Dude, Where's my Constitution?

Jack Kemp (not the politician):

It has been reported that the US Supreme Court has declined to rule on Mr. Donofrio's case claiming Barack Obama is not a valid natural born citizenship and thus not able to become President.

By not requiring the public display and examination of Obama's birth certificate, we -- collectively -- have essentially trashed the Constitution. For now.

A reader on Lucianne.com informs us that this is a trend -- and not a new one. To quote him:

"RĂ³ger Calero (born 1969 in Nicaragua) is a Nicaraguan American journalist and one of the leaders of the Socialist Workers Party. He was SWP candidate for President of the United States in 2004 and 2008 in 5 states and for the United States Senate in New York in 2006. Minor detail - HE WAS BORN IN NICARAGUA AND HAS A GREEN CARD!!!!!!!!"
END OF QUOTE

So we have an earlier person who was publicly known to not have been born in the US running for the Presidency in 2004, with no examination, let alone banning, by any of the state's election officials or fifty Secretaries of State. Clearly our educational system has created a population where not enough, i.e., few know and/or care about the Constition. The population may change their mind in the next few years as life gets more complicated. As others have said, if The Fairness Doctrine is attempted to be reimposed, the legality of any Barack Obama pronouncement will be challenged by people with their back to the wall. The same goes for any of a number of domestic or foriegn policy or federal legal changes. I could even see The Daily Kos bringing up this issue if Obama becomes too "mainstream" for their tastes in politics.

This issue is like herpies. It just doesn't go away.
