Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender tweeted.
What is the purpose of government? The Bible gives us a pretty thorough answer; it holds the "power of the sword" to "punish evildoers". It is NOT to provide a living, or to pay for college tuition, or provide health care, or to do any of the things we now think is the purpose of governments. It's not even about printing money or providing clean water. The fundamental purpose of government is law. It is intended to make people secure so as to provide all these things for themselves without fear of having it taken away. State and local governments are supposed to provide that with some form of police. It could be a professional force or a local sheriff, but security is THE reason for government's existence. The Federal government's purpose is the same, albeit keeping us secure from foreign entities rather than domestic.
This illustrates how completely bass-ackwards our modern thinking has become; the city council president in Minneapolis thinks it is "white privilege" to ask government to actually do what it is supposed to do. At the same time, this woman undoubtedly believes in social welfare programs and wants the government doing things that were never intended.
In other words, government is now a tool for looting. Instead of protecting private property it now exists solely to redistribute wealth, which is essentially stealing from Peter to bribe Paul.
When a state stops protecting private property rights (the most fundamental of all rights) the society falters. So many now dream of a socialist nation, but such a country is nothing but a collection of thieves dividing up the citizenry's property.
It is an INJUSTICE and you cannot build a healthy system on such an injustice.
So when "Helluva" Bender calls it White Privilege she means you have no right to own property, or expect the protection of the state if you are white (and not if if you're black, either.) As that is the prime purpose of government, it automatically leads to disrespect, and eventual rejection, of the so-called government which claims authority.
Revolutions are built not on taking power but on the evaporation of power from the hands of the legitimate authority. This is a recipe for revolution.
And frankly, if the authorities think this, do they have any right to hold power?
