The Roots of Modern American Disorder

Timothy Birdnow

Saul Alinsky is the godfather of the modern Progressive radicalism, and has been the guiding force for most left-wing activism in the last forty years. Rules for Radicals is the Bible of revolution, and is at the heart of most of what the Left does in America these days. Hillary Clinton was a huge fan, and Barack Obama actually taught a course in Alinsky.

In Rules for Radicals the revolutionary is admonished:

6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." They'll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They're doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
7. "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag." Don't become old news.
8. "Keep the pressure on. Never let up." Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.

Alinsky is the common thread binding the disparate communities of liberals together. The mainstream media (the propaganda arm) and the Democratic Party, the RINO Republicans, academia and the entertainment industry, all share a common heritage in Alinsky. Hillary Clinton was an Alinskyite, as was barack Obama. Whenever liberals do anything their actions can be understood by analyzing the Rules; it is their primary playbook.

The many seeming retreats of the liberal Establishment in recent days has puzzled a good many observers on the Right, and opinions seem to be all over the map about what it all means. Why is Harvey Weinstein falling now, for instance? Why is the Uranium One scandal breaking at the same time that the "Russian Collusion" story seems to be imploding, with evidence of foreign collusion on the part of the Hillary camp coming to the fore? While the mainstream media is lukewarm about covering these things, it is clear they ARE covering them and not simply ignoring them. Why is Antifa waging urban warfare? Why is the NFL being bullied by anti-American players who refuse to stand for their country and their country's anthem?

These things are not separate, but are intertwined and grow out of the radical playbook. I quoted three of the Rules for Radicals above to explain part of it. Much of the problem the Democrats face stems from a primary source - the Clinton crime syndicate - or at least many on the Left believe that to be the case. Hilary is old news - very old news - and yet she remains a very dangerous and powerful political figure in the Democratic Party. She won't be silent and won't go away, and the Party faithful desperately wish she would. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/336172-dems-want-hillary-clinton-to-leave-spotlight Hillary has become an enormous drag on the electoral chances of the Democrats and they know it. She won't voluntarily leave, nor will her underlings. She must be forced out; she has become a drag.

The smarter Democrats and their intellectual mentors know this.

But taking Hillary down could seriously damage the Democrat's chances in the next election, and perhaps even in the Presidential election in 2020. Timing on this is everything.

Hillary has to be taken down now, so there is time for the public to forget and their electoral chances to heal. If she can be made to understand that she's finished now the Democrats will still likely pick up seats (as is almost universal in an off-year election for the party out of power) but if this goes into the next election cycle it could be catastrophic for the Democrats.

So now is the time to let this stuff out. If Hillary goes down well and good, and if she doesn't there is time for the public to forget. Notice everything seems to be breaking at once; that is a standard media trick to overwhelm the public's attention and minimize damage. It’ll give the Republicans some campaign juice but will be characterized as "old news" by the next election. And if Hillary does step aside the Dems can start to groom some new Trojan Horse candidate.

Meanwhile, the Russian Collusion meme has run it's course and is now a drag. Something new must take it's place. So the media is going to allow its line of attack to die and replace it with something new. Being typical uncreative liberals they will go back to their book of dirty tricks and bring out sexual harassment. It's always worked against the GOP, and it has its roots in other Alinsky tactics (such as pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it) and Trump appears susceptible to such an attack thanks to the Billy Bush Access Hollywood tape. But the tape failed to have its desired effect prior to the election, so a new strategy must be employed, and that requires sacrificing some rooks and bishops and perhaps even the Queen to get the opposing king aka Donald J. Trump. There must be a renaissance of moral outrage against sexual misbehavior, and that means giving up some of their own. To take down Trump they must take down some of the scummier friends of their movement.

Make no mistake about it; Harvey Weinstein is an indirect attack on Donald Trump.

And the old Russian story has won over a number of people, those who don't pay attention. For a year the press claimed this as a fact, and it's established as truth in the mind s of many. No more minds will be poisoned at this point, so it is worth dropping. And it is beneficial to drop it on Hillary. Also, the media needs to recapture some credibility by reporting the truth. I suggest that they've known all along that the Hillary camp paid for the "Golden Shower" dossier that was used to launch this whole sordid attack on the legally elected President.

So where doe the NFL protests and the riots by Antifa come in?

In 1966 two radicals and disciples of Saul Alinsky, Richard Clowen and Francis Fox Piven, wrote a missive in the leftist magazine The Nation entitled "The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty". David Horowitz's Discover the Networks has this to say:
http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/Articles/theclowardpivenstrategypoe.html

"Their article called for "cadres of aggressive organizers" to use "demonstrations to create a climate of militancy." Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of "a federal program of income redistribution," in the form of a guaranteed living income for all -- working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act. This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements -- mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown -- providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory."

end excerpt.

Thus Black Lives Matter and the riots in Ferguson and Baltimore and elsewhere were allowed to burn to ignite this "overwhelming of the system". The media has continued to promote these so-called "protests" to dispirit Conservatives as well as the average Joe in flyover country, thus being amenable to the "fix" they propose. They give Colin Kaperneck lots of good press when he insults the nation and the fans of the NFL, thus encouraging more players to do likewise. The NFL is afraid to stop the kneelers because they fear the media backlash and the threats of further protests against them by BLM/Antifa types as well as concussion lawsuits filed at the behest of the media. So the NFL surrenders to thugs, and the ultimate goal of the media is to keep the pressure on, to punish Joe Sixpack, the guys who voted for that SOB Donald J. Trump. Eventually they may repent so as to get their football games back. Or so the thinking goes.

It should be pointed out, too, that Cower and Piven backed a guaranteed minimum income, the very thing being promoted by many in the Establishment these days.

Ultimately almost everything we see in the news these days ties in with Alinskyite tactics. So many on our side seem confused by these issues, but they really are all simple and all interconnected. If you understand the Progressive playbook you can understand the details.

Donald Trump presents a real danger to them because he does not follow the basic rules that have governed politics for decades. Trump punches back. This is unacceptable because the Alinsky rules only work if you follow the basic rules of conduct set by your own organization. "Make your enemy live up to his own playbook" is one of the key rules Alinsky has pushed, and yet Trump will not live up to the GOP basic rulebook. That is why they are so enraged at him. And they are willing to make some serious sacrifices to bring him down, including surrendering Hillary and Weinstein and a host of other good soldiers for the greater cause. Keep all this in mind when reading the news these days.
