Pyrric Victory if Kavanaugh is Confirmed?

Timothy Birdnow

While we all have been vociferously defending Brett Kavanaugh, I will point out that there is cause for concern about him; he's an insider man, a guy who has spent his whole life worming his way into the Establishment.

Cliff Kinkaid warned about Kavanaugh and Robert Mueller in the same article back in August:

"But the real target is the Supreme Court. As incredible as this may sound to those who have been sold on his nomination, the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court will guarantee a Deep State victory over Trump. He is a Washington insider who attends a liberal Catholic parish and can't be counted on to reverse the cultural damage done by decades of liberal judicial supremacy."

[...] "Another problem for Trump is White House counsel Donald F. McGahn, another Washington insider who was cooperating with Mueller until the New York Times published a story about his 30 hours of "voluntary" interviews with the Russia-gate prosecutor. President Trump claims McGahn is not a John Dean-style "rat," and that he, Trump, knew all about those interviews. (John Dean was the insider in the Nixon White House who worked with outside forces to bring down the Nixon presidency.) But since Trump, by his own admission, turned out to be wrong about his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, how can he be confident about McGahn?

McGahn has already done a lot of damage by prolonging the Mueller investigation. He threatened to resign if Trump fired Mueller. Then he (and Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy) convinced Trump to pick Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a member of a liberal Washington, D.C. Catholic parish, for the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh, who was picked over other candidates who were more conservative and pro-Constitution, worked for President Bush, covered-up for the Clintons in the Vincent Foster death inquiry, and ruled for Barack Hussein Obama on matters involving Obamacare and protecting the massive surveillance powers of the National Security Agency (NSA)."

[...]

"Despite claims that he is somehow a constitutional conservative, Kavanaugh has stated clearly that he will obey "precedent" and uphold the Supreme Court's pro-abortion and pro-homosexual rulings handed down by Anthony Kennedy, the "Catholic" Justice for whom he was a law clerk and whose seat he wants to fill. He has told liberal Republican Senator Susan Collins and others that the pro-abortion Roe v. Wade decision, which has led to 60 million abortions, is "settled law." Of course, Soros-funded groups are organizing against Kavanaugh. But I believe they are going through the motions of opposition in a dialectical maneuver designed to force conservatives in line behind him.

The ploy has worked. In the same way conservatives praised Mueller as a man of honesty and integrity, they are now praising Kavanaugh. They have produced dozens of big names from the conservative community supporting him. But we could have had a much better nominee, such as Judge Amy Coney Barrett."

End excerpts.

Be sure to read the entire essay; Kincaid makes some powerful points.

I would also point out that my initial reaction to the Kavanaugh nomination was less than enthusiastic. I wrote:

"So now the Orange Peril has chosen his nominee to stand athwart history and shout "stop" (or shout Yipee! depending on how this nomination turns out) and the big C Conservative movement - compromising the Innermost sanctum of the District of Columbia and the big monied class - has collectively interjected "Huzzah!" or "good show old boy!- or the other acceptable jubilant ejaculations that do not bespeak low breeding - we must ask if the newly nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh is really the second coming of Scalia or is he the David Souter redoux. Well, maybe not Souter, but is he going to be the acolyte of the Founding Fathers or just another tinhorn tyrant with a gavel. While almost all of the conservative movement - including almost all of the radio talk show hosts and online authors - think this is Scalia II, son of Scal, and while I hope it is true, I am going to look at this with a critical eye. In point of fact I see a lot of red flags with this guy, and I want to throw a little cold water on the inebriated conservative olest we all wind up weeping in our morning after alka-seltzer. First, Cavanaugh is the swampiest of swamp rats, a lifelong inhabitant of the filthy marshes of human debris on the Potomac. Both his parents were lawyers (his mother, a public school teacher, became a lawyer as he was growing up in Bethesda, Md.) and so it seems likely hizzoner suffers from the malady of legal thinking, which means that he is incapable of actually seeing a thing for what it is. Lawyers do that, complicate the simple and obscure the obvious. A child of two lawyers is a very special breed, something that should not be allowed to happen. Inbreeding is at work, metastasizing the already onerous gene. While the urbane Washingtonian swamp creature generally mocks and disdanes inbred hill folk, the fact is that so many of them are intellectually no different, carrying the exact same intellectual hillbillism (to coin a phrase) into the halls of government. A man whose mother was a public school teacher turned lawyer and judge and whose father was a D.C. lawyer amd head of a toiletry association. is a man without any real depth of character, a creature whose entire existence has always been dependent on the system. That is not a healthy condition."

End excerpt.

I pointed out that Son of Scal is a Yale man (with my best impression of Thurston Howell III) and was a chum of Elena Kagan, who had hired him to teach law at that other citadel of Satan, Harvard. I suspect he was in Skull and Bones at Yale, the uber-fraternity that thinks it owns the United States and has Presidents and Senators and judges to prove it. (There's no knowing for sure since the Bonesmen don't publish membership rosters and are very secretive.)

George W. Bush and Kavanaugh were both members of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Yale, and Bush was a Bonesman, so it seems likely Kavanaugh may have been as well.

It seems likely to me that Kavanaugh will be at best a moderate. Here is my reasoning.

So, while the Soros rent-a-mob tries to lynch Old Kav, and the Democrats make hay to get out the vote in November, in the end I suspect Kavanaugh will not be all that and a bag of chips.

That's not to say we don't need to fight for him, and that we should allow this to proceed. Running away like scared rabbits is not a healthy pastime in war or politics. Kavanaugh is the president's pick, and we must stop the Democrats from using a vile accusation to destroy him, even if we don't think that highly of him.

Oh, and it bears remembering that Rod Rosenstein asked for Federal Prosecutors to intervene in the Kavanaugh nomination. Prosecutors. Ostensibly this was to help in vetting Mr. Kavanaugh, but why wouldn't he use the FBI?

What did Rosenstein's posse find? A woman named Christine Blasey Ford, perhaps?

This whole thing is a lot deeper and darker than I suspect anyone realizes.
