In 1950 there were 151,325,798 people in the United States. There are now two hundred million more. Yet the Truman Administration kicked out no fewer than 1.1 million at a minimum and the Eisenhower Administration another two million or more. That's three million.
So it can be done. Remember, we didn't have an interstate highway system, nor regular air flights, nor the the infrastructure we have now. It was harder to kick people out back then.
This is Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) arguing we should just give up and let illegals take over the country. Just like the GOPe and the Chamber of Commerce have always wanted.
Yes, it will be hard but if we cut off funding for them they will self-deport back home to a large degree. But if we do nothing then nothing happens and their numbers will keep growing.
We don't know until we try. But so many in the GOP have already declared defeat, and that because they don't want to end this. How will they find maids and lawn care?

Why should this mope want to keep people who eventually won't vote for him when they can vote? Or is he, perchance, planning to switch parties?

Dana, it's always been completely baffling as to why so many in the GOP were so eager to have all these illegals, but they were. I wrote a number of years ago about it; there was an aide to then-Mexican President Vicente' Fox, a man named Alfredo Arias-King, who himself was completely puzzled by this. He met with the GOP and simply couldn't understand their eagerness to get these aliens into the country. His conclusion was that the GOP wanted what the Democrats wanted; they wanted these people to take over and become a block that simply ignored politics and thus would not expect results from their leaders - and would not challenge them for office. In other words, the GOP wanted job security. They were the ultimate losers, happy with the scraps given them by the Democrats. They didn't really want to be in charge, just keep their districts safe.
Of course this is madness; as time goes by these illegals become legals and then vote the Republicans out. But they figure it will last their time, I guess.
At any rate Arias King is onto something. Of course there is more to it than that; the donor class wanted this and money is what makes politics go round. The donors wanted cheap labor, or to make America multicultural, and in the end many of the elites saw themselves as citizens of the world rather than Americans (certainly the Bush's saw themselves that way) and want an international order with world government and no borders. This is how you get that.
The Democrats motives are obvious, of course; they just want absolute power.
So both parties have long pushed for unrestrained immigration to remake America and anyone who doubts the Great Replacement theory is kidding themselves. There is no push at all to enculturate any of these immigrants. The Ruling Class wants to refound America without all those annoying freedoms and rights. They want to be in charge and have the public take what is given them (which is how it works in Latin America).
