The "Hitler" shibboleth being employed by actual politicians now is a measure of their desperation. While the Democrats are always sliming Republicans with "Hitler" or "Fascist" it's usually done by surrogates, usually celebrities. That Harris and others are now openly doing it bespeaks their utter failure to offer any sort of message that resonates with the American People.
To paraphrase Lloyd Benson in the 1988 Vice Presidential debate with Dan Quayle:
"I knew Winston Churchill. You Kamala, are no Winston Churchill". She seems to think she can play Churchill to Trump as Hitler. But neither of them work in those rolls. In fact Kamala is more Hitlerian than ever has been Donald Trump.
Adams gets it! But then he's a politician who was mugged by his own party.

Timothy, you raise an interesting point here. The rhetoric in politics today has certainly intensified, and terms like "fascist" and "Hitler" are now thrown around much more loosely, which can dilute their historical weight and significance.

13.6-28 Tractor Tire Thanks for your comment. Yeah; it's gotten out of hand, no question. And as you point out it dilutes the true horror of Naziism and Hitler.
People who bandy about terms like Hitler and Nazi do not know of what they speak. Ask any Holocaust survivor if Trump is Hitler and they will tell you no in no uncertain terms. They remember Hitler.

At my age, and with all the history I have read, I'm tempted to say "I knew Hitler. And Donald Trump's no Hitler. Now, Joe Biden, on the other hand..."

Agreed Dana although Joe Biden is too stupid and low T to be Hitler too. But his policies certainly comport more with the Third Reich than does any President before him.

People forget what the Nazis actually promoted - they were heavy into proto-envoronmentalism, for instance,locking up much of their counttryside in national parks and pushing all sorts of "green" policies. They were for a high minimum wage. They were heavy regulations of industries. They were for gun controol. They were for heavy, progressive taxes on the rich. They were big supporters of the labor unions (although they wanted these unions under their control.) They promoted nationalized healthcare. They promoted high taxes. The promoted nationalized education. They sought to control what people ate and drank. While they were less libertine than our current fascists, the Nazi party was still full of homosexuals and sexual deviants. Ernst Rohm,for example, was a flamer and quite open about it. While the Nazis DID suppress homosexuals on some occsions, most notably the effeminaate types whom they saw as detestable, they were quite happy with the butch types. The Nazi's main complaint against homosexuals was they tended to not reproduce, something the Nazis sawa as a social duty to expand the size of the Master Race.

The only difference between our modern Demo-fascists and the Nazis is they invert who is at the top of the pyramid and who is being demonized. The modern Nazis hate Christianity every bit as much as did Der Feuhrer And while the Nazis discouraged abortions among Aryans, they were quite eager for it among non-Aryans and the peoples they conquered.
