served the purpose of putting Americans back in the pockets of Big Media. That was their entire goal.

Given the censorship on Facebook and Twitter and other social media platforms as well as at Google, I welcome any and every opportunity to get contrary information. If it takes the Russians to get word out so be it! This is America, not Goebbles Germany.
Don't doubt it; this site fell drastically in traffic after Google changed their algorithms to stop "fake news" even though our news comes from credible sources elsewhere. And we receive zero funding from anywhere. But that didn't stop the masters of the internet from largely dropping us down the electronic black hole. Ditto other conservative sites like The Gateway Pundit, who was once near the top for news sites but is now nearly impossible to find on Facebook or Google searches. See, they didn't LIKE the content, so they banned it.

"The clear assessment from the intelligence community is that 2020 is going to be the perfect storm,†said a DHS official familiar with the teams. "We know Russia is going to be engaged. Other state actors have seen the success of Russia and realize the value of disinformation operations. So it’s very curious why the task forces were demoted in the bureaucracy and the leadership has not committed resources to prepare for the 2020 election.â€
